Yeah man getting it along with a bunch of stuff on Wednesday. Got my Race Series Front Konis today, just need a RHS 51mm Strut if anyone has one kicking around?? Just need that and a fitting kit Paul has ordered me and I will be good to go. Have decided to spend a bit more in the brake department now that I can go to vented discs on bigger struts on the front so will be looking to go brand new discs on the front with 325 calipers, with braided lines allround. Need some wheels! Anyone has any 15's in e30 offset they want to sell me? Would prefer basketweaves but beggers can't be choosers. Cheers, Nate

Student allowance is part of your loan, you can either get a allowance that you dont have to pay back if your combined parents income is under like 35K or something (most people can't get that) and the other allowance is like pocket money from the govt that you have to pay back and its added to your student loan (that one you get once a week and can be changed to anything up to $155 a week) Hope that makes sense
-
I opted to use my student allowance (the one I have to pay back, to fund my race car ) Don't do what I did. Im not worried, I only spend money on my car, cause live at home and would happily spend hours under the car than go out drinking etc at this point in time. Just budget, buy things you need, not what you want and you should be fine. It all comes down as JiB said to what you want more, money and live in luxury, or good grades. There is a fine line most people try to chase, especially the ones that don't live at home. Good luck.

Have you got all the air intake hoses clamped on tight, and all hoses sealed up, had a similar problem with my car wanting to start, just didnt have full vacume, check the intake pipe from the AFM for leaks. Also, fully charge the battery for up to a day, most chargers are slow, also replace/clean plugs and check leads are all on properly etc. I am sure there are other obvious things to check haha

Haha thats a nice car, and im sure Glenn has more qualified advice than me. E30's are such easy cars to diagnose and replace things on, get any newer and its becomes abit less caveman like, this is half the fun. 240 boxes should be easy to find and pretty cheap.

Hey bro, sick to see another e30 316i owner on here My mate had similar problems with the gear box in his Swift GTi, could be anything of what you have listed, to gearbox or engine mounts as well. Took him several hundered dollars to diagnose, and in the end he just found another box. Check the gearbox oil and see if it is dirty or has shiny specks in it, if it does, looks like the synchros or a gear has been damaged. If you want a cheap and easy fix, I would cut your losses and just find another gearbox. Just my 2c Im sure if you asked, someone could secure you one for cheap as chips. Best of luck mate, Nathan

Thanks man, yeah all the blood sweat and tears does pay off, but its not over yet, the jury is still out on how much fun it will be hasn't moved since August so I have forgotten what driving a e30 feels like.

Well the car is alive, got the diff mounted back to the subframe, refilled and sorted, my a pillar is finished, am stoked with the results from a can job, the pads replaced with new trusting hi performance pads, got a standard exhaust mounted for the time being, oil flushed and refilled with new filter, had it idling and reving a bit smooth as for about 30 min in the garage, tryna avoid polluting myself to death, just need my front shocks and the bootlid repainted, brakes bled and it is alive...for the time being haha
-
Should be cheaper than what it cost my dad to get a replacement air con condenser for my Focus ST170, $1500 later....LOL
-
Anybody? Ray? I really need the caliper clip, my car is alive i just need brakes!
-
Looking and sounding sick bro, ideally would like to build something exactly like this when my current motor pops....
-
Haha sick backyard as. Yeah my one is gona take alot of welding, and praying and hoping it fits lol, cos the first time it didnt
-
True that bro, not alot to do without the car mobile, just rebolt the diff to the subframe and start making up a exhaust if your any good at welding??? lol
