    2008 BMW M3

seeing as the m5 is 200-220k that would make it look good value too

    2008 BMW M3

sticker price will be 145k-150k (mostly optioned) when its finally on sale here (as with the e46 M3) .. This is a que jumper price.
  3. The back wouldnt be that hard to fix, as for the bumpers ... just ring up hamann... would make a cheap supercar.
  4. Hit a wash out on esmonde road at 1am in the pissing rain. Broke, Control arm linkage, moved the strut tower 5mm bent both wheels and rooted two tires. The loose wheel then ripped into my custom front guards / fenders and and the m3 side skirts (all brand new 6months prior including the paint job) Car off the road for 8 weeks getting put back to its former glory. then it happened again, just not as bad came away with bent rims. so, new set of wheels and its back to normal.
  5. I like it over the coupe personally.

    Which Exhaust

Woolfe mufflers do some really really nice remus systems they have quite the extensive range. have been to them twice twice now in the recent months and one for a full system, highly recommened.
  7. Was hoping someone from that day would post their impressions. Thanks! a nice read
  8. yeah they are good, just pitty sometimes they have a 2+ week waiting list when all you need is something quickly looked at. But yes, recommend them for quality servicing
  9. 500hp walbros are good .. a little on the noisy side if mounted directly to the bare metal but will move your fuel. We will probably go with two of them in the end.
  10. hehe nice to see you own it now and are have it back in the community. Charly use to own it last year sometime I believe. Maybe get the DTM tips / exhaust re hung set it back a little, so its closer to the rear valance. And when you can, change the wheels to something a bit more period specific (not nessicarily old either ) maybe something mesh ? .. .. im biased welcome though man! .. nice to see you've joined.
  11. http://www.roadracetech.com/images/videos/..._sat_sprint.wmv part of the UUC team putting out over 400rwhp N/A one hell of a car.
  12. this is true, but what im saying is you can't keep up with a more powerful cars to stay compeditive. low powered cars have great difficulty drifting on straights at speed, in 3rd gear they just dont have the lower end torque to spin the wheels. Which is where a lot of people loose points because of lack of smoke and the ability to link a drift to the next corner. Manfield is a killer for this.
  13. hmmmm not to rain on the ae86 and the e30, they are great cars for going sideways. One big problem they have is they can't go fast enough to keep up with the more powerful vehicles to remain compeditive. Its almost painful to watch the remaining compeditive ae86's drift in the series as they just dont have the power to sustain a high speed slide. You need something with lower end torque and muscle to get the wheels spinning and keep em spinning even when the track straighens out. A turboed v8 would be awesome option to achieve this.
  14. Nothing a bit of stripping out wouldnt solve. The have the advantage of a longer wheel base so would be easier to swing than an e30. The key to it is big tires for smoke and grip (as backwards as that sounds) and a great after market suspension package and setup. Strip it, cage it do some good engine work and work on the radiator / cooling system to make sure its up to the sustained high revs , and I would look at an after market braking solution. Hydrulic hand brake (e brake). Here is a video of Andy Sapp with an e46 325i with a KAAZ LSD who competes in the states quite sucessfully. Maybe also have a talk to some of the d1nz guys about their setups. The nissan cefero isnt far of the e34 for specs. just another thought ray, have you thought about the possiblity of turboing it instead ? just the last time I looked at ESS supercharger kits, your looking big $$$. I betting you could twin turbo it for less and have the potential to push more HP if needed later on ?
  15. Do it ... you would have to lighten it up some what and I would maybe look at make it bit more free reving.
  16. Sorry the pics are a bit shitty, hard zooming / driving / phone camera'ing at 80kph in rush hour Also this CSL I photoed a while ago.

    Jungle FS

sweet its rolling around quite nicely at the moment ... however that will change soon. Engine mock up time over xmas.
  18. Andrew's m20b25 racecar (will be b31 ) will be making around 280-300bhp when done (N/A) With the right work you can do upwards of that on an m50b25. To turbo an m50b25 engine there are people in the states pulling 600rwhp in extreme cases on stock internals with just head gaskets and arp studs head bolts. The potential is defantily there with m50's
  19. sweet, will look into the suspension when I get home, the whole thing will be pulled to bits later next yeah as the sub frame is being done the same time its in the shop. Yeah a bit of a pooer about the engine but no worry, by the time we need to rebuild it, I will have another block by then.
  20. I think some of the comments in that thread some up people attitudes toward vehicles in NZ full stop. People think that cars will go for ever with no servicing or replacing of components. Then you have the people who buy the cheapest deal of the jap import range, feel they have got a deal (usually a badly repaired crash repair vehicle) then wonder why everything starts to go on it. So they blame the car brand. They are also usually the same people who dont understand cars at all and mouth off and whinge to everyone possible saying it the brands fault. for the amount of joy / freedom a vehicle brings and for the amount of use our vehicles get I think its well worth the servicing fees we pay.
  21. Time for an update. Been a while since the last update. The engine has been in at hi velocity being worked on and prepped for mock and generally being checked. The s50b32 has had a bit of a hard life outside and unfortunily had water in cylinder 1 which has caused a bit of pitting. The crank also hand a bit of minor rust on it but nothing that a bit of machining wont fix. Rust in Cylinder 1 s50 block (note 3.2ltr cylinder walls are pretty thin as standard in the ole iron block) Head Double Vanos and cams As it stands cylinder 1 is being bored to 18thou to check that the pitting doesnt extend over the 20 thou (.5mm) bore we are looking to do. Standard pistons are 86.4mm we will take it to 86.9mm. Once everything is sorted out, we will be ordering 86.9mm over size J.E oversize low comp forged pistons with 10thou under size main and big end bearings. Brendon and I have been learning a whole lot over the past month around what combination will suit our application and have had some excellent help from overseas in what options we will be going with. We will be looking at the the mock up engine install this side of NYE. Then around feb get the car into have the piping and manifold hung / fab'd up. Anyways that all for now. Will post more on the drive train conversion (which is now complete) with photos when I get home tomorrow
