yep i have one . 3.45 or so . standard .
-
looking good . will see you at pukekohe i surpose .

could be running lean . try a new afm , or adjusting yours , the spring tension goes stiffer in them with age . sometimes they need to be adjusted richer , click it around one notch on the toothed wheel , mark the original position first .

sparkle . i have a freind with a 525i manual . you could buy the whole car or just the kit from him. i think he wants $600 for the kit . you would need to do the little mod to the flywheel .(i can give instructions ) and tap and drill the sensor pick up thingy's into the bell housing. dont bother with toyota gearbox , easier to find bmw one . andrew . the e28 535i has 2 pick ups on the bellhousing . the e34 535i has a spark plug sensor and crank sensor instaed (better system ) sparkle. you could convert your motronic engine wiring loom to a e34/e32 one with the ecu (which are better than e28 one ,more advanced newer designed system) then you wouldn't need to worry about the flywheel sensors . ps. let me know if you want the 5spd conversion kit .

andrew i seem to remember the drag day with my e34 535i up against your e30 . and the e28 535i is just about as fast as my e34 and my mates e28 M535i with a little work also keeps up or pulls away from my e34 535i.the factory spec for e28 535i is about 7secs according to the manual. cheers . you coming down tommorrow to viligrads .

yea not bad power to weight ratio ,almost as good as the 1986 E28 M535i 160Kw or 218HP 310Nm torque 1350kg (approx) hey just saw the 0-60 time not bad for the audi . thats where the e28 is slow . final drive 3.07lsd with 5spd over drive box . 0-60 7.2secs thinking of fitting a 3.45 into it that should ifx the problem or could go even lower 3.64 ,3.73 etc

had a ride in this around pukekohe . was pretty cool , ray was drifting it a bit . hitting rev limit in first 3 gears , pretty good brakes too . coming over the hill at puke , in 3rd at about 160km/h doing around 6000rpm passes a car like its standing still up rev limit 7000rpm odd then into forth , while the marshalls are flaging him down beacuse it was only surpose slow laps up to 100km/h and there was 4 of us in the car .

thats not bad paul , my e34 535i with the 3.25 diff , only gets about 10.5l /100km on trip if i ma lucky , around town to work (trafic and motorway stuff) 13l /100km but lattly not running well doinf 14l per 100km . i am using the old 464000km e28 M535i now with the 3.07diff avg 11.6l per 100km doing the work run . does about 1900rpm at 100km/h 5th gear . as appose to 2050 rpm inthe e34 . my wife does the school runs , shopping etc in th e28 535iA gets about 13-14L per 100km (very bad) will do about 9-10l per 100km on a trip . i am expecting better ,millage in the newer E34 535i with the 3.64diff and higher compression pistons with the hartge goodies fitted . when its all done . i remember when i had the 1988 750iL it had a 110Litre tank i put $100 in it when gas was a $1per litre ,and my mates were just laughing at me. that thing wouldn't do any better than 16L per 100km( didn't drive slow though)

thanks guys . got it home tonight . engine starts easy , moves around driveway . its a mtech 2 body kit , needs glovebox lid , and under steering wheel cover (above pedals) , refit tyre that has unsealed it self, headlights ,left driving light , grills , kidney , bonet maybe repairable , new front gaurds , fix lower lip on front spoiler , its painted in a laser blue metalic (looks purple in some light) needs a good clean , and sort out some trim fixings inside . i think i'll fix it up , whats it worth only done 96000miles , anyone got a 5spd manual kit . i think its from hong kong or singapore , speedo in miles but has no sunroof , a/c is fitted , imported in 1999. engine sounds good , will pull radiator back from fan and take for a drive over the weekend .
