  1. Shall watch now. Mike the presenter annoys me, but I still enjoy seeing what the talk about.
  2. Heh, yeah It would be, I found this on YT a few months ago, from Japan a 1JZ in an E36
  3. Seems okay, but I don't see the point of a nasty Nissan I6... Never liked those engines, at least a 1JZGTE or 2JZGTE Toyota engine if going for a Japanese I6 to replace the stock motor. Also being a 4 door it's instantly worth a lot less than a 2 door, they look bland.
  4. Heh that is excellent, 30,000k's since I first bough it! How has the Engine/Gearbox/Diff been? Any issues come up?
  5. Has the Air Conditioning system been okay since I replaced that thing?
  6. Could well be a window seal, maybe around the top of the front window, a previous car of mine had a leak up there and dripped down onto the passenger foot well. Took a while for me to pin point the leak as it was dripping and gathering on the roof lining then running across to the passenger side, The actual leak was on the right side of the windshield where the seal had lifted. It would be a good idea to strip your interior and dry out the carpet as the E36s tend to rust if say the carpet was damp for some time, when I stripped my interior there were bits of light surface rust here and there just from general moisture getting under there, I cleaned it up and sprayed it all with Penetrol (clear anti rust film) to prevent any further oxidation.
  7. These are better looking and of far more appeal than most cars made in recent times. A great collection.
  8. I thought about getting a Eisenmann for my 540i, they make a great sound but I didn't see it worth it being around 2250 delivered, worth roughly 1/2 to 1/3 of the car! Would have been excellent however.
  9. Wow thats looking awesome Nick Those wheels are fantastic along with the Tints, really sharpens the look of the car up. I'm sad that I don't have it, but chuffed your taking top care of it. What tires are you running? I see you have done something to the exhaust?
  10. Very good job there. Just needs a new powerplant.
  11. Yeah, pretty much what everyone else said. Rather disappointing this is all they can come up with, under the body they are no doubt brilliant, but for the last few years their designs are woeful. The last good looking BMW is the E46, perhaps the E60 5er is quite nice but other than that they are all wrong as of lately. What is up with the new X5? The pathetic X1 and 5 Series GT additions? Let alone the ruined 7 series. Sigh
  12. What an awesome example Nice buy.
  13. Suppose suspension is the #1 thing to spend money on in a E34, other than that they are pretty good reliability wise.
  14. Indeed, they are a bit on the small side thats for sure, mines even more impractical since I have fitted it with a rear roll bar setup in the back! I will keep in touch, will have a few queries at a later date I am sure. Yeah, I agree the E34/E39 styling is extremely different, the whole reason I haven't bought a E39 is since they look too bland/generic where as the E34 was full of character, apparently the build quality, especially interior wise is superior in the E34 to that of the E39 when BMW (like Mercedes) started cutting corners in otherwise basic parts. This was my E34, got it through Ray (HellBM) Also here is a little video clip in the cabin. Sadly I sold it for another V8 Soarer, until getting this BMW for the single reason of putting a 1UZ into it.
  15. Those V6's are really gutless too I recall.
  16. Yes ugly, just because it costs X,XXX,XXX and goes 4XXkm/h doesn't mean its good looking.
  17. I would suggest to buy a Hilux 4x4 and fit it with a Lexus V8 and manaul 4x4 gearbox. Easily done for 14k It will give you the most power over anything else for the money. (250-300hp / 350-400nm) Will keep going for a long time. Will hold it's resale value. Will sounds good with a well designed exhaust. Rather economical. Etc
  18. My advise would be to go for a tidy 540i E39 having owned a E34 540i, I loved it, but they are very much a product of the 80's, still great machines if you find a mint one. Though if you think about it this way the E39s have only been out of production for 7 years compared to 15 years for the E34 so in a way E39's are still a fairly modern design. Apparently the chassis was considerably (40% I read) stiffer compared to the E34's and was not changed much when designing the E60 5 series. Otherwise make another Lexus V8 3 series! What made you sell the one you built in the first place? We spoke on the phone earlier about it if you recall, still working towards doing the same thing later this year. Currently working on a half cut LS400 engine I got, making up a few supercharger setups which is going well, should have a test setup up running on it next month. In the mean time I am looking for a good deal of a wreck/tired E36 I can use as the 'template' to make up the engine, gearbox, headers and sump parts. Anyway sorry to digress.
  19. 75 cents for a Gallery picture??? Bastards..
  20. We should do a group by of sledge hammers to fix these cars. That is all they deserve.
