completely different units , not compatible pic of M20 325I E30 TYPE small dowel pins , clutch disc has springs in it . larger top hat pressure plate m50 dual mass type , shallow top hat , large dowel pins , clutch disc has no springs in it also diameters vary depending on engine size etc

filled it up (man these things can drink), washed it, drove it and changed the rear tyres. now can actually accelerate it with the DSC light going nuts

t we are talking about m52 m50 into e36 compact WILL , not a sedan . ti rear driveshaft half is much shorter than a sedan or coupe. so when you intstall medium case diff , with the auto rear half and the front half of a 4cyl manual diff it will be to long. but its ok if you use a 6cyl manual front half (as the 6cyl man front half is 25mm shorter just like the linkages) does everyone agree that the 6cyl engines sit 25mm further back in the engine bay than a 4cyl??? as bmw made them like that to keep the weight split closer to 50/50 . the getrag boxes are all the same length , so see what happens for yourself when you use the 4cyl linkages. have installed more than 20 of these kits . including a few into e36 328i ,318ti 328ti etc z3 2.8L etc always the same way.

maybe they where swapped for 6cyl ones before you got them , as the 4cyl ones are different part numbers between 316i,318i 318is 318ti vs 320i 323i 325i etc. all the 6cyl engines m20 m50 m52 m54 etc sit 25mm further back in the engine bay than the 4cyl m40 , m43 ,m42 ,m44 n42 etc engines. 4cyl ones http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/25111221540/ http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/25111222203/ http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/25111221544/ 6cyl ones http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/25111221541/ http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/25111221864/ http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/25111222019/ http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/25111221547/ http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/25111222664/ http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/25111222738/

if its 4cyl gear linkages you will need to change them for 6cyl 320i 323i 325i ones or get them cut and welded 25mm shorter . use the front half of the manual driveshaft mated to the rear half of the auto , when you swap a medium case e30 diff and axles into it. you might shorten the collar in the middle of the driveshaft so it can close up in length a little. some panel beating is required with a hammer to fit the larger diff in just so the rear cover clears the floor beam.

BM WORLD replied to 535iase1997's topic in Electrical system
what year is it ?? , the abs modules all fail on the later ones , I get them repaired all the time , if the the ecus have had water near them , they might be toast . long cranking , some time cam sensor or maf etc .
