My friend from the states said he was looking into buying a new e46 (back about 3 years ago) for 30000 USD I was like ?? you're joking right .. he said no Then just cruising through e46 fanatics I came across this ... this is what they pay for a new optioned up 335i This works out to about 83k which is pretty cheap. Why are we paying up to $40000 more on a retail price ? So apart from demand, are we really being government import tax / dealership tax / BMW NZ taxed that high ... or do BMW NZ get charged too much ?

VENUE RELOCATION We regret to announce that due to reasons beyond our anticipation and control, we have had to relocate the Phat 08 Taster event booked be held at the Studio, 340 Karangahape Road. We are so sorry that it's so late in the day, but we've waited until the eleventh hour and have been doing ALL we can possibly do to rectify this matter. Due to a previously undisclosed legal matter pertaining to the sale of the building, between the current owners of Studio and prospective new owners of the property, the Studio doors were locked and the current owners not allowed in. It must be stressed, absolutely, that Tag Promotions were not informed of any potential issue and were only made aware when we attempted to gain access to begin loading in equipment on Wednesday 19th at 16:00 hours. At this time we were advised that the locksmiths changing the locks to the office space upstairs had inadvertently changed the front door locks also and we were assured that, at 09:00 hours on Thursday 20th September, we would be allowed to load in equipment. It was not until Thursday at 11:00 hours that we were made aware of this legal matter and were told it was in the process of being resolved. We sourced a further update at 18:00 hours and were once again assured it was definitely being rectified and access would be granted Friday 21st September at 09:00 hours. We still can’t get in, the doors are still locked. As this shockingly and regretfully did not eventuate, Tag Promotions has had no option but to resort to a back up plan rather than cancel. After research and discussions we have decided to move to Galatos (main room and basement) and Kiss and Bacio. Remaining tickets at all outlets have been pulled to avoid overcrowding. To gain entry into both venues tickets must be redeemed at the central process point of Galatos main room. PRIORITY for entrance will be given to all those who have PURCHASED tickets. This includes earlybird tickets, tickets directly purchased from Tag, M-Tickets, and all tickets purchased from our outlets, being Real Groovy, Cosmic Corner, Conch Records and Beat Merchants. Tag Promotions has adjusted the set times accordingly and they are attached. Whilst we realize this is not ideal, this is our only option apart from cancelling the event which we refuse to do. I'm not one to condradict stocks as they defanitily know their sh*t. But aftermarket replacement coilovers should just bolt straight up ... Hell even my e30's ground control rear konis did and that was with offset top mounts. Sounds a bit fishy. I would actually email the companies in the states .. they dont bite .. and youll find they are more than helpful.

There are a few remaps Dinan / AA / Tecknik offer for the e46, they make ok gains but at the expense of fuel economy and sometimes cause flat spots else where. If you ever need your ECU updated at BMW they will end up wiping it all in favour for there software. (they do back it up but it does take hours) Most of them however have been tuned for US fuel. It is possible to get the maps redone on the standard ECU however it requires (as with anything) dyno time for the car in the current conditions. best gains for an e46 that are in the first stage range is a good qaulity intake/filter and exhaust work. (removing the restrictive OEM sensor section) Fabricating a new oxygen sensor section for more flow will give you really good gains in the higher rev range as the standard . (have personally done this) Along with a good tuned exhaust system. Next is headers and throttle body / intake is another option to consider.

Give performalink a phone and say your from bimmersport. I got a great discount on my v2 KW coilovers for my e46 for about 3kNz incl GST. 6500 seems a bit naff for pss9's .. I was qouted 4500 retail for the e46 kit. Around the camber thing, it is worth while but not needed unless your going down quite low.

ahh righto, the tie rod arm. yeah, they are about $190 each. Struts either way will cost you $1700 for the pair (m3 or bilstien) the whole lot (not including brakes) is about 2700 to do. I would (if I had to do it again) go the bilstien strut way as it doesnt require cutting and welding the new spring perch if you want "coil overs"

Yeap, you just need to buy the M3 sway bar links and bearing / hub set as well and your front is 5 lug. Its not hard to modify the spring perch either to what ever you want,However, you just need to cert it under NZ law.

Since they started logging into e46fanatics and copying their styles. It makes me lol a little, aftermarket and even BMW have lifted ideas / designs from the fanatics community before. This is basically a direct SoCal copy ... not that this is a bad thing they are however about a year and a half behind.
