The vast electrics of the E38's are usually the problems with them. A friend of mine had a recent problem with the door close light not going out. If you're prepared to occasionally have to repair bits then they are a top car. Though, there is a bit of a difference between a 5 and 7, at least with the 5 they are a good size and sporty at the same time. With that one in the link, I wouldn't buy it on the grounds its a Hong Kong Import, I would be inclined to get NZ new only, a German/UK import with history or a decent Jap one. Something about Singapore/Hong Kong imports I don't like. Also I think it still has the old engine, 4.0 Non vanos, if you got a 1996+ they have the newer, better 4.4 Vanos motor. I may be wrong though.

That is a laugh, if it has good detail it will be kinda cool. But I ask, why a veyron, its pretty ugly? Only thing going for it is its engineering and speed. Should have made a DB9 kit car or something actually nice to look at.

Yeah this car makes no sense. the 7 Series is the top line 4 door. The 8 series is meant to be a 2 door GT car... What the heck is this??? BMW need to get their heads out of the gutter, it certainly is not the same company as it were 20 years ago.

I think that does look improved over stock. I recently saw one in the flesh, they do have a presence though, especially the hard top coupes over the soft tops.

So theres a German made spare parts brand called Topran. Just did a little search on the internet but didn't come up with too much. Does anyone have any opinions on how good this manufacturer is compared to OEM BMW parts?

Nice man, one of my favorite cars the E31's Just amazing what bargains they are today, as long as you can keep on top of their annoying problems they get like any old car, but I say thats part of the enjoyment of owning a car, doing maintenance! Not too much to show yet, Just working on the LS400 V8 half cut I recently got, sorting out and refreshing that engine while its in the old body, just got it running earlier this week. Goes very well. Currently I am designing the manifold/inlets for a low boost M90 roots supercharger setup, which I will pass on to mate to fabricate to my specifications Next step I will take is buying a stuffed E36 to take to my mechanic where he will sort out getting the engine/gearbox mounts and exhaust headers made up using some dead 1UZFE blocks from his drag car. Then I can use these parts and drop them straight in my 325i. Be on the hunt for a E36 body sometime next month, shouldn't be too hard to get a good deal since these damn things are everywhere.

In stock form perhaps, but this V8 is tweaked running a supercharger and after market ECU. I sourced a pump today anyway.

Just a quick question, probably been discussed many times, but is it a relatively simple to drop in a m50B25 motor into a e36 replacing the stock 2.0 engine, I guess the main issue are the electrics, how much of the wiring has to be altered or is it all plug in and play?... Would it be much of an issue would if the 320i didn't originally have vanos? Is it preferable to get a 320i vanos equiped car (since the 2.5 I have is a Vanos engine)? Cheers!
