been hanging round Gus too long Graham.. look what its done. re. chrome adds balance, I say keep it. I dunno about installing shadowline trim, but chrome trim is hard to get off without bending it.. and iyou will never be able to get that original shape back.

18" BBS mags here $650 - Cantebury For genuine bbs mags, thats a damned good price. Look into it, dont write it off straight away because they're in cantebury. Would pay to just confirm offsets, mag sure they'll fit E36's as appose to them being designed to fit say a 7 series which is a different offset.

Ouch $20 delivery fee, might wanna check thats not US $ as reading below it only suggests that the bidding amount is in NZ dollars..
-
all of that can be pre-selected at the factory. I dont think yours is much different to any other 320i 85' .. just you had a speedo in miles.
-
Build a moat or alternatively .. I dont think the car can run without the instrument cluster, you could remove that. Takes about 10mins to take out tops.
-
use this tutorial to see how to get to the rear of your intrument cluster, note: they use a 6 star screw. then just swap bulb over and refit the cluster.

320i 's regardless of year (83-1991) are probably 1st or 2nd most common E30 in NZ. Probably england / uk. is this here the same cluster? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C.../p-22981933.htm

someone keen on my interior wants to know whether 2 door seats will fit in 4 door car ? The only problem I can see is the rear bench seat maybe being different size but thats about it. Ofcourse hte door cards wont work with it as well. Cheers Andy

if it doesnt have tappet noise, its not a real e30.
-
I'd agree with what was said above and add that any angle as long as your not restricting the airflow more.

cheers guys, the cars a M40 318i. I've been through and disconnected / removed 90% of the wiring and miscellaneous bits to one side, taken off the bonnet and just about ready to haul the engine out. Saw your car yeseterday Silverfox, your've done a great job. Probably saw my e-dirty M-Tech II parked a few cars along. Good to get a look at hte competition, after watching 2-3 of them in a row down the back straight, its definately going to be put down to driver skill. Cheers Andy

is the radiator shroud not needed or did you just deem it unnecessary ? whats the air intake components your using.. looks quite flash. what on earth is that thing bolted to your grill ... mega badge ?
-
What do I need to disassemble / take out first before removing the engine? The obvious being - exhaust - radiator - AFM do I need to take off the exhaust manifold ? does the alternator stay on ? any tips as to how to make this easier. I'm pretty newbie to this all, so learning as I go. Pays not to screw it up first time though. The gearbox is going to be removed from the engine any how.. so would it be easier to take it off and remove separately or remove the whole lot at once. Cheers Andy

no.. by touring I mean wagon. Only wagon I've seen in this part of town lately was a charcoal grey one, quite nice.

sorry, I didnt misread the question I thought they just may have been linked. In the door jam about 1/4 the way up from the bottom of the door you'll find a plastic cover. Behind that is the central locking mechanism. The guy was screwing around in there when he was installing my alarm and managed to make my central locking intermittant by just tapping it slightly. It didnt permanent damage it by any means but it just showed it doesnt take much to take it out. So many open that up, have a look inside see if anything is loose or just give things a bit of the push in and see if it does anything. Probably a good idea to check the fuse on that one as well. This is fuse 27 which is a 30 AMP fuse.
-
sometimes can go weird as there was design flaw. Water runs down the side of hte door joint and into the plastic cover of the central locking mechanism. The guy installing my alarm for me show how he could get to work and stop working with just hte slightest tap .. maybe just take a quick look in there. Fuse 17 should be the one. Replace that.

"Right side window does not go up or down which I will be repairing at a cost of $500" crikey - $500 to fix a window that doesnt go up .. whats wrong with it ?
