hhhmmm maybe a vaccum leak on one of the little intake hoses etc . will make it run lean at low rpm .

also check the fusable link that comes off the battery positive terminal , its wrapped in plastic wrap on the smaller power cable they break offten

failed ignition coil . oil down the spark plug holes . broken fan blade. get it scanned maybe

405 is newer than 403 ecu ,. 405 will run cats normally 402 is about 91/92 and so on upto 405 1993 then 412 413 414 are vanos m50 type

coils give very little trouble in these cars . check those crank sensors and also remove the ecu , and open it up and check for dry joints

yes pretty common abs sensor failure . i a have some for pre 1999 models also the electronics in the abs pump can fail due to dry joints etc.the abs modules can be repaired

yes they the tyres are all getting pretty old now , they start off with about 12mm of tread so they last forever but cost a fortune to buy and have a very old tyre tread and rubber compound so pretty leathal in the wet. i wouldn't touch them unless you like danger. but on a positive note thye did make a couple of nice designs for the wheels , and they can be got in 390mm or 415mm , go for the 415mm like they used on early e34 535i and some 540i etc not a bad looking bbs rim , also if you can find any the dunlop or avon metric tyres have better rubber/grip newer design etc check with marty(bm weapon ) he might have a set of metrics with tyres

yes check that .also the ecu's can develop dry joints in them , around the main output trasistor for the coil etc . also check the crank sensors and plugs from around the gearbox bell housing .

e28 100kg lighter than e24 and much cheaper to buy panels etc .

hhmmm, i think its better to do a proper remap on a dyno so you can get the best results from the engine . have done a couple of cars and got good results that you can see and feel

those are e34 m5 wheels with the turbine covers. also come with throwing star cover options like on my e28

how bout a e28 m5 replica , just needs a cage . does pretty good times at pukekohe and hampton with full interior and amauter driver etc . also winner of a saloom corse at bmw car club day at taupo betting a BDA ford escort rally car by 2secs and all the other bmw's that where there.

Electrical noise and hum through stereo

also if rca (or line audio) cables are run beisde main power feed cables that can cause that noise -
have seen X5 rims on e36 and e46 , but not sure on what there width where though . i have 17 by 10" wide alpina rims on the back of my e34 but they have the proper offset for a e34 and fit prefectly with 255 or 265 wide tyres

maybe try them for classic car cover if doing under 5000km per year . tell them your in the bmw car club etc . car is garaged etc
