  1. 20whp is a bit ambitious. I have seen a solid 11whp peak gain and gains ALL through the rev-range which was impressive. Only difference was headers, car already had intake and exhaust from memory.

    Telemarking

I guess another problem with telemarking is that rental equipment is somewhat rare? Can't just rent some to have a hoon on? I spend most of my time buttering and or doing silly/unnecessary turns

    Telemarking

I've seen telemarking at Ruapehu and Wanaka. It looks incredibly tiring to me. But then again, I only have one plank to worry about - so everything else looks like too much work to me.
  4. Wikipedia tells me that the Aeromax has a BMW V8. In a car that is possibly close to a tonne. Awesome.
  5. Who cares what others put on their cars. Oh noes. These chromies sure do degrade this M3 and the 135i next to it. Interesting definitions of "rice" in here...then I guess => oh dear those silly ricers are at it again:
  6. My K-motor didn't really have too much of a "kick" like the B series, but more a surge in power. By the looks of things the R26 is very linear, does it have any perceptible lag? Or is it one of these mysterious lagless new cars? It definitely looks fun! Would love to be taken for a thrash in the Megane *cough*
  7. Gold in ET15....if they fit my brakes....which they probably won't
  8. Out of interest - how is the torque steer? My old DC5 with less torque (200nm fly) and power (220hp fly) was only really happy applying power in corners (regardless of surface) or nice smooth tarmac when going straight. Otherwise it'd attempt to change lanes when it came on cam

    Peugeot 205 GTi MI16

From what I understand ATW figure is a different beast altogether from fly torque which is what we use to compare different cars with. Atw - is usually magnified by moment couples about the gears/diff/wheels For example, a lot of turbos have 1200nm atw, but are in fact in the 300-400nm at the fly. Regardless - your car has plenty of both tq and pwr from what I experienced
  10. That's awesome. Underrated factory power is the best kind of power. I would like to see what the RS197's put down. In fact, I would like a RS197.

    E30 iS front lips

Would look a bit high and poo. The PFL front valence is tiny compared to the FL. You could chop off your tow hooks and bolt on a FL front though (looks a bit weird with the high as rear valence)
  12. Shaping up to be a tidy road weapon Loving everything (except maybe the eyelids)
  13. 6 pot joy with 4 pot distro. Mint! Love the v-mount setup
  14. Why not check out the springs and shocks from the E30 series? The 320i ones should be for the same weight and distribution as your m325i?

    M325i vs SR20DET.

Wow, that's choice. You're a lot more confident at the grip limits than I am! I wonder if my steering inputs are as busy as yours? I have a feeling they are lol....I want a video camera
  16. There used to be a black one that would be driven quite frequently in the Takapuna area a couple of years ago. Perhaps that's where the rough one originated? It looked like it was used to go to the shops lol.
  17. +1 Rest of the car looked pretty good. Not so sure about the bling bling gearknob though.

    Tyre storage

I have had my R888's sitting on their side for more than half a year, in varying states of mounted and unmounted. When I finally got around to using them they seemed fine? I was a bit paranoid, and had all the sides that faced up mounted on the outside to balance any unevenness. I was wondering if rubber conditioner or similar would be beneficial or not - to stop them drying out. But then again, most of it is a silicone compound..
  19. Technically as long as it's louder than stock. I think you can get a noise cert for $200. The standard $400-520 low volume vehicle certification process does not include this.
  20. I'm quite sure you don't. Some cars turn up to trackdays/hillclimbs/etc with just a logbook - no plates, no reg, no wof. edit: beaten ^
  21. If you want to remove it completely, you'll need a non-AC heater unit. Other than that, I just kept removing and unplugging bits until it was all gone. It's fairly straight forward to follow the piping.
  22. Omg omg omg omg.....Will Roegge directed Millen's official video!
  23. Noooo way It's an E30 right? Brakes, brakes brakes Standard brakes are a bit on the terrifying side no? Especially coming from an E36 M3? I reckon, get rid of indicator orange and that's really all you need to do to the exterior of a mtechII e30 Maybe a cheeky little 325iS-style front splitter?

    Class Bores Me

Excel is awesome It can persuaded to do all sorts of things! Learn it! And learn it well, such a powerful tool - My EngSci MM1 lecturer showed us how you could trick excel into making graphs that visually show deformation in structures! Bad. Ass. Yes...I'm a geek, am writing MatLab as I procrastinate on BimmerSport
