have you chevked the shaft where it goes into the steering box is that turning as well , might be broken universal in the steering colum

i have trans from a e23 745i . works ok 4hp22 . suits upto about 1990

have this , needs small repair to corner. $50

looks good , pitty you cant mount the rack closer to the drivers side or get a rack with a wider mounting set up so the input shaft is closer to the chasis rail. good work though . where do i put my order in

yes very slow selling bits from a 735i , 740i or 750i are better

e34 use a steering box not a rack . unless its a 4wd model . maybe the steering lock is on (ign key related)

also the switches fail . get all gummed up and burned etc inside.

i have same problem with my e34 535i alpina b10 with 255/40-17" on 10" alloy all chewed out on the inside edge . manage to pick up the last one in the country to replace it today.

you need the lot . engine and trans with all the loom from both those . all the ecu's , drivehshaft , diff and subframe etc , exhaust . if you can pick up a 535ia thats has body damage or rust then its worth it other wise you will get stuck with something that doesn't work and having to keep buying bits etc but i guess thats good for our business

check the tightness of all the front cover bolts that cover the camchain .or replace the gasgets and add some sealant . also the front crank seal weep

are you sure that bmw rack you brought is from a e39 ??? looks like a e36 or e46 one

your can use the 5spd box from a the e34 530i and e32 730i v8 also from e38 730i 735i v8 e39 535i v8 etc a few on ebay.de for about 300euro's . but most wont ship outside euroland. just buy a new clutch and proformance flywheel from the states . plenty of options there.

i fitted a e36 328i one to my e34 535i , works well , but the z3 is shorter again if you like that sort of thing

will be e34 540i brakes not e39 . baisis set inthe master cylinder also gorverned by differences in brake pistons front and back
