Update, no pics The whole thing is wired up and ready to go..................one problem, it doesn't really go They have traced the problem back to the ECU, it was running on 3/6 cylinders and those 3 were only injecting fuel every 3 rotations. Apparently this is a common problem that will be fixed by a software update. (we'll thats what the manufacture said) So tomorrow it will be off to the dyno, once the ECU is updated in the morning will probably have the video camera so i'll post up dyno runs tomorrow night Cutting it a bit fine eh.

My dad will be racing the E30S50 and im going to be a test pilot on Friday I'll be in Jennian doing timing all weekend Also might have a wireless network set up so that people with laptops can pick up the timing feed, see me up in Jennian for a network password and the software to run it.

don't worry, it's the norm to get stupid offers, gets really annoying when people start offering a PS3 with 3 games, or your asking 2k and they offer $200 plus a 29" CRT TV

Should get some of the S50 E30's together

in theory it should be a bit harder to push, but as you have stated haven't had a chance to try it yet, can't wait till Friday

Update, no pics We have ditched the factory ecu and have gone aftermarket, This has been for a number of reason's, but mainly because..... to get the EWS working involved buying a new EWS unit from BMW, but that woulden't solve the problem that it could fail at any moment which happend IIRC on paul mills car when it suddenly decided to reset while on testing and woulden't start. This has ment the entire car loom has been taken out and only a few things remain, I think the only wire to the rear is for the brake lights, has saved on a fair bit of weight it now also has only 3 guages... Revs, oil pressure and Water Temp, keeps things simple also now there is a fuel cell where the spare wheel used to go, with a dipstick for measuring the fuel level I'll try get some pics tommorow and if all goes well it will be seing the track this comming friday.

When I had a few mates round we pulled it pretty quick, think it was about 40min I had everything already sorted tho, I had all the right sized tools and engine hoist ready to go, really all that needs to be done is For behind the Engine 3 driveshaft Bolts 2 clutch slave Bolts 2 gearbox mount Bolts 1 gearstick Bolt Infront of the gearbox Unplug ecu and pull plug threw Undo car loom to engine loom plub Undo airbox on to the rubber elbow Take radiator out (so easy on f/l cars) Take bonnet off (6 bolts) 2 engine mount bolts undo Heater pipes (2) undo fuel line (2) take off AFM plug disonnect + terminal Easy, only downside is now you have fuel and water everywhere
-
If its your first time, 2 hours, to save time you can pull the engine and gearbox out as one unit. If you've done it before, about ~30min depending on how easy everything wants to come undone, driveshaft bolts are usually a killer of time, same with where the exhaust connects to the manifold.
