lol sounds like one of those questions that starts off with, "my friend has this um .... problem ..." Before I bought for the E36 I have now, I test drove a couple of e46 compacts ... the 318ti felt very underpowered. But in saying that, I didn't find any manual one's, so I'm only basing that on the auto version. Don't even bother with the 316ti unless you only want it for going to the supermarket, or are on a really tight fuel budget. I didn't get to try out a 323ti though, 2.5 l6 engine so could be alright.

hahaha awesome I'm gonna have to try that

I saw a red E36 coupe today with the same spoiler and it didn't quite look right. But on the darker coloured bmw's it looks really good.

yea I'm on the same plan, I really like it much better than the $20 I was giving to Vodafone every month for 150 texts and nothing else

Land Transport (Enforcement Powers) Amendment Bill
Wom replied to bravo's topic in General Discussion
I was following a guy towing a trailer this morning. You could not see his car at all because of the trailer and the stuff on it. He did not have the trailer lights hooked up (the trailer did have lights, just not working / hooked up). I had to leave a huge gap, because every time he braked, he would brake hard and I would have to brake even harder because I couldn't see his goddamn brake lights. He also nearly wiped out another car when he moved from the fast lane to the slow lane (because no-one could see any indicators going either). When he was in the fast lane, he had a clear road in front of him, yet was only doing 80kph. This sort of driving is far more dangerous than some car with a loud exhaust. -
damn there's some crazy mofo's out there Worst I've had is going through McD's drive-through at 2am and coz they close the shop and make everyone walk through drive-through, I'm usually sitting there in my car with heaps of drunk people hanging around waiting for their food and asking me for a ride. someone mentioned carrying a bat ... my mate used to carry a baseball bat in his car until the cops told him off ... they said that it could be deemed an offensive weapon as no-one has a reason to have one in their car at 3am lol

that's one of the reasons why I voted for the E30 ... 2 door ftw

Alleged BMW road rage attack leaves van driver critical

I used to be one lol They are serious pieces of rubbish Ask anyone who works at DVS about their fleet of Camry's and how many are on the original headgasket -
I have this one too; the booklet states that there should be a $250 excess on my car (special vehicle - which is basically anything European) ... but the policy document I have states $0 excess and they haven't tried charging me one yet (2 claims on $0 excess).

I implied that one single Camry owner is foolish for thinking they are the best cars in the world. That's just a wee-bit different from everyone else straight out saying that every beemer owner is a wanker / moron / aggressive idiot etc. -

I got rid of quite a bit of old car parts at the dump and they didn't say anything, so I guess it was alright I think most dumps have different sections where you can leave scrap metal, tyres, batteries etc

this has got a few people at work going on about how anyone who drives an old bmw is a wanker etc an e36 isn't even old!! needless to say I've had an interesting last couple of days at work, especially when one guy said "who'd want to drive one of those anyway?" - That came from a guy who drives a Camry and thinks it's one of the best cars ever made oh well, at least they've stopped giving me heaps for living out in upper hutt -
I have a Canon Powershot A560 and it seems to be alright for a cheap camera. 7.1 megapixel one thing to remember is that xd memory cards are more expensive than the sd cards so if you're concerned about that, then check what the camera takes first

Over the years I've had Pioneer, Sony, JVC and Kenwood. JVC is my favourite out of the 4 different brands I've used, Kenwood would be 2nd on my list. I have used Alpine before, but they were only the stock units which were all tape players, so can't really compare to the others I've had. [edit] currently using a JVC KD-G631 not exactly top of the line, but for a cheapish headunit it seems to do the trick quite nicely

I do about 750 to 800kms a week. Mostly motorway driving but during peak hour, so usually only doing 40kph lol I alternate between my car and my gf's car (dirty pulsar) each week.

Hi, I'm after some various bits and pieces ... First up, my car is a Jap import and I would like to change the black strip on the front bumper from the small Japanese version to a proper euro version. My car is a 1997 e36 323i with the motorsport kit on it (photos here if required - http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....howtopic=19688) I need a full set of BMW locknuts and the tool (my car came with them, but the tool in the boot was different to the locknuts, so had to break the old one's off). Also I need the thumb screw that secures the toolkit to the bootlid (part number 71111117440 according to RealOEM). Cheers

I've had 2 repairs on my E36 done through the mechanical warranty with very little hassle. The only real problem was that the insurance company (Autosure) like to source their own parts, so it took a lot longer to get fixed than if the mechanic was sorting out the parts himself. The warranty has saved me around $1200 worth of repairs in the 11 months that I've owned the car. No excess either

when my mate cut his dreads off (with tin snips!!) he left a few dreads at the back ... dread mullett!! but then again I do live in Upper Hutt, so it is to be expected

I guess they got rid of the pay by credit card option? It was a few months ago I got mine

Yea it was shocking in Wellington too. When it's dry, everyone drives like a maniac. When it's wet, everyone drives like they do when it's dry. At least a majority of the drivers use their lights though; but in saying that, quite a few people had their fullbeams on for no apparent reason other than to blind or dazzle other drivers. I took the girlfriend's Pulsar to work because I didn't want anything to happen to the BMW

what colour is the VW? old or new? (I'm guessing old) I'm in Upper Hutt, so if I see it I'll grab the plate number for you

definitely do it through a bank, you'll get the cheapest interest rate and they'll actually try to help you and not rip you off I got mine through National, started off on 10.50% but as the Reserve Bank kept raising interest rates, my loan kept going up. Wound up at 11.75% in the end, which is still a fairly good interest rate for a non-mortgage loan. All paid off now, extra $90 a week in my pocket

update on the car ... it ended up being the viscous coupling

I've had no problems dealing with State, damn site cheaper then what AA, AMI and Tower all quoted me. State is $425 per annum for full cover, the other 3 all quoted me over a grand (AA was the highest at a touch over $1200). One claim so far, no problems with State, but the panelbeater did take a long time to repair it (about 6 weeks). Although in saying that, he did do an excellent job and I'd rather have a slow perfect job then a rushed average job.
