are you sure that bmw rack you brought is from a e39 ??? looks like a e36 or e46 one

your can use the 5spd box from a the e34 530i and e32 730i v8 also from e38 730i 735i v8 e39 535i v8 etc a few on ebay.de for about 300euro's . but most wont ship outside euroland. just buy a new clutch and proformance flywheel from the states . plenty of options there.

i test drove this car a few years ago ,. they where asking about $9-10k was a nice car . not sure why i didn't buy it been sold a couple of times since and new plates etc . new wheels , fixed dented guard etc photo's from when i test drove it http://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=xu2770

i fitted a e36 328i one to my e34 535i , works well , but the z3 is shorter again if you like that sort of thing

will be e34 540i brakes not e39 . baisis set inthe master cylinder also gorverned by differences in brake pistons front and back

have seen 528i with highish k's going for about the same $$$. just get it checked out if that's what you are after .

all e36 front bumpers have the same mounting etc .you just have to choose which style you like preface lift , facelift or mtec types,

have you removed your head yet , as most likly a cracked head . (very common)

yes , seams to pull like a larger engine all the way upto the stupid 5200rpm german power tax tunning .will get that sorted soonish

yes thats rigt i have a ZF box from a e36 328i and it has a larger output flange than the getrags from the e36 318is 325i etc .

yes comon problem . they fail in all sorts of ways . no display , no fan , dead pixels etc etc .

i agree dont bother with the 323i engine unless you plan on modifing it to the same spec as a 325i engine. or use 328i engine . you also need a sump and oil pump pick up etc from a e34 520i or 525i m50 engine. auto or manual doesn't matter , you can fit a manual gearbox to a engine that has had a auto fitted to it .

it has teh skirts fitted now , as per pictures above. yes missing the tinted windows like my last 325i had . maybe a front lip ??? cant wait for some decent shocks to be fitted though and a remap to get rid of that 5200rpm retarded power curve peak

try replaceing some of the back light bulbs there are about 4 or 5 or them . i have another obc with good buttons but bad lcd pixels maybe make one out of 2 yes planning on keeping it for while , its just my runabout , quite handy having fold down rear seats in these coupes you can load exhaust systems , axles , driveshafts , windscreens and all sorts of other long stuff. used a getrag box from a 94 325i , but i do have a ZF unit now from a 97 328i which i might keep and swap out one day when i am bored and have nothing better to do thanks for all the comments guys.
