Hey team Looking for something similar to the below to mount euro plates on a R56 Mini without drilling holes in the plates. Does anyone know if and where something like this is available locally? Cheers!

Long time no update! Probably because there is nothing really to update. I got a company car a few months ago and free gas keeps me out of the BMW most days but it was long overdue a clean so thought I'd bring it into work for the day. After driving a Toyota Corolla for 3 months it's nice to sit in a real car again.

2 18 x 8.5 w/ 235/40 ATR Sport 2 18 x 9.5 w/ 265/35 GT Radial Unsure of offsets. Came off an E39 5 Series. Good tyres all round. Wheels are in good condition. Worst curbing shown in photos. Will do a better deal for members than TM price. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=802160736

The car currently has factory wheel setup on it as I thought it could be bore size/locator ring thing too. -
E34 wobble over 80kph/under braking - FIXED

That's my thinking too. I bought new tyres for the rear less than a month ago so rears don't need doing. What? Last time I had discs skimmed it cost around $40. Genuine new discs are $500. Aftermarket around $200. -
Thanks! Pelican Parts list ATE as OEM supplier, just wanted to make sure. NZ pricing is around $500 for two front rotors it seems.

What brand are genuine/OEM E34 brake rotors?

E34 wobble over 80kph/under braking - FIXED
roo replied to roo's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Cheers guys. As said in first post, I've already replaced drag link, sway bar links and tie rods due to them all being shot/sloppy. So really the only front suspension parts I haven't done are upper and lower control/thrust arms. I may end up doing these regardless. Car has done 180kms so why not. Starting with front wheel balance and brake rotor skim and then re-evaluate. Although I would have thought that both of these would get much worse with speed, whereas my issue is just around 80-100kph which lines up with what a lot of people on the net have experienced when dealing with worn thrust arms. http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?930392-What-repairs-have-fixed-your-e34-shimmy -
E34 wobble over 80kph/under braking - FIXED
roo replied to roo's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Traction arm/thrust arm could be culprit after reading this: -
Hi team My E34 has a slight wobble between 90-110kmh that gets a lot worse under braking. I have recently replaced the drag link, tie rods and sway bar links as these were all shot and this has made it much better and tighter but there is still a slight wobble and can get pretty bad under braking, often it feels worse if I'm turning right. The fact it's worse under braking - does this immediately point to warped/old discs or can braking amplify a bad wheel balance/worn out suspension bush too? I know the car has non-genuine front discs and pads and that BMW's typically don't like non-genuine brake stuff. I am going to have the front wheels balanced on the off chance that fixes it and then that can be removed from the equation. Any ideas?

Thanks guys. Did this over the weekend, super easy. Both headrests weren't working so did them with the seats in place and then removed the passenger seat to fix the twist. Really happy to have it all working now!

Wasn't this on TM about 4 or 5 months ago for $16k ish? KMs and colour seem the same and number plate rings a bell. http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=763836103

While there are more E39's and E46's there isn't exactly a shortage of E34/36's though. It's interesting! Did you have any trouble selling the 540i Jules? (Or do you still have it?)
-
Has anyone else been keeping tabs on E34 and E39 540i pricing lately? It seems a good condition, well optioned NZ new E34 540i is listed on TM for more than a non motorsport E39. Are these E34's listed for over $6k selling or just sitting on there for ages? The same thing is happening with E36 v E46. Is it just because the E39/46's are still depreciating whereas the E34/36 have already hit the bottom and now coming up slightly as enthusiasts want them? And as nice ones are becoming hard to find? What is a good condition, well optioned, motorsport and NZ new E34 540i worth these days? '96 E34 540i 150kms w/ leather etc $5,200 http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-757008261.htm '98 E39 540i 160kms w/ leather etc $4,500 http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-763808252.htm

Did you do it with the seat in the car Brent? Or remove it?
-
Hi guys Passenger seat on my E34 twists when you go to recline it. Only one side moves back and forth while the other stays still. Common problem it seems for E34's and E39's. Has anyone had success using the below methods? First one seems super easy without having to remove the seat, people in the comments said it worked for them too.

E34 OBC Errors - Tail, Lisc Plate, Dip Beam, Brake - SOLVED
roo replied to roo's topic in Electrical system
Finally got around to unplugging the headlight adjusters (after 3 lots of CRC and skinned knuckles) and no more errors! Thanks Brent & co. -
I'd wait for Jekyll to come back with some info on the loopy loops. That's your only real option.
