    Moving on up.

Have to say, same as evryone else, love the colour! Its awesome.
  2. Yeah, i definitely know the rush will be gone, but i think i could deal with that haha. As long as i can make it sound as quick I am really likeing the style of the E21, its so different compared to the E30 and the Baur is just awesome. Or rather it could be We'll see if my racecars legal soon enough, can't sell the suby till then at the earliest
  3. Yeah, I had my 320 insured for just over $300 before i modified it haha, but im not massively fussed on cheapest right now, I've applied for a job in the airforce so if i get in then cash-flow wont be a problem, and if i dont... well i'll keep on delivering pizza for now haha. My car should be worth at least 3k i'd imagine, leaving me a bit of room hopefully... What about the bauer? I'm not sure, but I can't see a reason for it to fail a WoF apart from the rear windscreen.... is a hood + screen even a requirement for a 'vert? (Just thinking maybe i could get the current owner to get it a WoF as is if i decided i want it )
  4. Yeah, that is a little off-putting. The whole car seems to suggest poor maintanence, looking at the interior details, but i dont mind a little project. I mean it is cheap.
  5. Hmm.. just thinking about the $600 i could save on insurance I just need to be convince that either A. im stupid or B. its a good idea
  6. Ok, so I'm thinking about ditching my Twin Turbo RS Legacy for a daily driver E30 or E21, but i don't know if i should See the thing is, i will probably miss the power, and does an E30 really look as good? Keep in mind I'm young (19) and single, not so into my Rice but its what people my age seem to know... Just after some opinions, i've seen a very good looking e21 that needs some work on trademe, as well as plenty of 318 E30s for about $3k, which is what i believe my subaru to be worth. So will i regret it? Or will i be stoked with the better fuel economy? BTW my other car is an E30 320 racer... Links: E30 E21 Edit: Would also love to have a sunroof again!! I loved mine for the 3 weeks i had it before i taped it shut to stop the leaks and then cut it out Edit2: or even a Bauer? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-275515497.htm My car:

    E30 320i Racecar

Ok so I'm making a list and checking it twice. Lots to do but at the same time not much, and it all needs prioritising lol. Hopefully with some help from some of the awesome guys on here it will have the new heart in this weekend and be well on it's way to a full road-legal and maybe even race-ready recovery Here's my list so far, just so i can come back and check what else there is to do -Touch up cage (side intrusions, seatbelt bar) -Secure belts (cable ties!!) -Rollcage padding (passengers side) -Swap engine -Authority card -WoF -Rego -Paint trailing arms -Rear subframe bushes -Discs machined? New discs? -Install disc rear -Paint roof -Touch-up paint tailight -Paint interior? -Check out rust/battery box -Wheels and tyres -Front suspension bushes Anyone got any suggestions on anything I'm missing? lol im sure theres more work i could be doing but I always think of things at the most awkward moments I'm hoping to get it road-legal dor the WGTN event on the 1st weekend of April, so pressures on! Race-ready by the 1st intermarques maybe, but i do have a course starting in May (maybe?!) to save for too.... Haha i'll just have to make sure i have enough for 17 weeks of 2-minute noodles and get studylink to pay the rest
  11. Well they say the 320 has the power of the 1.8 with the economy of the 2.5, so i wouldn't really recommend it for being good on gas haha.
  12. Ok, one more thing... in it's default window size when it first starts it comes up with a message across the top that reads "You may be logged out of Facebook in you....." Perhaps this needs to flow onto a second line so that it's readable in the default width? I don't really want to have to make it any wider
  13. Awesome idea, will certainly be testing this out soon!! I hate FB chat Will be interesting to see how reliable this is, will it get around the continual chat "connection" errors and double postings?

    My rights

Not enough! But if i ever need to get mine fixed and I'm up north I know where I'm going now! Thats some awesome business practice there!
  15. I have to agree with a lot of whats said here. This forum seems to me to be very much a "help" type forum as opposed to something like Kiwibiker, which is heavily "social" oriented. Personally i think the nature of this site, as it was when i first joined, where it was purely about BMWs, and not about who thinks/feels what, was much better. It has recently been descending into the beginnings of a "social" type forum where people post for no real reason, other than that they wanted to say something. Personally, myself I am only here because I'm trying to get into the racing too, so whatever happens I'm sure Bimmersport will still kinda be home for me

    E30 320i Racecar

Ok, so some good news. Since thats the theme and all I no longer need to sell my car because I am no longer a student, I've applied for the Airforce which will make finishing this off perfectly manageable. The bad news. So far its still sitting in my garage with the bonnet off, the radiator out and the old engine in with the new one on a pallet on the floor. I'll get there one day
  17. Sounds like a good move there. Much better idea then selling it! I've even decided i may keep mine, trying to join up to the airforce soon so if i'm in i can afford it too See you at manfield intermarques in 2ish years time?
  18. Hmm, i have a good body etc you could buy Hope you get it all sorted though, dont give up!! (And its not all NZ New PFLs have problems, sucks you got a bad one )
  19. Shite thats high! Im 19, had a crash just over a year ago so not clean record, and with NAC my $3600 Subaru Theft-Magnet Legacy Twin Turbo is ony $950 a year for full cover. $150 excess on windscreens tho, which sux! And yeah, some great E30 bargains around ae, got mine with just a little rust for $1270 but i kinda went overboard on mods... hehe... roll-cage and bucket seats, konis and kings later and Mr. Insurance wants $1200 a year... ouch.

    E30 320i Racecar

Yeah, thats what m hoping for. Realistically, racing a series the size of the E30 series is no students sport. On the plus side, if it sells i get to try motorcycle racing instead...

    E30 320i Racecar

Ok, so slight change in plans... as soon as the new engine is in, and the roof tidied up a little (as tidy as a spray-can job can get...) it's on the market complete with spare (blown) engine, and a freshly painted rear disc brake subframe. All it needs for race-series is new wheels + tyres, some more rollcage padding and all the security seal holes drilled. Could do with new bushes too, and a decent paintjob... but apart from that pretty sweet. Have to get rid of it before i can finish it unfortunately, as Uni fees arent going down and this car deserves to make it all the way, so that will have to be with someone else.
  22. AA insurance reckons a 320i E30 is a boyracer car But on the other hand, i have a stock legacy rs twin turbo, and i have been labelled, and have had my car labelled as a boy-racer car. I do not race. I drive as legally as i can, i need my car and licence for work! So some people have a lot of misconceptions i believe. In saying that, does anyone at all have an idea why so many of those driving "souped up ricers" drive with their seats right back? I saw one the other day and i almost thought it was a 13yr old before i realised they were just leaning riiiiight back... i don't get it..
  23. Spotted. approx 6,000 motorbikes at Westpac Stadium on tuesday. Oh and i was one of them . There were some BMW bikes there too! Plenty of coppers
