new member Old 3 series BMW's as a first car
Jacko replied to Young asian boii's topic in General Discussion
i agree with the above, an old bmw with a tight budget is no fun, and will be very frustrating, unless you already have spanner twirling skills. -
It looks like godzilla stood on it

Maybe in 10 years time, stuff like the i30N and Stinger will help change the enthusiast publics opinion, but most people still think beaten up daewoo with the bumper falling off when "korean car" is mentioned

Yeah gone sorry

This has probably been discussed before, but - Who is recommended? Specifically for the E91 330 that the wife drives, it needs someone to look after it long term. Previous place dumped oil down the side of the engine on the last service, made a mess and stunk. Only noticed when I took it for a drive and went wtf are you driving this like this for...) Ive just cleaned it up and the underbody covers havent been off in years (corroded siezed fasteners etc). I dont have the time to look after 3 cars, so farming this one out is the plan More than happy to pay someone for the extra 15min to do a decent job. Edit - @B.M.W Ltd - Is Wayne still in the BMW fixing industry?
-
I keep seeing a lady put 91 into her E90 M3. Is this a situation like having sh*t paper stuck to your shoe, or spinach on your teeth? Do I say something? Do I take her keys away?
-
Epic. It looks factory. I want one Whats it like to drive? Do you notice the extra weight over the front end?
-
E60 540 on Wiri station road this arvo, who wanted to race at the lights. You drive like a f**ken bellend, GTFO the road before you end someone elses day prematurely.

At the moment, I pay rent to BP, simply as good coffee Have had the AA card up to $1.8x, but that was just in an effort to see what happened if I got over the price of gas (do they pay you to fill up!?) Failed though.
-
Akl-Raglan-Akl daily - I pass BP & Gulls
-
Curious if anyone has sat down and worked out the average price of 98 (it obviously varies a bit by location). Is BP with the loyalty card cheaper than gull etc? I spend $300+ a week on 98, should really work out where I should fill up (unless someone already has done it)
-
Interesting, my 330 does this as well, its like it refuses to kick down once in a while and tries to acclerate in a dumb gear. Hasnt dont it since it had an oil change which might explain a few things, and has never thrown an fault code on the scanner.

Gave the 130 (and 330) a polish and wax. Got some of that Bouncers Check the Fleck wax, like $180 a container (on sale for $30)... Im normally at the meguairs/mothers end of the wax spectrum, but for $30.. Ill give it a go. Clay bar'd, cut and polished using DA and a range of grades (finished with meguairs ultimate polish), spent the majority of the day, so the surface prep was pretty decent! It smells really nice, it goes on really nice, but OMG the buffing to get rid of holograms. Took forever and the end result is at the level of meguiars ultimate/carnauba Its shiney, but, seriously, too much work. No way could I justify the full price. "check the fleck" is apparently for metallicpaints, 130 is black saphire metallic... honestly, the fleck look better checked after the polish and before the wax

Interesting, is there a reseller semi-locally? pricing?

^ Agreed, I like the idea, and you nailed some parts. Drones are my bread and butter, if you want suggestions on how to get nice shots hollah, some of the ones included in your video are good, whereas others should have got the chop. The shot at 1:30 for instance is nice, just a simple climb, its cliche (all aerial photography now is!) but it looks good. Without really precise thumbs for pan/tilt shots just looks amateurish, so best bet is to just avoid it until your at that level, practice lots and just let it hit the editing room floor. Some of the best stuff ive got has just been from drifting in the wind while not trying to do anything fancy! What software are you using to assemble it all, kinda looks like some weird codec artifacts are happening? Might be due to the differing camera formats/bitrates/codecs? (youtube sometimes does this to) I want more though.
