I absolutely love it after watching the topgear episode on it. Pretty much the 1 is the future of true motorsport cars by the looks .. not that I like the new 2012 1 shape *barf* Anyways .. Lets hope this one doesnt get written off by automotive journalists like the last few m cars in this country!

They run fine on 8's. 9's are nearly impossible to find cheap second hand as far as wheels go.

Factory anchor points with eye bolts for the over shoulders and laps are welded plates and eyebolts as per cert laws. Im boarder line about the cage for several reasons Pro: Safety (car isnt exactly a road car putting around the track anymore) Chassis stiffness (running slicks great but highlights chassis flex) Con: Its not a road car anymore really, convineance factor = gone Stopping using the car so interest factor drops until track day. Have watched a few people complete there cars in my time cage it and basically loose interest as they cant practically use it any more. But yes ... I like my spine so will probably end up caging it soonish

Not sure yet .. but if you can imagine going from something that take two hands and a bit of omph to move around to something that you can lift with your baby fingre Im expecting 20-30 ? maybe. Will weigh it all tonight and report back. On the track I wont be running a passengers seat.

hahah did you let her drive it .. one would think it would change her mind for her!

Would of been Tom (M3 Power) returning it back to Team in New Market. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=36571

Hmmm will see how I go, Im 6'2 so the old legs are fairly close the steering wheel anyways, I kind of like the angle and height as its more of a hillclimb/rally postion where your arms are quite bent which allows you to control the wheel a little bit better if you get into a slide. It suits the dtm shifter position too. There are (race spares) but its the type of thing that never makes it to trademe if you get what I mean. I was expecting a little bit of hate mail about it as its not exactly going onto a original DTM car.

hmmmm pushing it there mrad

hmm I have one that is missing a ring gear. Not sure of its condition as I have never used it (was off the s50) if that helps?

Spotted the elusive dark blue/red pin stripe e30 m3 in undisclosed location around forrest hill in its garage. Saw it driving around a few years a go and wondered where it had gone .. now I know
-
Go on a cruise with the m3 ? you have some kick ass roads and passes down there.
-
Probably can do their dylan .. get some old 17x8 wheels and you can run slicks
-
nice man ... forgot to ask, how didyour new setup go apart from the laptime difference
-
Ended up using half of the frame (rails half) and Brendan made up a new frame for it and drilling and shaping the side brackets. Keeping all the adjustiblity but none of the height. He has them in his toyota ae86 drift car and is the same height as me so got it as low as possible. Really love the new position now makes you feel alot more confident around corners etc. That wiper motor was a bit of an impulse buy, but worth it I think.

hehe no not itallian. It weighs absolutely nothing.

On the quest for lower lap times decided to do something about the seats. Ill post what the new road seats will be later, theyre not quite done yet. Recaro SPG Race Shell Modified and lowered Recaro rails Recaro side brakets Willian 3 inch harnesses. This is before lowering. After This is the next mod Bonus points to who can guess what it is .. you need to be accurate.

Youll have mine on Friday in your account. I will hassle others too.

Tom (M3 Power) will know hes pretty much the un-official CSL register for the country
-
you know if theyre going to all that trouble they might as well just make a full nav computer replacement. Andriod based of corse. Great work anyways

Sweet, They take a little skill to get right as its hard to get the two paints even. Unfortunately paint process wise its more expensive than just straight paint. Arrow up here charges around 250 per wheel last time I looked at it. Makes an expensive total solution but looks really good. All the best looks do really

It still has the problem in everything I have tried with LED halos

I tried having a go at photo shopping the wheel colour however that photo has one wheel in the sun and one out. The rear wheel looks really bad when I do it as its over exposed. Can you get a new photo with them both out of the sun ? .. same angle is fine. Personally however the only wheel colour change thats going to suit is getting them pollished and clear coated or get whats called a shadow chrome which is a process of painting them black then applying a thin layer of high metallic silver over the top and then clear coating. Some e39 m5 wheels are like this and it looks awesome.
