  1. car dealers have a book with model history and prices, not always comprehensive,my 535 in 1990 was 122,000,apparently.
  2. wow..that is a serious motor car. From what i have heard the e39,s are less user serviceable than the e 34s.It may not be an issue to you but be warned that a inspection two would prolly run around 1000 dollars......and thats only routine stuff, more if you need to replace brake rotors n stuff. This is an estimate based on an inspection two on my 535 at page european in wellington.
  3. 3.8 ltr 6 spd e34 M5 Avus blue.......hmmmm Maybe the later ones didnt have the throwing stars and have the dreaded W I D E grillbut I guess i could put up with that for 340 horses and 6 spds
  4. i havent been there, just cant quite picture where the auto electicians..i can sorta see the sign in my minds eye but cant place it.I went to power haus when i first bought the 535 but i didnt get a good feel for the place. If you walk into Page European there is no doubt where their expertise lies........
  5. is it the same place as powerhaus???
  6. shardlow in moera or alexanders in town.I think the reversing lights are pretty straightforward so shouldnt be too bad a job for any body.Check out the guy nearest you!
  7. leather AND sports...but i would stick to the leather, unless you can swap the whole car AND you really want those sport seats!

    hrrrmm

the range rover is seriously capable off roader too, however i suggest the rangie WOULD break the bank going to Taupo!Any seriuos modest 4wd enthusiast has a deisel these daysI would think the rangie would be mid to high teens litres per hundred kilometres and would have a huge tank.I put over 80 bucks in the 535 the other night.......
  9. i have a usa etk,and whilst it identifies my car as a non cat rhd euro manual thats about as specific as it gets.I am sure that my car is a" factory" sports even though it was not sold /badged as a sport and the etk doesnt seem to be that specific on parts...maybe i am not using it properly
  10. make me a offer for my 1990 reg nz new 535 is manualwith lsd ,leather recaro`s,climate ac,sunroof,obc,175000kms,service history, diaond shwarz, etc etc and i will buy cains.....
  11. I had an incident in my car over the xmas break one year.Blair Wright, cnr hopper and web did an excellent job.I had damaged the front guard, and asked them to respray front spoiler and the bonnet too,cos of stone chips.....cant tell.I would have used the surgery but i also needed some suspension work done.so blair wrights was handy.I do not regret it.Mike from the surgery is a member of the BMWCC too!
  12. i will too thanks sparkle, does he have hella stuff himself, would be good to support a bimmersport outfit!
  13. arent there more options in the UK????I would love some clear or smoked front corners for my black e34

    Oil Light

The engine had so much oil in it that as the piston came down in to the crankcase it could not displace the oil,and as you cant compress a liquid something else had to give.....
  15. sheesh that car looks familiar
  16. anyone got any info on the Targa Tour???My take is you follow (or lead) the targa itself around the ountry. Are the roads closed,do you have to observe speed limits?I presume there is an entry fee.......do you arrange your own acccomodation....et etc
  17. my guess is that set/res is for setting and ressetting the time and date, same as S/R on mine
  18. i dont think you are doing your car or your neighbours any favours by idling so long .If its sittimg there at 2000 rpm you may as well be driving along!Just keep the revs low and throttle openings small and you wont do any damage at all.Look at using a 10 w oil in the winter(Check the owners manual),cos the most wear happens right at start up....As soon as she can pull away i would be off....
  19. Do you sit there idling for 5 or 6 minutes????
  20. the obc in my e34 has buttons that show the timeHR/DATE (and date when you push it the second time),fuel consumptionCONSUM(,two seperate readings, the second visible on the second push, not very pretty readings at times!),RANGE(the remaining distance on the tank of gas)SPEED(average speed since last reset, instant each time you reset)TEMP(outside air temp)TIMER(self explanatory)ARR(arrival time, works in conjuction with dist)DIST(punch in the distance to your destination using the 1000,100,10,1 keys, pushing the ARR key will show your eta based on your speed)LIMIT(a programmable speed warning ie set it at 115 and when you exceed it the "DING" goes)CODE(a programmeale alarm or immobilser).I cant read the writing on your pic but i a sure some of the keys will be the same!
