  1. Yeah I know the sound, I own a PC repair & sales shop. But no busted caps, it appears fine. I absolutely no nothing about Apple, how would I find out exactly what it is? Would a picture of the base suit?
  2. Thanks Kevin, that makes a bit more sense. As far as I can tell there's no limit on HDD size for an old machine such as this as I was a bit concerned about putting a 1TB in. The only issue now is finding that O/S ! Other issue I might have is I only have PC's - so is it possible to download the software onto PC, then ISO it to a disk in Apple format somehow? Or do I actually need the disks?
  3. Picked up a G5 for nothing today, they appear to be pretty well built machines, it asks to restart every time you turn it on and have absolutely no idea on what the issue is, I've put 2GB of RAM in and a 1TB HDD but I guess I need apple O/S disks. How hard and where can you obtain these from? After installing the new 1TB HDD it comes up with the safari icon thing flashing with question mark? (only reason I know that is because I own an iPhone) Cheers
  4. 70% of the noise has gone, it was on my way home from having the clutch done that I reported the noise in my previous post, however in 4th gear say 1100rpm foot flat it is quite noisey, then again, should be in another gear. Overall, it is slightly louder but only because I'm used to the way it was. Overall, happy, it had to be done.

    Merry Christmas!

Yay! Every day is one day closer to not having christmas carols on the radio. MC & HNY all.
  6. It would have to be if it had that gearbox...
  7. To put a SMG box in it would cost more than 7k??? If that gearbox was out of a M5 it would be thinking "hmmmm, maybe I'm hooked up to an M5's starter motor these days"
  8. Ok, so new clutch fitted, holds down the torque now but has to go back... Something has gone wrong with the exhaust, under full throttle at say 1500rpm it is deafening! Ear drum popping bass type sound!
  9. Don't loose ya bloody keys then, I've got 3 for my 3 series, two main keys, one little grey one. "He estimates between $1.50 and $2.50 to manufacture a key" - I don't think so...

    F10 M5

Looks like a cross between a Jag & Peugeot, nice car but not for me if I had to choose across that class personally.

    F10 M5

Many of the big car reviewers rate the 535d as "pretty much perfect" - words from JC - if you want more power from it, get it remapped! In the looks department that 535d is probably the best looking sedan money can buy at the moment IMO.
  12. Ha no, but what was it like? No lights on the dash work, bushes rooted, drove like an old pig?
  13. Hate to say this, but I've seen many BMW/Mercedes with this kind of mileage, yet I've never seen any petrol Japanese car with that kind of mileage on the clock, looks in good nick, 15kAUD tho? Nope.

    F10 M5

I immediately suspected that was the car, god damned that's nice. Like the wheels.

Congrats Matt, the M535d must be a nice unit all the same, would love a drive of the M550d... With having 2200kms did the director of the comany not know something was up cash wise when he purchased lol? What was the company on the news??? Shakes head! Pictures are a must once it arrives.

    M135i

This is the same chap that kinda ran down the new M550d - what person in their right mind would do that? Even without driving it myself I can telll that that car is brilliant, I guess he expected an M5??? However, you can see what he was talking about with the ride on the two cars, the camera was shaking on the S3 and not in the BMW, the M135i looks brilliant and I'm warming up to those looks!
  17. So quite a costly exercise because some degenerate knuckledragging piece of sh*t wanted something they didn't want to work for.
  18. Bahahahaha, funniest thing I've heard all day!
  19. You're bloody insane not having it insured. Sad to hear that Glenn, down here we don't hear of these things happening, that job sounds like the perpetrator was organised, experienced. I leave my cars unlocked here on the road or in our driveway and certainly unlocked in the garage. A friend of mine had his letterboxed smashed over a few months ago in our area but that was the only thing I've heard of lol! On my old Holden Astra, keys could be disabled, I'm sure they can on an E90
  20. I heard this from the installer too, but the benefit's outweighed the cons, i.e cheaper and delivers more torque with a solid state.
  21. Too true with diesels, under 1500rpm on a hill especially you're wasting you're time. But in a manual like mine it's even more important to keep revs above that if you want to get up and running.
  22. The solid state is costing me $400 less, so if they're better it's a no brainer IMO. The wee car won't know itself, new brakes, new clutch, service, remap. It's coming a long way since I paid 6k for it a year ago.
  23. Worth a try? I asked him last year but it was a flat out no lol.
  24. I wonder if Kent is ready to sell this beauty yet? I keep checking this thread (in my favorites) every now and then...
