  1. Welcome. My first car was an 83 EXA Pulsar in white, was bloody tidy too! Brings back some memories! Found this tidy old girl on TM - Not sure if it's 6k worth though? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-244738469.htm
  2. If it were me I'd take it to K.G McLeod in Waverley. I've been taking all my Euro stuff there. They are the cheapest I've come across and Alan up there is a gun at diagnostics & repairs. They are normally pretty quick too.
  3. I've driven one, but a later 2001 model which is a facelift, I've also owned a CLK-55 AMG & can report that it & the E55 will absolutely dominate any standard Subaru, in terms of brute performance, looks & pure style! I think the E series is 260kw and 530nm, my CLK was slightly less. These cars are the hammers of the car performance sector. I think the only issue with a 1998 version is that the dash and some parts of the exterior are kind of looking a bit dated if you know what I mean, but if it were me, I'd take it & run LOL. From what I was told, they were pretty bullet proof too, but with all euro stuff I'd recommend a mechanical inspection by the manufacturer, your local garage who does trailer WOF's on Saturdays probably wouldn't know where to start... If you can, grab an aftermarket warranty just incase something does go wrong because they can be very big bickies to fix. From memory they are around the 200k mark new but they sure feel like it! Awesome cars, good luck! EDIT: Do you have a link? Is it an import or NZ New? Mileage? (out of interest)
  4. Took the words right outta me mouth. All that car needs is a few bogans and a box of double brown in between the back seats. It's truely hideous IMO.
  5. CATASTROPHIC UNDERSTEER!!!! That's classic. It looks like a bag of turds IMO that car, it looks like 10 bags of turds going round corners. That drift in the MPS is so smooth, it makes you want to go out & try it ha.
  6. Yep, I normally turn it off with the trailer. It turns itself back on when you start the car however.
  7. Love the ST220, never actually seen on here in NZ. Have driven the smaller 2.5V6 version and it was a wet blanket. I have owned an 02 Mondeo Wagon, it had 250km on it at the time and it was as tight as a drum. Very under-rated car, would own one any day over a Corolla. We've got the Mazda 6 as a work car & it's great too, but bang for buck, I'd have the Mondeo if I had the choice again! Thought you might like this? That Vectra is a crackup!
  8. When I had my X5 BMW it was a jappa, the previous owner thought the TV didn't work until I flicked the switch from NTSC to PAL. Too easy.
  9. Cheap enough hey? Holy $HIT!!! Thats over 300k for a RR! They are 180k for a basic one new here anyway? Where has that 120k gone haha! I'd prefer mine if I had to live with that god awful wood inside that car, exterior wise it looks tops.
  10. She's going into Land Rover tomorrow to get sorted. I'm biting the bullet. The Parking sensors front & rear go in foward & reverse LOL below 10kph I think? They are simply a pain in the ass when your trying to back your vehicle, mine are 10 billion dB, too bloody loud but they are handy parking a 2.5 ton vehicle into a tight spot! Most probably the same as the standard issue BMW. I'm told Trailer Mode disables the dipping LH external mirror, disables DSC for the REAR, firms suspension in the rear, changes the transmission characteristics, alters the DSC characteristics and so on, quite a list... I tried to make the RR loose control on loose gravel when I was up at the crib on a sharp sweeping corner, the DSC cut in ofcourse but even without the car in Trailer Mode the car kept inline perfectly. Ha, it's not that I can't afford it, I'm just trying to get around saving $500!
  11. Hi Jochen. So in short you mean fit wires from the trailer plug outlet back to the lights on the car? Would you have to do each individual channel i.e left & right indicator, park light & brake light? Cheers.
  12. I've got a 2005 Range Rover HSE Diesel and a brand new alloy 8x4 trailer with LED lights. The lights simply won't work when it's hooked up the the RR, all it does is for example will give me all lights illuminated when I have the park lights on e.t.c. I've spoken to Land Rover and apparently it needs a $500 fix which involves a control module to be fitted as it's not designed for low voltage lighting on trailers. Does anyone know of a cheaper option? As my RR was made under the ownership of BMW the systems may be very similar to someone who has perhaps done a cheap fix? It's booked in for Monday but if I can save $500 I'd be greatly impressed! Cheers.
  13. Oh my god yes.... That is the best looking E30 I've ever seen. Good finding, damn that looks hot! Edit: I wonder what that thing is worth and what the owner would sell it for... Would have to be 10k + wouldn't it?
  14. Was on my way back from Hamilton and in between Timaru and Oamaru I spotted a bright red E30 Alpina Coupe, it was absolutely stunning, just wondering if anyone knows about it here? It's the kind of car that you would swap your children for, left arm and/or right eye!
  15. Nope, it's never been on TradeMe, unless he's listed it?
  16. Your jokin yeah? Sold that, bought a Audi S4 4.2 V8, then sold that, then had a new Mazda BT-50, sold that now have the Range Rover HSE which I'm picking up in Hamilton on Saturday. Keep up with the play son.
  17. The purchase of the M5 fell through, the seller (my own uncle!!!) had a cash offer and took it over my offer of a trade + cash! Pissed about this but hey, thats business! I've still got half a BMW though, we found this cheap Range Rover HSE Diesel, so yeah, once again I've gone from one extreme to the other... But if its cheap, I'll own anything! The Rangie turns out to be a more practical option for us. We need something that tows my other toys, something that is comfortable to travel in and something to get into those fishing spots! Have some pictorials....
  18. Interesting about the cameras for sure. But whenever I've seen it, it only seems to be on real high end stuff that I've seen it with!
  19. QUESTION: Why does the lights flicker on high end euro supercars? Veyron's do it, McLaren SLR's do it, M5 does it, Audi RS6 I've seen does it? Anyone know what it is for?
  20. Hmmm, but my lounge doesn't do 328kph haha! But seriously, 250kph is like trying to get a normal car to do 100kph, the speed is just amazing! The heads up display rocks too. It's not jut a gimmick, it actually helps you keep your eyes on the road.
  21. Audi beast long gone. I may have to sell the Mazda ute yet and, my kids and my arms & legs to pay for this car, but hey. You only live twice. Once a years alright?
  22. And guess what colour it is!!! Will post pics as soon as I get a chance, but it's a 2005 BMW M5 V10 383kw in black with black leather, sunroof, i-drive, sat navigation, NZ New - yadda yadda. This was my uncles car but he's been largely unsuccessful in selling it over the past few months. He's shifted house in the mean time while his new house is being built to a renter and there's no garage, so it pains him to leave it sitting outside. The agreed sum is 70k which I think is bloody superb. It comes with 18 months of full protector warranty too, it's already had 6k spent on replacement computers at Cooke Howlison BMW. To be fair, driving it the other day, it didn't feel like it had 383kw The power delivery was so smooth. Press the M Button and all hell breaks loose. I love it how it rev's in between gears, the engine noise sounds like an angry dog. You really don't realise how fast you are going until you look at the speedo. Will post pics asap.
  23. Thats a fairly mint collection there. Nice find! I bet there's some fairly pissed people standing around those wrecks! EDIT: Did anyone see the race between the Bugatti Veyron and the McLaren F1 on the latest episode of Top Gear S13E03? Unbelievably the McLaren was quicker off the mark!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Veyron nailed it eventually though once it got into its stride.

    E60 M5

Howdy, the M5 isn't mine, its the uncles ride. He's had it for maybe 9-12 months now roughly and put on about 5000km's. K's aren't too bad being 4 years old but definetley higher than most M5's out there at the moment
