  1. Hey Chris, Welcome Looks like a tidy E34. Very clean in white. I would imagine it would be a pretty good combination in manual? Also what had you done to your Surf with the 1UZFE to get 300rwkw.. a turbo or two I am guessing?
  2. Thats reminiscent of that old ford GT90 concept. Pretty ew.
  3. Hehe, it seems I have hit a few nerves. Sorry but I just don't get the logic of a nice looking BMW like this having one of those yawn-ish 4 cylinders, a BMW should be at least a 2.0L six, preferably bigger. Aside from my opinion though, it's one of the nicer looking 4 door E36's I have seen in some time.
  4. Looking good. Just needs a new motor and that M44 dropped to the bottom of the sea.
  5. I loved that M60 plastic intake runner setup on the BMW V8. Was quite a nice touch. The Lexus 1UZFE didn't start that sort of runner style until 1997/8 when it went to VVTi too.
  6. The colour made me go ughhh. At least its not blue or green though. Original looking!
  7. Yeah, all the little things count with car care IMO, just because you don't see it everyday doesn't mean it shouldn't be cleaned. Pretty easy. You need to take the inner guard out first to access the two front fender screws that connect to the kidney grill trim. Two screws under the sill, two more on the side parallel to the door hinges and the top 4 torx T-30 screws and 10mm bolt which you need to loosen the second one, those hold the bonnet hinge on. Then they come off, but you need the front pumper off to get better clearance on the front door edge. Oh and the indicator of course, one screw there.
  8. I took the front end apart over the weekend to clean out the 17 years of dirt and grime front the front wheel arch. A lot of dirt and matter gets in under the front fenders, so its a good idea to clean it all out. Heres a quick before and after of how I went on the left side. Could be cleaner, but heck that will do. Heh
  9. Bet your glad you didnt sell your 540i now hey. Seems like things have panned out well.
  10. Great E36, looks hot I must say. RJS your not located above the Ellerslie Racecourse are you? Just I have seen a car very similar to yours parked up often, dont think its yours though since you have a plate.
  11. Hello, after a BMW original Vacuum reservoir and a two of the electronic vacuum solenoids. Commonly found on the E36/E46 exhausts. If you have something let me know your price and put some pictures up. Just want to compare some new vs used prices before I make a move. Cheers guys.
  12. My thoughts too. You should be running wider tires than that anyway. 225-235, Then again i guess you don't need it on a 1.8.
  13. Hmm yeah I would rather see in-car clips with the M5 V8 sound rather than low res clips in another car playing lame music shooting your nice M5 through dirty windows.
  14. Nice car, but put the grille back to stock, doesn't work on Black cars. What an excellent idea.
  15. Hello all. So i have a bunch of rubber seals from my car, they are all in good condition, not rotted or anything, but a little stiff and dirty. Is there any methods I can do to bring a bit of life back into them, to rejuvenate them and make them more soft for better sealing? I did read once a warm soapy mixture with them sitting in it was one way, but I dont recall the final details. Any suggestions? Cheers
  16. ^ yeah I have heard of quite a number of low setups running with out intercoolers. I guess really I'm being pedantic. (Typical) I found some M90 Supercharger tech specs, according to those I would be increasing the air temperature by 35-45 degrees at peak RPM, otherwise at lower RPM more around 25-35, so the air going into the engine would be that + whatever the ambient temperature is. With colder spark plugs, a proper WMI kit I should be in the green.
  17. Yeah, none of those are much to look at. Most cars today are quite ugly, a lot have been ruined by these pedestrian impact regulations in the design.
  18. Hmm kay so I am contemplating on getting a new windshield at some stage this year. My current one is not cracked but its chipped and pitted quite badly, not to mention full of those micro scratches and swirls. Some have suggested to get it polished, but I don't see that really getting it back to a good condition. So any suggestions on where to go for a decent job, I have seen some terrible jobs on two friends of mine that had window repairs done through smith and smith, ie, cut rubber seals, damaged paint work, mess left in the interior and leaks! So I am after a top job, with no flaws. Cheers.
  19. Tip, take your time. I've only taken the front fenders and bumper / grille assembly off for a thorough clean in ever crevice where dirt can get. A little weekend job more than anything. A car is not clean unless its clean on the inside too!
