  1. More than likely a connection somewhere, could be power connection if its resetting itself and no back-light. Did you verify the obc worked properly before putting in ??. I did a tutorial on here for it when I did it but it seems to have gone now.
  2. I noticed that search is limited to beginning on Jan 2013 , is this a personal setting (can't see it anywhere) or a limitation put on the forum overall.
  3. Walked outside to put out the wheelie bin and seen this black M5 sitting across the road. A quick car jam reveals a 2005 and a vin check (could not help myself) reveals fully loaded with all the options. Still don't like the back of these things though.
  4. I am partial to a good book but its all a matter of time to get to read. Not enough hours in the day. My most favorite book of all time and have read more times than I care to remember and one that I wish they would make into a movie is Magician by Raymond E Feist (part of the rift war saga). The other 2 books though changed the way I set about my approach to the management side of the manufacturing business is The Goal and it's not luck , both by Eliyahu M Goldratt.
  5. The missus bought me an e36 m3 last year for xmas , a 1:24 scale made in Italy. Doors open and close , steering wheel turns wheels etc.
  6. Yeah not sure what the guy trying to break the window with his head is all about , definitely missing a few brain cells.
  7. If you have some spare time and want a laugh there are some pretty good fails here. Some will make you go holy f*ck and some will no doubt make you question the complete sanity of some people. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ybqsis4A64#t=527
  8. Where did you pick it up from , I have been looking for something like this.
  9. Company called flexoplas and we make plastic bags, bin liners as well as timber wrap and a host of other things. I am leaving a company where we were injection and blow, pet molding so going to blow film is going to be a lot different for me.
  10. So was reading the paper a month or so ago (yes they still exist) and came across an ad for a job that I thought hmmm might throw my C.V in for even though in today's market thought I would not even hear back from them. Got a phone call for an interview which to be honest I was just flattered in even getting called in for. I have been in my current position of night shift manager for 8 years so have been out of the interview side of things for awhile and I am normally conducting them not being interviewed in them. Got called back for a second interview in which I was told it was down to 3 people and by then I was both excited and nervous. A week after the second interview I was called back and offered the job on a 3 month trial (as is the case with just about any job now days). So starting next year on the 13th of Jan I am taking over as factory manager of a plastics manufacturing company (My previous job is in the same industry) , this is going to be a big step up and something I am very excited in tackling. Yay me.
  11. Sitting in hells pizza waiting for my order and seen this pull up outside. A 535 that had been in a bit of mischief and off to the knackers yard I would say.
  12. If you click on the envelope at the top and then select view all messages it shows on the side how much space you have.
  13. There's an app for that , I came accross this the other day and loaded in all my details. Hmmm dunno where all that exta money went though.
  14. Well done at wanting to succeed , Is it hell in trying yes but you have to push through it. I smoked for 29 years (2 x 50gm packets of roll your own a week) before kicking it , over 2 years for me now and to be honest I still get a craving evey now and then but I am determined not to return to the foul smelling stuff. Stay strong and post on here and we can support you as you go along. Good luck.
  15. Sorry Mike, Dave got the scoop just ahead of you.
  16. Dunno how many of you know of this guys blog for his E36 mainly , Very very meticulous with his maintenance , well worth a read if you have time. He also bought an E46 from new but I think it sits not doing much compared to the E36 http://www.dvatp.com/bmw/e36
  17. (SOLD) After reading the thread on scanners I found I had this stashed away gathering dust not being used. Its Enthusiast kit - option 1 , it retails for $280 USD , These things are limited in the fact that you can only use it on 3 cars and looking at the software for it I have used one of those slots. Its pretty comprehensive and to be honest I have no idea what sort of price its worth. I am guessing $75 to start out with and see if anybody is interested before it goes on trade me. Its only for OBDII and works fine on windows 7 and 8. Can't find the mini cd that came with it but you can just download the latest software and drivers from their site. Comes exactly as the pics show (quite a handy case actually) The error showing device not powered just means its not plugged into car and just plugged into my lappy so I could get that info for the pic. Info on everything it can do can be found here http://www.bavariantechnic.com/
  18. I use this http://dx.com/p/bmw-scanner-1-4-car-vehicle-diagnostic-tool-126933 (free shipping), most coding available with it , I have tried a few and this is heads and shoulders above the rest. You have to be careful with it though as you could do some damage if you played around with some of the advanced functions. Works on windows 7 and 8 no problems.
  19. sh*t did not even notice that, auto correct.
  20. Yeah spelling was me trying to use my phone to post Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  21. Don't mind me just sitting in the third waiting room at the eye clinic, appointment was for 10.30am, gotta love the public system. Was drinking a coffee and had my phone In one hand and my phone went off made me choke on my coffee and splutter everywhere, everybody staring at me Haha, trying to make conversation with people but nope no body wants to talk what a bunch of boaring buggers Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  22. Not sure how long this has been out but i only came across it today and put this on my phone , very handy and great to see this sort of thing coming out here , Just the 3 main cities at the moment but I am sure it will expand in time. I like the idea of being able to see how far away the taxi is and you can track it and also being able to pay via my phone. http://www.zoomy.co.nz/
  23. +1 , Mine was the left hand side. Fixed it up and it resolved the issue.
