  1. Brent you are encouragable I tell ya! So tell me about this remapped one?
  2. Here you can see the different sizes. It ran fine with the smaller maf and airbox, but why not go the whole hog? Thanks to Brent I have bought the another airfilter for an E34 540i. I swapped the top with my bottom, the 540i one had an extra hole? It is supposed to be there, but it isn't in a place that is good for drainage, anyway when in doubt use the original till proven otherwise. Bolted it up, and its awesome, same as. No leaks or anything. The secondhand MAF off trademe works as it should to, for all intents and purposes mechanically it is like any other 540i. I think the ecu's are the same, don't know for sure, but I am going to get it chipped. That should do me!
  3. Murphys f'n law! I was hard out looking for alloys in the U.K and bought some locally just the other day. Sometimes I just hate looking at topic threads I should have read but missed by a day or so. I would have been all over this. aarrrrggghhhhhh
  4. Part numbers are different by realoem. Could be the same...but you know these ruddy things! Some of the easiest things bmw could have done...well they didn't do it that way in this instance.
  5. Hi, I need the top of the housing that encapsulates the air filter and attaches to the MAF. I have the smaller 530i one and I am converting to the 540i one which is larger. You would think they would just have it so that there is a spacer or something in there...nope. Please text me. I am in Ranui, but can travel, prefer Auckland please. 021795306 Cheers Lionel

    wheels 5x120

I will, well might be letting go of my hamann 18x8.5 et13's at some stage depending on how things go. Decent poke that's for sure, if that's what you're after? IS it urgent? If so I probably cannot help ya.
  7. Hey Bud, It would depend on how you would like your car to look and perform? Then there is how much would you want to spend to that end? Have a look on google at some E34's and you will soon see something that you like, then see how they did it. I will suggest though is be prepared to spend a lot of money if you are looking at a major improvements on top of what you already have. Plenty of E34's on here, and we have probably gone well past our original budgets...then some... Lionel
  8. Well I need to get them to Auckland then giggle madly. I have to re-bore the centres so they fit for starters. Then I have to dismantle what would be 2 for the front. Buy 2 new inner barrels, that are 2 inches shorter, assemble, polish and mount new tyres. Then for the rear 2, I will need 10mm hub-centric spacers, mount 2 new tyres, heck certification will be cheaper than re-barreling those 2 alone. But, I will take some pics when I get them in, cause the skeptics are going to say...'no flippin way'... Should be fun...like all of the other minor/major projects I have don't to this car...not!
  9. I just bought some bloody ridiculous 17"x11" 3 piece rims in the hope I can throw even more money at them so that they can fit appropriately on my E34. I own an E34 which kinda infers I like spending all my money on cars....
  10. Ok, So I went on holiday to Europe for 5 weeks and other stuff happened. So where was I...oh yes car started and ran well, but there was a coolant leak somewhere, and it looked to be coming from the valley pan area. Under the manifold at least. Weeks alter I bought a Uro valley pan with membrane attached. 2 weeks later I cleaned it up o-ringed everything and tightened it down...yippee 2 Weeks later its leaking, from what looks like the same area. I borrowed a pressure tester from work. Flash alright, it showed me what I already knew. It was leaking at the valley pan gasket. 2 weeks later I pull it apart. The membrane is split in two going all around. It's mustard. I clean up the original, with some 60 grit sandpaper or whatever was closest to me and did some good ole fashion googling. After a time I buy some permetex 'the right stuff', it is supposed to be pretty good in areas like this, i.e. crap areas that like to leak all the time. So I clean it up, clean all the bolts on a wire machine thing, Loctite them nicely, I even bought a nice 1/4" torque wrench. I noticed one of the bolts wouldn't go in straight so got a shorter one and that was better. It must have been one of the three that I had to drill out that must have had some dregs left. As you can imagine I have m6 and m8 bolts of many sizes due to the swap over, so I used a shorter one. I used the permetex on the valley pan, nice and square, torqued to spec and prayed to god, using many swear words as possible. Apparently it works straight away, the skeptic in me won me over and I left it overnight then some. No need to re-torque apparently. I put it altogether and... well it ran, and it didn't leak, but the idle kept hunting like a real mongrel. I swapped some stuff over... There was a coil soaked in oil and was running on 7, so swapped that out. No leaks anywhere... I used crc, and it is still hunting and going up and down sporadically it was here when I went googling and I thought, I am stuffed without a diagnostic thing (whatever they are called), and I cant be bothered swapping everything over, only to find it is something I cant find.. I swapped in the old (cant remember which one actually, but the other one), the other TPS and coil looking thing. It ran, it stopped hunting, I also changed a temp sensor from the rear accumulator, could have been any one of them, but I don't care. It runs like a dream, before today, it never ran under 750rpm. Now its between 650-700 and its the best it's ever run. So the swap is complete, well complete and running like it should. I have parts for Africa, and I hope I never have to use them, but it's fair to say, they are there when I will need them. Going to throw the 3l to the recycle guys. The clutch feels different, better? Don't know but it can handle the power for now, it should be run-in by now, and I have taken it for a good blast. Best ever mod for a 530i 5 speed by miles. Next on my list is to go to 17" alloys as my 18x8.5 Hamanns are probably a tad too big for the HD billies and stiffer springs and spherical this and that. Then there is the glovebox to fix...
  11. I did a quick one from ECS Tuning, whom I have been ordering from due to many of their prices being more competitive than Pelican AND cheaper freight.
  12. Any offers? On the trailer tomorrow to the dump, garage needs the space.
  13. Hi I bought this off pelican parts a year ago maybe and I couldn't get it to fit in my manual courtesy of the third pedal. The split versions must be nice and easy. This one is the full size all in one go cabin filter. Auto's must be easy, I couldn't be bothered trying to force it in with the third pedal. I just have nothing now after all that, so this has been in the garage, still in original packaging. They are currently $26.50 minus freight ex USA. Condition: New Make: Corteco From: Pelican parts Wanting $20.00 pick up only Ranui first genuine inquiry should secure it 021 795 306 Cheers Lionel
  14. Bump: Or what have you, not necessarily cash. Anyone? 021795306 Lionel
  15. I get my bolts and things from Waitemata Hydraulics. They know their stuff. http://www.waihyd.co.nz/ Cheers
  16. Hi, Use a suitably sized socket and an extension. Centre it best you can, find a socket so that it just fits in there snugly with a bit of movement. Your hands holding the clutch disc should feel the same amount of overlap (if applicable for your set-up). Get a mate to double check what you are looking at and tighten it down. You don't need the clutch alignment tool.
  17. Hi, I bought these off trademe a few months ago. I was going to have a play with them. I had a look and it's a bit out of my league me thinks. They could be good in a project possibly, or whatever. They are electric, but I have not tried to get them going. One of the seat belt stays has broken, common apparently, the other one is fine. Looking for offers around $100.00 will have to collect though. West Auckland. Cell: 021795306 Cheers Lionel

    V8 M60 3.0

Hi, Cleaning out the garage after having completed my 3.0 to 4.0 conversion. I have a 3.0 block and heads, heads not removed, not by me anyway, so I guess never. Car was running fine, I just wanted to do the 4.0 conversion. I obviously have quite a few other bits and pieces. The old clutch disc/PP and flywheel can go to. Need it gone as it's cluttering up my brothers driveway. I thought about doing a coffee table, but I just don't have the time. Any enquires just text me or reply or PM I guess. Ranui collection. It's on trademe now. Cheers Lionel 021795306. Pictures to follow.
  20. Agreed Brent, that's why I want one I have got the bigger throttle body and I am getting a new intake pipe to suit as the other one is pretty poor, hence the wanting of the larger diameter AFM off any 4.0. Cheers
  21. Hi I have gone from 3.0l to 4.0l so might as well update the AFM in due course. I would like to spend $50.00 max if possible. I believe all of the 4.0l AFM's in any guise will work? Please PM me. E34 Cheers Lionel
  22. Hi, Anyone got 4 good condition ones? My ones were ok, put them in one piece, didn't do much with the car, but I just took the intake manifold off and they are cracked to hell, I am going to araldite them together, but if anyone has a good secondhand set, then I might do that.
  23. o.k, got most of it all together. It was idling when coolant starting pissing out all over the place near the rear. I have no idea where, but I am guessing its the valley pan, but I hope not, I was hoping a loose hose clip wa off, the car got hot then started coming out the overflow under pressure, didn't get too hot, maybe 1pm position. Next job...finding the leak, have to pull flippin manifold off etc etc
  24. Hi, As the heading suggests, I have pulled out the washer system and the fog lights off my E34 front bumper. Here it is still on the bumper, the water tank will come with it also, the very bottom one of the three. You get the jets etc everything you should need to make it work for your car. You will have to sort whatever you need to make it work on your car as I have no idea how to plumb it in to a car without this system. The Fogs are standard, nothing wrong with them, functional, no cracks or bits of missing plastic etc, much better design and quality than the E36 ones I had, they broke all over the place. Fogs $60.00 for the pair as is, these work. Headlight washer stuff $60.00. as is, I haven't used it, I don't even know where the switch is? But it's all there, same waterpump motors as the others. or trade whatever cool E34 stuff you have holed up in your garages Call / text me on 021795306 before the weekend then I will list them on trademe Cheers Lionel
