I'm pretty sure the 4.0 straight 6 turbo develops peak torque from about 2000rpm. Where as the v8's peak torque is at 4250rpm.

Reliability will be a bit questionable in my opinion. From what I've seen, as soon as Aussie made fords get over 100,000km it's like someone flicks a switch and they start falling apart. My folks old Territory was great, but it started driving (and sounding) like a tractor after a while. The brakes discs warped and the dealer failed to fix them (several attempts later), so there was a pretty awful shimmy under braking. Everything started loosening up quite badly (steering, interior, suspension, gearbox). It was like you could feel it falling apart around you. They flicked it off before anything expensive needed replacing. I'm sure it's like anything though, there will be good and bad ones out there. Make sure you get the 6 speed auto, it transforms the whole car. 4 speed is a POS.

I think you're forgetting BMW is better at making engines than the french! 330d = 180 kW and 521 N·m @ 1750-3000rpm (Closest capacity to the 2.7 Pug) 320d = 130 kW and 350 N·m @ 1750rpm

I purposely stay away from online banking. Makes for pretty depressing reading most of the time.

Looks mint. You're photography is stunning.

No offence taken. My rant was an avenue to channel my frustration at the media. I also apologise if it seemed as though it was directed at you.

Yeah, that's a pretty average weekend for me and my mates. Get shitfaced, steal a late model German performance car and a bunch of firearms, commit grand theft auto, then crash at 250km/h. No. This isn't the norm. As a (fairly) responsible teenager, I'm getting really sick and tired of the "Teenagers drink too much, commit too many crimes and behave and drive badly." attitude. Sure, there are some complete tools amongst my age group who should be shot for the stupid things they do, but don't write all of us off as irresponsible respect-less idiots. The media is so good at sensationalising. When these "teenagers behaving badly" stories come up once or twice a week people start thinking that every teenager is out there doing this kind of crap on a daily basis. Don't tell me things have changed either, because I know for a fact older generations took their fair share of risks way back when too.

I think as long as the tread of the tyre is within the wheel arch it's legal. Love the photos on the previous page.

I'd rather regular tui than that crap. But yeah, free piss, can't complain. Cheers

There's a couple of e30 m3 kits at a hobby shop here in Tauranga. The picture on the box is like this from memory. OP: Cool looking model. How long did it take?
-
Some of these. As you can see, they look sick with some big brakes like yours.

Nice! I've got the Poorer man's version. I'm so happy with it. So many useful little features, like the remote. It's great for watching movies. Windows 7 kicks ass too.

Diesel performance car... That's definitely unique.

Wow that's so tidy. Amazingly clean engine bay. You must take incredibly good care of your car's. I love the colour and the wheels. You could probably get some product from repco to touch up those scrapes on the bumper strips for not a lot of money.

Your Top 3 most rubbish cars you have driven
kingkarl replied to Driftit's topic in General Discussion
1. 1975 Renault 12. Carb'd 1300, Four on the floor. No brakes, no power steering, no horsepower and no cornering abilities. The driving position is unbelievably bad. 2. 1988 Toyota Corona Sedan. The shitty 1500cc one with the 3 speed auto. This was one seriously rough car and it drove like an absolute animal. 3. 1977 Ford Fairmont. It had a 351 v8 in it which was super awesome, but the suspension/steering was unbelievably bad. There was about 1/3 of a rotation of free play in the steering. Trying to keep that thing from floating all over the place was a mission. The rears rubbed on the guards too, so you couldn't carry any speed through corners. The 3 speed auto is a piece of crap too. -
Doesn't take a genius to guess this guy's ethnic background! You mean Waikato Draught? haha

That is tragic. He deserves to be shot for that abomination.

+1 You've made me laugh twice in this thread which is more than the last week combined on Bimmersport!

I used the same wiring kit as you when I first installed my sub. I broke the original blue RCA leads and replaced them with some better quality (or more expensive at least) ones 18 months later. I might be imagining things, but I'm pretty sure that the sound quality of those blue ones is comparatively quite poor. Judging by the pics it looked like quite a mission to get everything installed!

This is probably my favourite project right now. What colour are you painting it? What's the haps with all the pistons/rods on the parcel shelf?

A guy walks into a bar with his giraffe. He orders four beers, two for him and two for the giraffe. The giraffe is a light weight and passes out on the floor. The guy starts to get up to leave after paying and the bartender says, "Hey man, you can't just leave that lyin' there." The guy replies, "That's not a lion, that's a giraffe."

I came really close to buying a ticket, but couldn't justify the price. I would love to see them though. I'm going to homegrown instead. It's cheaper and will be about 6x longer with a better variety of music.

This forum hardly rates on the flame scale. I know what you're talking about however, and sometimes it's deserved, but often it isn't. In before lock.

Wow, looks like a whole new car with that paint job. It's a much nicer colour too. N/A 24v FL e30 awesomeness. Did you end up selling the old engine? Feel free to ignore this question if you want, but how did court go? When are you back behind the wheel again (legally)?
