  1. I bought my first BMW 320i back in 2004, sold in 2006. Met a few people through bimmersport. I believe the E36 was wrapped around a tree in 2007. Ended up looking as below before I sold it. More recently I've had an E61 525i with M Sport goodies. So many awesome features on this wagon, very comfortable to drive but didn't have the excitement factor. Next up I'm thinking 335i M Sport with a stage 1 tune after a while. No point in doing it straight away otherwise I might not appreciate the improved performance. Not sure if I'll end up with a coupe, sedan or touring variant.
  2. I've also had one of the Save Barn alloy units crap out. Although it did last for a few years at the race track doing quite a bit of work. I've actually just bought 4 axles stands and a solid 3.5T trolley jack, again from Save Barn. The only thing is the minimum height is 120mm but I don't have any lowered cars anymore. The axles stands were $23 a pair!

    Shorty's new beema

Looking good Shorty. I like it more than the black E36 in your sig but still like that E30. The wheels are a good choice. The 318is will be a great car once you've got the manual box in it. A mate used to have one and it was a fun car to drive. Very low kms mean you should be able to drive it for a while with it not depreciating too much in the near future. Always fun having a new car
  4. Worst - 1991 Prelude - absolutely no back seat, drivers seat is out of the question and I was too big to get my legs into the passengers side footwell lol. Best - back seat of the E36

    FS: 2001 330i E46

Hey guys, My boss is selling his 2001 E46 330i. Very tidy car, bog standard - has the standard alloys etc. Dark Green (Sherwood?) Black leather Auto 99500kms Anyone interested? Looking for offers as we're not sure what it's worth.
  6. A taxi we caught a few weeks ago was rocking these - strangely comfortable by they look like utter sh*t. The driver was a mad man - even I though I was sh*t faced I could tell we were doing double the residential speed limit. He offered me his card incase I wanted to use him on the Saturday night too
  7. Those BBS rims are my favourite wheels ever!! That car looks fantastic

    RJ's new ride

Hey Tom, yeah I've got the airbox - I bought FLYRYD's mk2 Mugen intake and traded that with Mark for his mk1 and some other goodies. Mark's tidy up has gone WAY overboard - going to be an amazing car though. Tairuas are fun in any car - just go to remember it's a long way down the sides of the banks. The last few months I've been going down I have been in 4wds... Discovery and Touareg for towing the boat.

    RJ's new ride

I will make a trip to Pukekohe at some stage, will bring my dad along too and he can have a fang in the car - he's driven round Puke hundreds of times - he used to race Escorts. Recently though he's been eyeing up E30's for the new class. Not sure how serious he is but as mum said he doesn't even have time to move the lawn. I say the lawn can wait

    RJ's new ride

Funny you should ask for the Togue pics... I'm going up the beach house on Saturday afternoon, really looking forward to the drive through the Tairua hills. Yeah going to do some track work - NZHondas track day is at the end of October, looking forward to it but quite nervous. Need to remember that even though my surname is McLaren I have not inherited the genes of Bruce

    RJ's new ride

Just got back from dyno tuning at Beyond - initial run was 121.4kw, now tuned it's running 132.3kw. So very happy with an 11kw increase. It's smoother the VTEC change over so it doesn't feel like such a kick but it's deffinately quicker.

    RJ's new ride

I used Dave at Auto Mechanix in Tokorora - I picked the car up from Taupo and my mate has used him a lot before so used him on my way home. He's done the cert and is sending the cert plate to an Auckland certifier to put on my car at some stage - currently just have the receipt for cert in the glovebox in case I have any troubles. The engine bay was covered in smog when I got it - it's had the service from nam, all belts and fluids replace
  13. I had a silver 325 tail gating me up the motorway on Tuesday, I could tell what it was until it went past me - nice looking car. The driver was even better!!

    RJ's new ride

Thanks for the comments guys. It's a 1997, the price increase to get a tidy 98spec just wasn't worth it - instead I got a low km (85000kms) 1997 with top shelf parts on it. I paid $11000 for the car itself but then all the shipping, compliance, certification etc ads up afterwards. In the end I've paid about the normal NZ market price but as above it's got low kms, top shelf parts and is straight as an arrow. The handling is fantastic - for example I co-drived for a mate in his ITR race car. The key difference to my car being a lack of interior and a roll cage in his. We came 6th out of 64 cars - the only cars in front of us were 3 Skylines (700-800bhp), an ex Wellington Street race champion Sierra and a Toyota MRS. It shows the lightweight cars really can handle well and keep up with the big guns. The 'R' is not my plate - I blanked out the numbers but obviously missed one pic. The wheel nuts are uber JDM and are SUPER lightweight lock nuts so they serve a valuable purpose. I think they look good against the gun metal wheels because they offset the dark color. They also match the valve caps that came on the car. The wheels are ridiculously light too which helps the power/weight ratio - adjustable suspension is great too - and all cert'd

    RJ's new ride

Hey guys, I sold the BMW about 3 months ago and have been driving a matt black Honda City since then. Over the weekend I picked up my 1997 Honda Integra Type R. It's come with uber JDM goodies - Buddy Club wheels, Cusco adjustable suspension, Pro 1 headers, full stainless exhaust - all sorts of stuff that I didn't expect to find. Pics are below - have had it certified for the adjustables, alarm installed with some clever tricks to get it started and having it dyno tuned on Thursday - looking forward to seeing what she's putting out. Racing at Meremere on Saturday before going for a nice long drive to the beach house on the Coromandel.
  16. Sounds just like someone has hired the track and to cover costs has opened up entry. I'm racing my new car down at Meremere on Saturday morning, a mate of a mate hired out the track so we should get a decent number of runs. I've never actually run at the Nightspeed purely because the number of competitors that turn up mean you get bugger all runs. Nightspeed season; Friday 3rd November 2006 Night Speed Drag Wars #1 Friday 17th November 2006 Night Speed Drag Wars #2 Friday 1st December 2006 Night Speed Drag Wars #3 Friday 19th January 2007 Night Speed Drag Wars #4 Friday 16th February 2007 Night Speed Drag Wars #5 Friday 2nd March 2007 Night Speed Drag Wars #6 – Final Race entry $35 plus $15 NZDRA affiliation fee The price is getting up there.
  17. I had an alarm put in my new car today - Advance Sound and Security - really good service. The guys name is Danny - he's got some auctions on TradeMe otherwise try www.advancesas.co.nz Pic of my car just in case anyone cares;
  18. Hah that was a crack up - when did Kermit start speaking German?
  19. I loved this email - got it at work the other day. I like to give pedestrians a hurry up - especially at the 277 crossing as mentioned above. They have no respect for traffic. I was in town the other in my sisters Civic. Light went green so I went to go then a guy walked in front of me and mouthed of. He got the kip right back, swung round to kick the car but caught his foot in the drain grate - MAGIC!! Oh and to finish off the story I was driving up High street looking for a carpark and Gus pulled out - thanks for the park.

    MY E36

That looks bloody nice. Nice M3 kit, good ride height and some great looking rims
  21. I've always liked your car dude, really clean look with a subtle amount of bling. On a side note - the 17yo stunner (with trust fund in tow) that bought my car said he was bagging it the first week he had it. Anyone seen it scraping round AKL?
  22. It seems to be a common problem with these 'one stop' performance shops. They don't seem to do that little extra for their customers as opposed to the specialist shops.
  23. Bump it up - all $1 reserve closing on Saturday morning.
