    RIP Cosmos

Looks like Brian needed a beer ontop of his coffin!

    BMW X4

Neither, I can almost guarantee that a fully loaded R Line Tiguan will be miles cheaper, that and the R Line Tiguan is a bloody good looking car IMO. Tiguan R Line
  3. Been there & done that, they are a great thing when they're working ( I had a 06 HSE kiwi new diesel ) Mine ended up having to go back to the dealer as 6 weeks out of the 12 I owned it - it was being repaired for a range of things, may have just gotten a really bad one! Have you ever towed with it? What are they like in the petrol with a decent load? I managed to tow 3 ton back from CHCH to Dunedin in mine, did it excellently!
  4. Is it just me or is red the best colour especially for a E30 two door?
  5. Geeze, I only get 100GB per month at home, this has probably taken half it lol. For the love of god, no one quote the first post lol! They look pretty good though, you'd be a good customer for OEM new bumpers ha.
  6. We have a Vehicross that parks down the street, they look like a 90's car that never should have gotten past the design phase. Put simply, one of the ugliest cars ever made, thank fark they never made that many!

Just goes to show how quick this disease can take a person. RIP Brian.
  8. Some of that tax write off is probably going to the un-employed lol!
  9. We're they pissed when they gave it that grille? I don't like Lexus in general, I don't think the extra price ontop of Toyota imports is worth it, at the end of the day that's all they are.
  10. True this, the F10 and F30 have to be the nicest looking BM's for 15 years IMO, even the new M6 is an awesome looking thing.
  11. Owned a E60 back when they were only a few years old, they were pretty radical then but always liked them, they do need the Motorsport kit though.
  12. This is why this thread is IYO
  13. LOL Graham, I couldn't disagree with you more. Yes, I had a poster of a Walky in the late 80s' I'd still love one even though a modern day euro diesel would give it a hiding & what cars weren't made with a ruler and that Pizza hut sh*t you mentioned haha?
  14. Ha, WTF is a Walkinshaw doing in here? Real ones of those are quire valuable and desireable! IYO I guess!
  15. Which made them understeer like a mongrel. Scandanavian flick was the only way around it lol.
  16. I bought a Results one a few years back now, never a problem with it, paid $20 bucks, I've also got a DeWalt and hardly notice the difference for what I use them for.
  17. I betchya that guy didn't walk it off.
  18. Thought I'd chime in about now... After spending more than 120,000kms in 4x X5's that I've owned and reading what your parents are going to be doing you cannot go past the diesel. Yeah the gearboxes are weak but it's down to a maintenance thing and there are tell tale signs sometimes on that box that it's on it's way out, but then again, anyone with a brain would get a perspective purchase an inspection prior! Sorry 3 pedals but forget the manual, the 6 speed auto is the way to go, you are probably one of the only people in the country to have a E53 manual so finding one is going to be near on impossible. Don't get a 5 speed pre facelift version, they're rubbish, don't get a petrol because they might not be toooo bad but as soon as you hook something up to it the extra 60nm accessed much lower in the rev range does become handy, that and they're thirsty full stop, my 4.6is must have thought I had shares in BP. I agree on the E70, if you can afford it, but the thread is about an E53? If you want more punch and ultimately be quicker than the V8 entirely, get it remapped, I've done it two my two diesels and the performance increase was brilliant, and the consumption went down by about 1.5 per 100kms.
  19. A loan car I had when my X5 was having someting done was a Meganne, it had a sticker on the back saying J-Lo -it must have been sold because it's getting around Dunedin now. They do look a bit odd from the rear. Went good tho!
  20. The AU Failcon, especially the first of them the Forte has to be the worst for the Australian sector anyway. Not too sure presonally on the Compact, I'd love a 325ti as a run about.
  21. ^^ Lexus SC-430? Top Gear hated this too, not the best looking car.
  22. Hate them too, but I got friggen overtaken by a newer Prius on the way home from the crib on Monday morning, was on the flat and could easily have blown him away (I'm hoping) but I've never seen one being driven so hard!
  23. If it was a A4 1.8Turbo I understand the whole front of those needs to be removed to do the cambelt!
  24. BM's tend to be quite a bit more expensive over there, by the time you land it here and go through 10 buckets of anxiety pills dealing with the idiots and stress, I'd have to say it wouldn't be worth it for a non M3 non Alpina E30. Hold your horses and hold out for one in NZ?
