That sounds extremely expensive. I did mine myself and it only took a couple of hours in a small garage. I did get my parts wholesale but they were $200 absolute max - can't remember the exact price.

I love the out of Aucklanders' stereo type of Aucklanders.I love this. Dudes who can't handle their sh*t. I was thinking the same thing. People crash cars - it's a fact of life, all sorts of powered cars are crashed due to stupid mistakes. My one was no different and thank for it was only a guard I had to replace...I have heard this car, then seen it... It's is/was beautiful.

That's a 65L tank and it generally costs around $80 to fill.

My E36 320i Auto does a full tank of 96 for 340/360km - this is either stop start traffic on the motorway (30mins to do 15kms) or putting my foot down on the motorway if there isn't traffic. Fuel economy wasn't high on my list of priorities when I bought it.

What repair does your car need to warrant $5800 from a dealer?

Good stuff dude. There's quite a bit of tree theft at the mo - especially the fancy palms generally found outside town houses and offices. I saw on the news recently some company has designed a shock sensor that is wired into the building alarm so if the plant is moved more than normal all systems are go!!

Me too!! Just out of interest have you contacted a wrecker? My rear has fallen apart after years of sun and abuse - I assume yours is the same...

I've got 5.25's through my E36 and they JUST fit - they do have fairly serious sized magnets though.

That's a SERIOUS looking drift project. People use the term 'drift project' so loosely these days. That looks awesome though, on ya!!

Yep - with the number plate to match - it's hawt!!I was at Cooks Beach where there were a few nicely modded E36's, couple of silver E39 M5's, and a handful of X5's at the boat ramp.

That's a great list - due to a fair amount of long haul driving I get a wheel alignment just before Christmas just to make sure I'm pointing in a straight line - also had my tyres rotated for free - cheers Firestone Airport!!

Slightly off topic but I saw a black M6 parked outside Wildfire in town lastnight. Can't confirm if it was deffinately an M6 but it deffinatly was a black 6 with the M6 wheels on it - I wasn't getting out of the cos it was pouring down. Looked good.

How reliable are M50 engines, and e36 generally?
*RJ* replied to lordandrevv's topic in General Discussion
My 320 is nearing 157kms and the only engine problem I've had was with the viscous coupling on the fan - it jammed, the fan spun off and ripped through the radiator - fun times!! Other than I service it with good oil every 5000-7500kms and it's still going well. Random problem I had last week - battery terminal snapped when I went over a decent bump. I thought something was seriously wrong but the force of the battery hitting the bump and the terminal must have had a fracture in it... Very enjoyable car for long trips, love the sound of the 6. -
Hands off it!! I'm watching that too.

Ahhh grasshopper... If you're running from people seriously you don't use the brakes... or if you need to pull the handbrake... Up to you how hard you pull it

Looking good, watch those curbs!!

I don't like to generalise but I got hit and runned by a FOB Asian. My Civic was parked opposite his house and he hit the gas while reversing and hit my car (wrote it off). I did my own investigation work (followed the skid marks and glass fragments and found a smashed car round the back of his house). Anyway... He said he didn't understand bla bla bla, miraculously his wallet popped open with the mention of Police and I didn't have to go through insurance he gave me a wad of cash - paid for the repairs and I got rid of the car anyway.

5.25" JUST fit under the factory covers in the front and I mounted my cross overs under the dash. The 5.25's in the rear actually sit up, I haven't taken to the car with a hacksaw yet.

Welcome, did I spy you in Takapuna this afternoon? If it was you, you might have seen mine parked opposite Wendys.

Yeah I'm a long time NZHer. Spanky is a good mate of mine - we're always getting into mischeif together. Are you saying you want it slightly lower than mine or slightly lower than what your is currently? Post up some pics of yours.

I've got the Jamex super low 6cyl springs in my car (my understanding is 4cyl springs are slightly softer???). They give the car a really nice ride height and it handles really nicely through corners etc... Can be a bit bumpy but all lowered cars are. I've also added a front strut brace to reduce flexing and am currently thinking about a rear one depending on ease of installation around my sub box.

Deffinately Europlate and debadge the boot...But I think the chrome kidneys suit the car with the subtle chrome in the headlights and the wheels. The black kidneys on this would make it look like something was missing.

Just found this on TradeMe; http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...on-41322753.htm Note - N1 Kits have gone into voluntary liquidation so they won't be much help to you. FBI are great to deal with.

E36 320i - debadged for increased street cred and mystery
