Nothing is ever straight forward! Would the screen head unit go straight in for a start though? Also, those Dynavin units were $1075 a year ago, and it would seem they've increased the price somewhat a lot!

Can anyone here advise what the best & most reasonable place to get parts for an E53? I'm after the TV as I want to add in a reversing camera as I've come close a few times to running over my 2 year old backing down a narrow driveway. I've found a TV on TRADEME but I have seen these a lot cheaper than this. Also, I imagine I can remove my standard head unit (see below pictured) and just jam in the TV unit?

Had to go and have a look once I'd finished work tonight, looks epic in person! Can't get over the size of the brakes and calipers & the fact it needs 2x latches for the bonnet to keep it nailed down! The one picks up the birds too!

I think they're just trying to cash in on the fact it's an ix with low kms and NZ New. Unfortunately that price bracket can get you a very nice BMW so it may be sitting on there for a while.

I'm not sure I'd ever buy one to use every day, in fact after thinking after finishing that last sentence I wouldn't. It's a toy, using that gearbox around town would make one suicidal and the extra wear & tear created from daily use would mean that you'd have more maintenance expenses than you would if you just used it once a week. I don't think these cars will become a E65 7 series i.e expensive to buy and maintain, and cheap as chips at only a few years old i.e 18k for a 2003 745i !!! If I was buying I wouldn't hesitate in purchasing the best warranty money could buy also...

The E90 320i's are great until you get owned off the lights by a 320d - have you considered a diesel?

I think I stated I have insurance through a broker which is NZI and Tower, but I have a UTV insured with them and I have a 5k excess and named operators. No one and it can be embarrassing actually, is allowed to drive it bar the main people on the policy especially offroad.

As the actual driver was acting for the company at the time it's the company that is responsible (i.e whilst he's on the payroll the company is responsible for him/her) and they should have had insurance for the damage and public liability insurance, most businesses have this which covers loss of income and or loss of productivity and depending on the policy they can cover either corporate or private clients (for damaged they have caused)

I would have done it provided I was the bridesmaids car ha! Hope they wouldn't have minded a 320d M Sport haha!

This poor bastard I'm not acquainted with the full facts on this but it appears that AMI won't pay these people out because they fell asleep at the wheel, now forgive me but wouldn't that be classed as an accident and isn't that the reason you have insurance to cover things such as accidents, theft, fire e.t.c. ? I'm not with AMI now because of an issue I had with them a few years back (they paid out on an item that was 6 months old but devalued it) - I've shifted everything to a broker which consists mostly of NZI and Tower. We deal with the odd insurance claim at work and find AMI the worst company of them all to deal with.

Anyone can ask a price for an item. It appears these days that things are only worth what someone is prepared to pay. I didn't start this thread to complain about it's price but I always laugh when people add in the NEW purchase price which on a high end luxury car was more than 10 years ago.

Haha well put. My Holdy is my favorite car! Chipped Stainless extractors Cam Cold air Single track exhaust which sounds better than my old 07 GTS Adjustable suspension Pioneer Bluetooth hands free head unit I had her panel and painted just before Christmas, so now it's one of those cars not worth selling LOL.

All aside, IMO Ford ownership is a mental health issue, unfortunately the health system is overstretched as it is so they're just left to wonder the streets aimlessly after their cars break down.

I thoroughly cleaned it with either thinners or turps or what ever it was.

I tried to be hero by painting my engine covers red. I cleaned them up and gave them a 300 light sand and then applied the 500F red engine paint for it to fail hard. WTF has The Diesel Guy done wrong? Some kind of contamination? Please see below pics for failure viewing.

Anyone used THESE? I'd be keen to see how the look if possible. Mine are kinda dull and I guess it's just a case of replacing 2x bulbs? Cheers.

Without sounding too horrid, I think it's because of the "BANG for buck" LOL Great car to own, just make sure the warranty is a goodin!
