  1. Eg: lovely *cough* 40 yr old women who reversed into me at speed because she 'wasn't thinking' Damn age. Unfortunately all I can offer my car is a make shift marque/tent or car cover - no garage until I find one! This classic insurance surely wouldn't cover a car in the yr2000s mark though?
  2. Hmm.. I haven't 'claimed' anything.. but I did get reversed into and the other ladies insurance she had to pay out for her damage to my car.. This shouldn't hinder it.. I pay $700ish for 3rd Party on one of my cars - if I went under business I would be paying that much for full... I am however under 25.. Still interested to see what the restricted Ks could offer..
  3. I know there is a thread in history on here somewhere about special types of insurance for those cars that are only used 'now and then'.. But I can't find it and don't feel like spending an hour doing it So if someone could link me to it, or answer my question, that would be great! What are the companies that do 'special' insurance, eg: cars that travel small amount of Ks - but not Classic Insurance which I know some companies do. And if you know the approx rules/price etc that would be great too. Cheers!
  4. I called up on Saturday to head down to look at this - first thing he said was 'Damn, not another female enquirying' And then told me it had sold pending confirmation. So congrats
  5. Hi, I'm the owner and manager of ECC I run all these 'events' and meets. And rest assured we do get a mix of cars - not only sacked out Mercs. We had 2x Mint E30 M3s, E36 M3s, E46 M3s, a few E90/92 M3s and the of course the M5s as well as M Coupes, Panteras, RS6s, Porsche, GTIs... Most of the above cars stock. We have a huge mix of people. The next meet is in Albany and with over $1500 worth in prices to give away, no harm in tagging along. If it's as sh*t as some may presume, always optioned to leave But I keep things in order and wouldn't be able to pull my 130+ car meets without having rules in place for the idiots.
  6. Yup, I delete those posts. Everybody clearly knows what they want and if your scared you price it too low, price it high and work around that. Too much common sense in posting a price for the majority of NZ it seems.... Bloody pet peeve
  7. The amount of private messages of complaints of comments and posts is a bit pathetic. The BMW page is now sort of running it self to be fair - and people will just tag me in a post they think should be removed so making my life slightly easier. There is strictly no for sale on the ECC page so we don't see those sort of comments on there.. But there are still a few idiots who like to add 'their' type of humour which isn't everyone's type.. And then when you ban people they come crying back within 48hours begging to be let back.. My Facebook is no longer family and friends posts but complaints haha
  8. Tbh, all I asked for were stockists haha. And then opinions came at me left right and centre so I started exploring options haha Went back to what was said anyway
  9. Yeah we have a few idiots - but what forum base doesn't. - it's only a 900 strong member group on the FB and maybe 60 on the forum - only going to get bigger and better hopefully with some more mature adults to join in and keep the twats under control. In saying that, the majority of those at the last meet with their mint 50k+ cars were all over the older generation. Some of those members ask for text notification or a call when the next event is up as they purely aren't on facebook or the web. The BMW page is a sour place with a lot of people who don't know how to count to ten - can't say BS contributed anything to that, but ECC was with a lot of help from BS
  10. This thread is 7 months old.. Got BMW one for $60 in NZ. I know all about ECS now (didn't back then) so spend a bit each month
  11. Well I orginally had Hawk HP+ with OEM rears. But then I realised I will only be doing 1/2 track days a year so why put a pad on which is designed for more track use on when I won't need it. So went back to Hawk HPS as have spoken to Ray, as well as Mike who is the research guru on parts and both suggested HPS. So went with them as seem like the most suitable for my plans
  12. Thanks guys - Love the info and opinions will keep it all in mind for the next time round. Rang the Expert Ray, and have gone with a set he is running on his cars - so got to be good right? Appreciate it all, and apologies for any bitch fights I may have caused in the process of checking if there were suppliers in NZ. 2 Nice big parcels on the way from the USA.. going to be Christmas next week for me.
  13. Just finished work and motoring home to order now gaha
  14. Wow. Interesting thread. What Hawks were you running Jibs? Literally about to pay for the order tonight for Hawk HPS. The only other options are EBC, Akebono, Textar, Genuine BMW for sets Cool Carbon, Viaco for fronts and backs separate. unless of course I source in NZ... Different story. I had Viaco Brand OE Bushes.. They are shot because of my road.. Hence why upgrading to better brand.
  15. Lol so many opinions! I guess everyone is going to love and Hate brakes for different reasons. I have decided to go with the Hawk HPS all round. And Lemforder Bushes.. Would go for the Meyle Heavy Duty but it tips the order $5NZD over that lovely $400 gst Mark. All up for a full set of Hawks and Bushes it's around $500NZD landed so not too bad.
  16. See. The problem here is that I've never tracked my OWN car... I think 4-5 would be sweet, rest for a while then go back out for another session later on. Got to think about not pushing my car too much either as not exactly 'young' in KMs clocked on the engine. So just a basic, have a hoot then relax, then maybe have another hoot then relax
  17. They always ping for over $400... So I keep it under at all costs / hence bringing in two orders one for brakes one for mounts, and filling them up with requests from others to break on the shipping. Flick me a message DriftIt and can sort it for you. The one guy who was spending around $100 hasn't gotten back to me, so anybody else? Need to place the order latest tomorrow as tracking on Sunday 15th. Has anyone tested the OEM on a track with an E46?? Keen for experience of this and not on light cars like E30/36. I had a 1500kg car on stock brakes and We had them fail on the back straight of taupo.. So this is why Id rather go more than less.. If that makes sense? Also being an auto I can't just shift down to slow down - which can make a huge difference
  18. Originally was Front and Rear Hawk HPS. Have had a look at a few reviews and the HP+ proved it selfs as a good pad. Im just stuck between which two. Mmm. DriftIt - I haven't yet but will be by tomorrow as need them landed this week to be in car by next week
  19. Okay.. Hawk HP Plus For Front Textar For Rear (Orginal Supplier for BMW Anyway) I seriously didn't realise brakes could be this hard to choose from. I can go OEM, but for $20 more I can get a full set of Hawks which are so far winning the lead with most recommendations both on BS and outside with fellow car enthusiasts. on that note.. I now have $100USD spare to spend to fill up my order - so if anyobody wants something from ECS tuning, let me know Edit: Scratch that.. New items
  20. Haha, that's cool. I would then assume that Textar would be sweet since they are the Suppliers for BMW? Don't want to pay $50 more just a bmw name
  21. Guess some people just don't like change then. And for a fair comparison, ugly girls generally get hit on by those in their league.. (so ugly males, or Females if you are that way inclined) And tbh, I haven't had many sh*t box honda owners come over and chat with me about my car.. Generally all higher end class car owners that know what they are looking at. But hey, errbody be liking different things on different cars. I personally think it's less protruding that Msport.. Or maybe that's just because Msport is black? Idk. Never owned an Msport E46 so can't sit there all day and work out the pros and cons of each.
  22. Yeah a bit of M sport badges, a Bit of ACS and a bit of stock BMW. But hey for ACS to be 'ugly' cars Polley - I sure as hell get a lot of comments about how nice mine is..
  23. Thank you. I appreciate the in depth there. For all knowledge based on brakes, I don't really know a lot because tbh, OEM did me fine and this will be my first track day with my own car, so it's all new to me. I am looking at going all 4s with one brand. I think EBC Greenstuff is about $15NZD cheaper than Hawk. I am looking at around $250NZD incl shipping for a set of fours of either. I have seen HardRace and Meyle Bushes on Trade me - but around $60 more than shipping them in. I can get Lemforder, and Meyle.. I would go for Powerflex but like all humans - I am on a budget and my brakes are the most important factor for me.
  24. So many.. What to choose. Going with Motul Fluid (600) Still unsure on Brake Pads. After having the brakes fail at Taupo, I am putting the effort in.. It's just picking the damn things! And then rotors skimmed too. $$$ My bill for the car is taking over its purchase price.. Haha. The price you pay to play
