  1. Haha link your showroom pics Sam - that's just too damn dark ;)

Good luck with the sale mate

It's all in the monitor :P I have some more recent pics at home (after it was lowered) Will add tonight!

  2. Yeah, I'd say its worth 12-11k, Provided (as simon mentioned) that perishable items such as bushes, Intake manifold seals etc, etc are ok. Because if they're not, then its going to be an expensive car.

Mine for example i paid slightly less than $4k for it, but have spent $3k on it since, and to be completely happy with it I still need to spend another $4k or so. And it still has 130,000 more Km's on the clock than this example.

  3. I seriously don't trust myself to do it. I only know one tool and it's a hammer. The guy used an orbital and Mothers but he said he also used a rubbing compound. When I first got it back before Christmas it looked tops, bar the fact the dust was sticking to it far far far more than it was before. Because it's black I wash it 3 times a week & after a week you could notice the swirls. He redone it two weeks ago and once again it looked great, then a week later it returned to the fail that it is atm. I'm using Dura-Seal car wash, it's $48 per 1 litre bottle & I've always used it.

When I had my Range Rover I took it to him aswell. The car came back brilliant to when it first went in, it never wore off and it always gleamed & he claims he's used the same technique as this time round.

Best way to fix that would be Wash, Clay, Mild polish, Wax. All by hand. Should take the better part of a day.

  4. Nice unit - has everything I'd ever want.

Cheers - doubt it'll be at my price point though. Whilst I am making the step up from cheap off-the shelf boxed systems, I'm not really in the market for anything other than the low end of the mid-range stuff.

Fair enough. I did the same about 8 months ago, but now I am finding I'm going to have to replace the Yamaha RX-V363 i bought then when I upgrade my TV.

  5. Audio input for tv broadcasts will come from freeview receiver anyway, and audio from PS3 can come via optical from PS3. I've been advised to buy an AVR that has a few other "important" features and sacrifice HDMI through the AVR if required rather than the other way around.

Yeah, I'm aware that my budget is limited for speakers, but they'll be 1000 times better than what I have now, and I can always upgrade later as finances allow - at least this way I am getting the basics right. I've got a small living room as it is, and my ears are hardly what you'd call finely tuned. More like cauliflowers stuffed with cotton wool.

    *nods*

Though be aware that you will not get the true HD audio over optical that HDMI 1.3/1.4 will provide.

I'd go for something like this:

    http://www.pioneernz.co.nz/default.asp?Obj...ckCode=VSX819HK

I'bve seen it waaay below that RRP at JbHiFi. Just cant remember exactly how much.

  6. Make sure your amp is capable of processing audio. If it's labelled as HDMI 'Passthrough', then it will strip the audio from the signal and you'll have to use an optical cable etc, losing the benefits of bluray audio over HDMI.

    Very annoying.

Though you might need to up your budget a touch if you want decent speakers too.

Edit: This is possibly what Wom was saying.
