merry xmas to y"all....got some books bout BMW car n bikes(i am a total bmw fan boi.....)and a wee cargo net to hold stuff securely in the hatch.....
-
Mr E34 and I were talking about this the other day...there is something about the "rawness" of the ol m30 which makes it more appealing than even the e34 540i6.I drove a e39 540 i6 once but it was just TOO nice..I am gonna miss it
-
i think the 540 is better than the 535 on the open road, cos if nothing else they have higher gearing
-
i dont want to tow 2500 but the tow bar/ball thing that came with the car IS 50mm,and being able to take a trailer every now and then is bloody handy, but its very frustrating to find that i cant use it!
-
confirmed.ALL the the hire trailers from gas staions around here are 1 7/8 only.hire quip have one tandem axle trailer(braked) with a multifit coupling. All the furniture trailers and the car trailers are 50mm only(hirequip) I note that trojan(make trailer bits)have a multifit non braked coupling.hopless, most of the service stations i went to didnt even know what i was asking!
-
thats why i said may

the system may also need to be bled of air which can impede the flow of water

diesel ggodness= 900 k for 48l with all the overtaking and hill climbing torque required,110km hr 1750rpm
-
the 535 is heavy on the gas...the only aspect of the car that disapointed.big tank tho so can still get good range. If you drive in stop start traffic expect 17 l 100 k.You wont do any better than 10l100 k.An import with cat and o2 sensor might be a bit better.I dont think an auto will be much worse, maybe a little.
-
only looking to hire a little trailer, not a car trailer.
-
might look again tomorrow
-
typo...e39 m5 has same bore size as other e39.

the backs might rub.... -
fantastic looking car good luck with the sale...its a tough time of the year for most people though.I would wait for the new year if you can(wish i did)
-
dont get me wrong you sometimes have to do it,but keep the cuts to a minimum Keep it clean with washing then waxing.A clay bar(very very fine "cut") is prolly kinder to the "paintwork"
-
i have always loved the 535,Even after driving around the 120 for a couple of weeks i still like driving the 535.I would have kept it if i had the room and i wont ever get anything like it for the money i sold it for.A car nut freind of mine who always has newish cars is always impressed by the e34
-
exactly,a 50mm coupling will go on a 1 7/8 ball but a 1 7/8 coupling will not go on a 50mm ball. i still think fuel consumption in mpg
-
dont do it! Every time you cut and polish you are removing some clear coat.Honestly i hardly EVER polish my 535 i just wash it lots and always use a wax frenidly shampoo and a wool mitt 1) hose down car(out of the sun if poss) 2) wash with arementioned mitt and shampoo with a 20l bucket.By the time i have finished the bucket is nearly empty. If the car is dirty i might use a seperate smaller quantity of water/shampoo to do the lower 1/4 and do that lower quarter seperatly from the rest of the car 3)Dry off stand back and revel in the awesomeness of the e34
