You have to bleed the system. On e30's there is a bleed valve on top of the thermostat housing. Yuo loosen the bolt (don't need to undo it totally) and pour coolant in while the engine is running, when water comes out the valve, tighten it and you're done. I image e36 have something similar.

Where are you? There is a manual conversion thread on here and another on r3v with a full parts list. (but part numbers are for m20)

Bit of blow-by. Worst case scenario is rings/valve guides, but could be small vacuum leak, or blown headgasket f**king with pressures inside the engine. I had it - would always blow blue smoke on startup as the oil burnt off. A good clean out of the intake system, and checking of all valve clearances, hoses, gaskets solved the problem.

Evo IV or stock lancer with evo IV kit.

Manual conversion usually goes for around $700 - 850. Then you will need to spend roughly another $500 or so on new parts to replace any worn ones, bearings etc. Plus your time to put it in.

Yeah right more like anyone under about 28. This is the same topic over and over agaqin regurgitated. The policing in this country is mismanaged, mis directed and incorrectly prioritised. There are action groups out there trying to help but achieving feck all. Go join them and help - it might help progress.Bitching about it doesn't help and always ends up with someone saying something dumb and the thread turns into a flame fest.

2.7GHz 504Mb DDR corporate broadband. Fish eye is faster than terraview (what it is based on) as there is way less information. The old Terraview (before they went platinum) was way better and faster.

That's different. There are paints with varying flexibilities - a thin layer of a water-based wash might be the best bet.

Sounds electrical - check all leads/HT wires, and spray engine start on the connectors as suggested by petone. Once it all dries out properly you should be OK - but there's a good chance there is still water in the system even afer 24 hours

I got my Z3 1.8 from Euro Italian for around the $130 mark.

As for the knock - I was thinking the same as jochen - could even be raer trailing arm bushes. The jingle noise is something I had. For me it was just the locking sleeve on the prop shaft that ensures the spline stays together had undone itself and when I went over a bump it would off-bablance it, it would jingle for a second till it started spinning the same speed as the prop shaft again and go away. 10 minute fix to remove heatsheilding, tighten it and done. -
Cool. I've always loved those wheels. Manual it and it'll be one nice ride. sh*t with all these clean e36's appearing makes me rethink my decision not to get one. nah forget it e30 FTW.

I never thought I'd see something like that in nz. I'm trying to think of something witty to say, but I'm absolutely gobsmacked.

I htink Andy's comment was tongue-in-cheek will, but as for the rest - ahmen.

If the tach is working now - check the speed sensor plug on the back of the diff.
