  1. no, go read the rules on the LeMons forums, LINKY
  2. At the moment $700 as its enough for you to buy a $500 car and spend $200 on fixing say a broken water pump ect ect as that seems to be a problem with most cheap cars Cars will not need a W.O.F or Reg but will need to comply with Schedule A
  3. Update: Event is going to be held November the 6th with the intent of reoccurring the first friday evening of each month. The Entry Fee is $75 permitting there are more than 20 cars,$60 with 30 cars or $50 with 40 cars. Driver requirements are that the driver will need to hold a current national race license, IIRC costs $135 All cars will have to run under schedule A and will be scrutineerd before the race, cars will not require a log book. Transponders will be required, If you want to rent one its $30 each time. Spread the word
  4. delete all your bimmersport cookies, works a treat at fixing that problem
  5. no, but cars will be inspected to make sure they are safe, i.e. no rust on suspension mounts or seats mounts, seats are secure ect ect
  6. requirements cant really be decided on until Motorsport NZ have their say, im hoping for standard cars can run as standard cars and modified cars will have to have a rollcage ect ect might have to write the rule in that no modifications can be made to the car and that all parts on the car must be factory, that would keep the cars relatively slow and mean that no one would need a rollcage ect ect all I can do is guess what their verdict will be.
  7. maybe it is schedule A, this event was only drafted last night so nothing is near finalized, my argument towards Motorsport NZ is that there is no grassroots racing, everything is so expensive these days, hence why it is mainly older people that can afford to race, this is an oppurtunity for uni students and people without the funds to race properly and have a good time doing so. If they do relax regulation it will probably result in the implementation of a minimum lap time to stop people going to fast. All will be revealed once Motorsport N.Z. reply, hopefully the fun police won't ruin the event.
  8. cheers for the heads up, this will conform any way M.N.Z. want it too, The only argument that is going to be pushed is the one of what level of license is required, i.e. either Clubsport or National Race. My dad has run many race meets before so I trust his word and he is also involved in the running Hampton Downs so I'm not going to organise this whole thing to find out i'm not alowed to run the event there, every dicision I make is passed through him. With your advice towards flame retardendt suits, the rules have a passage that states all cars must conform to schedual K, meaning all drivers must have a certified helmet and ovaralls, also all cars must have a rollcage ect if modified. Basically if motorsport N.Z. give me a permit I don't have to pay liability insurance and the permit might be on the basis of only requiring a clubsport license, If they dont, I have to pay $800p/a in liability insurance and competitors will need a national race license.
  9. wooops, changed it, i'll finalize entry costs once Motorsport NZ get back to me on how cheaply I can run it, i.e. how many of there regulations we have to follow, mainly safety requirements and license requirements.
  10. i wrote a similar thing into the rules
  11. it will deff be on a track, ive written up some rules which my dad is going to forward to motorsport NZ, hopefully motorsport NZ will let us do our own thing i.e. no competition driver licenses ect, to keep cost down as that's the point of the whole thing, cheap fun also made up a basic website, its got the rules in the forum. Linky also was thinking would be funto have a bit of forum rivalry going on, ie Bimmersport Work's team ect ect sound if you use nz forums might be a good idea to spread the word around. last thing to say is that this could be a monthly thing on a friday evening starting november on the national track as track hire is only $1150 for twilight. entry for the first meet will be about $75 depending if i have to pay liability insurance or if Motorsport NZ will cover it by giving me a permit to run the event.
  12. sounds like a plan, anyone got a paddoc to thrash?

thats exactly why I said it.
  15. yeah i know, but my dad recon's that competitors can't use a clubsport license as the event is not being run by a club or some jargon i'll look into it further
  16. its $135 and you apply with it using this form edit, so if your in a team of 2 your costs would be somthing like $500 on a car $100 on fuel $135 on a license each ~$75 entry fee so if you split costs that would be ~$400 each the first time, then events following all your cost's would be about $100 each, each time, depending if you car survives
  17. if you put a rollcage in it has to meet all the regulations of having a cage with a normal track car, so it would probably end up costing alot more than your car would be worth. the whole idea is for people to buy cheap cars, strip them, paint them crazy paint schemes then try to last the race and have a whole lotta fun while doing so. Helemts and flame retardant overalls will be compulsory tho
  18. I found it looks like im logged out but as soon as I go past the main forum page it logs me in. never had any success with the main bimmersport.co.nz page keeping me logged on.

nice buy, was thinking hard about getting it myself go for a S38, leave everyone behind
  20. it is 100% non contact you cant have obsticals to go through as that means the track has to be re-graded, which cost lots of money
  21. depending what spending cap is implemented, yea sure In the USA to stop people spending heaps they have an auction after the race, with the reserve being what you can prove you spent on it. It stops people cheating an saying they got all the parts for $10 and also stops people from putting really expensive things (engine, suspension ect ect) in that they already have. meaning that if the spending cap was $500 and you spent $1500 on a cage/seats and harness your reserve price would be $2k I don't think you even need a cage and seats if you car is 100% original (what my dad said)
