In this order E30 M3 Convertable - daily E31 850CSi - weekend E34 M5 - people mover
-
yeah - that'll be Andrew in the new / old e30, works down that way.
-
out of curiousity which car did it come off .. generally the 318i's had small case 4.1's didnt they. My 316i 1.8 had a 4.27 on it.
-
seen them once in a M323i that darren had. Headrests were a funny design, I think they had a big cutout in them.
-
meh - theres only a few car companies daring enough to produce a bright yellow car - I'm gonna go with a suby WRX or an Evo - turbeau! Do they still produce CRX' ?
-
awww jeez ... if that was 2 door .. id be all over that by now . Dont think I can legally put 4 door front seats into a 2 door car.
-
I've got right rear window for E30 coupe - $70 with all the mounting gear. Must check that I still have the seal as well. $65 if I cant find the seal.

I was going to make a thread a few days back but will use this one Looking at doing my first manual conversion and was wondering... who makes the best bang for buck clutch kits ? heard good things about sachs and LuK but I realyl dont know myself. Any idea on prices.
-

-
wow sounds like a steal, kinda wish I'd bought it nearly . pics please. Cheers Andy

I got jiggy with the it and got it working. Not sure what it is exactly, but if I move them, it makes a clicky clicking noise on the LHS beside the speaker in the opposing switch I think. Will replace them both on the weekend.

My previous E30 had where you could open the door past a certain degree and still use the electric windows with the key out of the ignition. (handy when leaving the car) My current E30 doesnt seem to want to do it. Although I'm starting to think this may be a problem as neither of my interior lights come on when the doors open, despite changing settings. Do you think the door sensors are funked ? an option this one didnt have?
-
he means beacuse your car is facelift (88-91) - the kit is designed for pre-facelift (83-87). The rear valance wont but the skirts will fit.
-
Sparkle / Cam ... you work in tandem. This photo is so priceless..
-
yeah those I think you'll find are illegal. Hub adaptors they're called arent they. Your best bet is to do a E30 4 stud - > E36 318ti 5 stud conversion. Rear alone will cost around $300 without diff. To go 5 stud I dont know you'll be spending any less than maybe $900-1k on just hte stud pattern conversion.

Saw these the other day, http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...on-71194473.htm Can someone with knowledge on the subject please shed some light on their legalty.
-
yeah it does look like a pretty good buy, but please make sure it will work before going ahead as I cant speak from experience personally. Also that is only the gearbox alone, you will need pedal box, and other bits.

M50B20 is your engine. by the looks of it I dont think trademe has any right at hte second. I've heard people talking about using a Getrag 260 from an E30 325i but there is some basic modifications that need to be done, but I believe this will end up costing you much less in the long run. Expect to pay a bit more for new consumables ie. clutch kit, short shifter, new linkages, mounts etc. etc. Give www.sdeuropean.co.nz a ring and just ask for a quote to get your 9? BMW 320i E36 a manual gearbox put in.
-
theres a few varying factors involved. 1) Availablity - not readily available generally but always on offer from places like SDeuropean if you are prepared to mortgage the house a few more times. 2) Model - some model manual gearboxes come up more often than others .. if its an M42 engine theres a couple of them around at the moment for quite a reasonably price. Others are generally more hard to find and owners are generally not too interested in parting engine from box. I hear www.sdeuropean.co.nz will do a manual conversion kit installed and with some sort of warranty (i think) .. for between $3-4k but at that price your probably better off selling and buying the car you want in manual.

theres proof they exist - > http://www.bmwinfo.com/30228.html now I remember actually seeing one, in that bronze /brown color on trademe, M3 Evo. btw - :D oi ! those cheapshots down low on my M325iS AC Schnizzler Hartge Alpina 1.8L Ltd Edition Touring Roadster. are just uncalled for !!
