hmmm not sure i would go quite that far with the M30
-
upgrade??? I would think you cant do much better than factory (ratings wise)?I have had hella batteries in the e34.I just got a din 75......so its a 75 amp hour which is what the actual spec for the car.A lot of batteries places recomend much lower ratings ,same size actual battery casing but lower ratings i guess to keep the price down. The last place i used was in thorndon quay same place as the 4wd place.I can leave the parking lights on all day......

no disputing that mate,e28 will always be lighter, but say my old car you could lose a lot easily (electric seats etc!)
-
be easy to lose lots of kilos from an e34,pity you werent looking a few weeks ago....

pressuring cooling system..............gulp.(head gasket?) Hopefully its just old plastic...make sure the radiator is up to it,the m30 prollly requires more cooling than the M50????
-
even my 535 first gear is too low for the power and tourque you have,BUT you need the low first gear for "traffic",ie idling along in first with all the corrollas etc.A higher first would be better overall but it would be a major pain(ie lots and lots and lots) of clutch slip in traffic

there is a place in Auckland that will do mats, genuine BMW ones for rhd e 34 are NLA.make sure you get some decent hold down fixings tho...mats that doent move round are awesome! -
and a nice e34 is still a nice car today..
-
there was a 100 k one on tm for 50 ish...I know what you mean about the 320d and 330d.The little 120d has a very nice shove in the back if you hold down the pedal for a bit and it can rocket out of the corners

what is the definition of motorsport? My own opinion is it must have the suspension, bodykit and sports seats, and bigger wheels. If it was specced it will show up on the build sheet as in my old 535is .You will find that if you order the "msport" package it comes" bundled" with other stuff so "motorsports" will often be a nicely specced car200 KATALYSATOR - ENTFALL (no catalytctic converter) 209 LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL (25%) 226 SPORTS SUSPENSION SETTINGS 291 BMW LM SCHMIEDERAD/KREUZSPEICH (alloy wheels) 302 ALARM SYSTEM 320 MODEL DESIGNATION, DELETION (no model badge) 335 M TECHNIC SPORTPAKET (mtech body kit, front spoiler skirts, rear wing, aero rear bumper cover) 339 SATIN CHROME (matt black finish around windows instead of chrome) 401 SLIDING/VENT ROOF, ELECTRIC 458 SEAT ADJUSTMENT, ELECTRIC. buy ruby she look good(with clean mats that is)
-
many people would say they are the ideal wheel style for e 30, e32, e34,so price could be good if you find the right buyer
-
easiest way is to take the bulb out then go to repco or supercheap or local auto electrcian and say....hey bro you got one of these?,Buy a pair cos the other one is likely to go soon too.....
-
look at the state of the drivers mat
-
dont know of any wellington places but give john a ring at southern euro he may know
-
all that aside if you were looking for one of these cars the pics speak for themselves, except the interior looks a bit grubby......and faux wood interiors....so last century
-
a lot of the overseas e34 m30 chips are not compatible with our non cat/o2 sensor cars
-
imho its already pretty low, obviously with 7 people in it it will sit even lower, making it less practical for driveways, speed bumps etc. just my opinion of course
-
he didnt pay anything for it so he didnt suffer the depreciation. The selling price would have to cover all costs to tkeep the running for 80 odd years.
-
thats how it is but on my e34 you had to do it about 5 or 6 times to lift the knob enough to unlock
-
the turn key lift handle thing is a mission but it works...as you lift the handle AS you turn the key ALL the way left, you have to lift the handle at the same time you turn, you dont have to use force. When you get it right you will see the door knob move a little bit, repeat until it lifts far enough to unlock.I think on my car it was the passengers side that worked.
