  1. No fair - TWO E30 M3s It's no wonder they are so hard to find in NZ if people are hoarding them! Is the red one in the garage the one that's up for sale? I am after one for racing, unfortunately its FAR too nice to make into a race car or I would be in touch if it is.
  2. Did you get your car from them, or from a previous owner? Would appreciate any experiences or opinions on these guys, with respect to E30 M3s.
  3. I could be mistaken, but isn't that the Taupo start / finish straight in that photo??? Anyone care to own up??Doing that on a track is very scary, tried it on a public road once and went through the middle of a roundabout at the critical moment
  4. Can you please post the new link when it's up?
  5. I thought Glenn was branching out into FIATs ?
  6. You might want to lower the starting bid to generate some interest. No bids, despite the interest on here, would suggest you are looking for above the market price?
  7. It's like all ratings, set well on the safe side. I'm sure the car has the power and the brakes to tow much more than 1500kg safely on a braked trailer, but "just to be safe" the rating is set well below that. If I were pulled over with more the load over the 1500kg I would get pinged by the police which is more my worry as I seem to attract police cars like flies around poo when I am towing, even with a Land Cruiser! And yes, very funny Foxy it is a 320, about 1140kg without me in it (I can probably strip some more out after Christmas) plus the trailer at 600kg and tools, spare wheels etc. I would estimate in the 1800kg range. The later model 5 Series 528i has a rating of 1800kg braked, but there are very few around with a towbar that are anywhere near a reasonable price, and 2.5k to have one fitted is a bloody joke. You are right, there are very few decent cars around with that sort of rating, so will have to keep looking, damn, fancied your 525i / 535iS Brent!
  8. Cheers for the offer of fitting one up, unfortunately I will need a few more than the 1500kgs to be legal.
  9. Hey Brent, any idea how much to get a towbar on it, is the wiring a pain on this model? I was quoted $2.5k+ to put a tow on a later 5 series due to diagnostic computers, etc. Also, what would the towing rating be for a braked trailer behind it? I need about 2 tonne. Cheers, Jon.
  10. For years the police in the UK argued that fixed speed cameras were there to improve road safety, and not to raise money through fines, so eventually the government said (under pressure from Joe Public) if that's the case, put up signs showing where they are and make them more obvious so people know it is a dangerous place. So all fixed cameras were painted bright yellow (close to Shuey's colour ) with about 3 warning signs in front of them. Would love them to do the same over here, if you can't spot and slow down for one of those then you shouldn't be on the road in the first place. BUT, it does lead to the problem of people spotting them at short notice, standing on the anchors and slowing to about 20mph UNDER the limit to be safe, and getting rear ended by the person behind!
  11. Does price include fluffy dice? On a more serious note, how bad is the head gasket, is it a slow leak or oil / water all gone in seconds? Trailer only?

It doesn't say it was at 60mph, but that is the speed limit on that stretch of road, hence my point. And most likely why the Dibble want to have a quiet word with Mr Ronaldo.Hard to compare a head on crash into a tree with an impact with a safety barrier - the barrier is designed to absorb impact and yield, a tree doesn't hence more damage to the car. Plus the tree is much more of a point impact, rather than an area impact, which again causes much worse damage. A Ferrari is built to withstand higher speed impacts, regardless of the composite materials used, the level of damage is well beyond the designed in crumple and absorbtion areas, suggesting a much higher speed impact than 60mph. Especially as it was an intial glancing blow before the head-on, which would have reduced some of the initial speed. Perhaps we can ask the long-necked tranny to crash head on into a tree when he gets his new car so we can compare more closely with the E30?
  13. Two muslim women are out clothes shopping for new Bhurkas. First one comes out of the changing room and says to the other..... "does my bomb look big in this?"
  14. Me too Foxy!At least this time it was withdrawn before the end of the auction which I thought I had "won" at a good price - unlike some other b@stards out there. Still, saves me getting all excited about it only to be let down at the end Bet I would have paid more for it than he got offered as well
  15. I have never driven the 330 tiptronic hard, so is there much of a performance difference between the manual and the m-sport tiptronic? Personally I would agree and take a manual over a SMG / tip-tronic box every time, but for the same price cars, one is a M-sport with lots of goodies against a manual. Probably be cheaper and easier to put the same goodies on the manual car, than to convert a tiptronic to manual. But then the budget goes up another $$??ks which would mean you could look at other higher priced vehicles as is. David's 330i is very well presented, looks different from your average 330i sport but is well done, not pimped and has some very nice performance mods on it too. Out of these two on TradeMe I would still go with the first car, just wish that exchange rate would drop back down!!

Makes me wonder how he managed to do that much damage to the car at 60mph (about 100kph), especially a Ferrari! Far be it for me to pass judgement, but could he possibly have been exceeding the speed limit by some considerable margin??
  17. Spotted this on TradeMe, seen the car in the flesh and it is a real good looker in tip top condition. It belongs to one of the Car Club bods and is very well looked after. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...-196113556.htm If it wasn't for the current exchange rate against the pound I would be seriously trying to convince the wife on this one! Why do the right cars always come up at the wrong time??
  18. Hi, just wondering have you received my payment/sent the parts/get my PM ? Is all OK, I haven't heard anything back, or received anything in the post? Guess you might be on hols at the mo'. Cheers
  19. How much does it cost to tranfer a plate over? And who pays, the buyer or seller?? $600 with auto bid up to $650
  20. What type of "clear" did you use, a clear laquer or a clearcoat, plus did you leave it to air dry or was it baked off? Also, are you sure that the colour you are trying to match is a basecoat / clearcoat system (this may sound stupid but many colours are still only solid paints)? Whilst any spray can application will not match the OE paint system, you should be able to get it reasonably close, by which I mean you can look at it from 2 metres away (or six foot in old money) and not see any noticeable difference in daylight.
  21. Got a bit of cash to buy some bits for the cars which will come in handy for some parts. Best present was a framed photo of me in the race car over at Manfield. The boy got a slot car set and a radio-controlled Ferrari
  22. That cracked me up, Ollie the natural born salesman! If it wasn't for buying loads of brightly coloured plastic crap for the rug-rats Christmas presents I would have snapped your arm off, looking for a set to go on the 'vert. Oh well, no rush.
  23. PM'd you a different e-mail addy for the pictures. Still keen to take bonnet and boot at race series rates, regardless of condition, if you can bring to Puke on 24th Jan? Cheers, JTP.
  24. LOL - I don't think they'll let you race in Jandals!! But yes, the wrap should keep it a bit cooler, still gets damn hot in the cabin though. I have got some aly treadplates above the floors mounted on spacers, so I am not directly on the floor pans, this helps keep your feet a bit cooler.
