If its got a bad gearbox now I wouldn't touch it. I have a mech insurance on my 318 and have claimed a couple of times. I rang the company they gave me a list of people I could take my car to and just said tell them to call for order number. Real simple.

My Compact built in Germany has the ///M and 318ti on the back which is standard for this model seeing as how it is a M spec (Motorsport) it also has a badge on the side trim at the doors (motorsport International) which I understand are also from the factory. Dont know how rare these mouldings are but have seen a few in overseas forum, not that many but a few.

One Ti owner to another leave the ///M badge and make the 318 to 328 with the Ti after it and leave the diffuser black because that's how they come from factory. i would leave as sleeper edit spelling

No car is made to pull any direction that's just the camber of the roads that do that.

One thing to do (only if you have nondirectional tyres ) is swop the front tyres from left to right - right to left this will show if it is an alignment problem or the tyres have set themselves to pull in one direction. No I'm not kidding you tyres can set themselves up to do the pull to one side thing. If they are directional tyres swop front to rear. The wobble in the steering could be a number of things ranging from bent rim to worn steering/suspension/brake components. This should have been picked up by the alignment guy because you cant do an alignment if the wheel is buckled or steering/suspension components are worn. Going by you saying the steering wheel is not centered I would be concerned that the person that done the alignment might not really have the expertise that they should have. I was an alignment tech for a few years a while back and had a pretty good rep, not blowing my own horn here but I do have a bit of knowledge. With out seeing or inspecting the car no one could really give you a qualified answer to your concerns. The next step I would suggest is to take the car to someone who knows BMW's or someone you trust.

I don't think anyone has posted this so I will There is a new program on Discovery called Chop Shop London Garage. 7.30 Tuesdays The basics of the program is 2 guys (a Londoner and a Bangladeshi) find wrecked cars and make them into high performance super cars. What a friggin laugh. You just gotta see the program. The first car they do is a E36 coupe. Watch it and see what not to do to a Beema.
