  1. Someone on r3vlimited has switched their E30 switches for E36 ones, and although it involves a bit of console modification, and tricky wiring, I'm gonna give it a go - that is if I can find four switches in immaculate condition. 4-door, so 4 switches, and I'd like the lighted ones please! No idea of value, so offer em up and if I think it's a fair price, then it's a done deal. Cheers.

    E30 Bentley Manual

Oh, sh*t, really? I might bid after all - I never bought one cos I thought it'd be a woftam. You learn something new... blah, blah blah...

    E30 Bentley Manual

Just be aware that it doesn't cover the M20 engine as found in 320's - only useful for 318's or 325's.

You were lucky then - the Mu's are notorious for trouble - rust, engine probs and the turbos sh*t themselves. Some model turbos you can recond, but others, its a whole new turbo baby! Reliability? - non existant. I wanted one, but did my homework first. A friend of mine bought one anyway - and it looked really good - but had to sell it in the end as we could see the potential for disaster as little things started to show up. I am glad yours was a good one, but I personally wouldn't take the risk.

    Quidam

And yet I wonder how a thread on Quidam ended up with discussion about the meet...
  6. Yeah I think someone was one here trying to flog it at some stage.
  7. hahahahahaha - smokers.... :shakes head in a disapproving manner:
  8. That would be giving the game away now wouldn't it... but it seems you have taken my well-placed bait ..... You'll have to wait and see.
  9. It is the tappets/lifters. As petone has said, you can adjust them, but you prob won't get the noise to go away completely esp as the cam will prob be slightly worn and adding to the prob. Almost all m20's I've heard have it to some degree. hey petone - didn't think you could adjust the tappets on a M10?
  10. Thanks Andrew - cool, but I'm not getting that excited. Will make an effort to go and see some in the flesh before I make a decision. Just finished a few minor fix-ups in the electrics dept, just need to finish the sounds off and I'll be getting onto painting the current needles. Will post an update when they are done. Then I have a cunning wheel mod in mind for an old set of bottlecaps. Will start a new thread if I can suss out how to do it.....

    Ruined E36?

That's OK Emma, you're welcome to your opinion, but the pictures really don't do it enough injustice - I must admit the scoop looks better in the pics than in the flesh. Seriously - it is god-awful. The front skirt looks cool until you see that the lower lip juts forward half a mile.

sh*t almost forgot the MR-2. Test drove several when looking for a new car. Settled on the bimmer, but only because for that particular amount of money, the bimmer was a better car. They drive great, and look good too - only two seats tho and I am my friends' taxi, so that was another turn-off.

    Ruined E36?

#2 Aftermarket grille? and another view of scoop. Sorry pics are bad, but I had to rush it as the owner works in the shop its parked outside of, and I don't want to have to explain what I am doing taking pictures of her car and rego sticker lol!

    Ruined E36?

    Air Filter

Repco prob not the cheapest - they are somewhere around the $125 or so mark there. Try supercheap autos, or ask your mechanic how much he/she can get them for. If you use your mechanic regularly and so have a good relationship, then they'll probably give you a good deal (at least mine usually does, but I thought repco would be faster - I was wrong)
  16. OK, I finally found a good reason to get a Baur convertible. We took the old mans one to Long beach near Russell the other day, and apart from the pick-up factor (and believe me it was there), when sitting on the folded down soft-top (with your feet on the back seat), the roll bar provides a perfectly placed ledge to rest your beer. Now, if only they came with a built-in sober driver.... :Looks for younger sister and something to bribe her with:  :drunk: = :mosh:

That's how much my sister paid for this one. She put the stripes on and got the roof painted white. It is since blown the rings on one of the cylinders, and runs on three because the plug carbons up. Sounds like a rotary, or a really, really lumpy cam. gutless, but sounds very cool.

    I should have clarified - either a 190E 2.6 AMG or 190E 2.3 with the 16-valve cosworth - def not the standard 2L model.

Skyline, or honda accord euro wagon - almost bought opne before I bought the bimmer. Also like 190E's or W124 - like a 250.
  21. yeah, whit dials I think. Yellow or red with white trim, or just red were discussed in my head, but I think they all look too over the top. So, now I need to find where to buy them for a not ridiculous price.

    Ruined E36?

So not mine - the front looks "OK" in that pic, but you should see that damn bulge from a diff angle - gay is the understatement. Some late 30's, early 40's maori sheila drives it. Lives in Kawakawa I think. Was in paihia today.
  23. I think I just wet myself - yep just a squirt. BOT: Or use strip connectors or crimp plugs that way you can pull it all out without cutting anything if you want to later on.

    Air Filter

The power increase from a pod vs panel is really nothing much, and if the pod is not done properly to really sheild heat, blah, blah, blah, you will actually get less power than the panel. pods look cool, but that is about it, the BMW air intake system is really pretty good from what the experts say provided you get a good panel filter like a K&N one. You can get them from repco (although I ordered one before xmas and its still not here - bastards, just coz I live in the wops i reckon.)
