    21' tyres

I know wheels and tires for 20inch where going to cost me 9.5k all up .. 21's will be upwards of that in this country
  3. just a note. Leathering the interior and door cards costs 2500. for anything you want .. anyone is more than welcome to see the level of workmanship / stiching on my car (another level above stock BMW leather)
  4. Thought Id post this up ... pretty interesting stuff. Most works but remember this list is for US e46's so some doesnt apply.
  5. Guido / BM Workshop is one of the top BMW mechanics in the country ... your in safe hands.
  6. There are a few copies around ... with wooden spoilers .. (yes wood) A person I use to know had one .. and would stop preaching it ... I just couldn't understand. Mind you I have only just got the missus to understand the difference between an e30 m3 and a m325. each to their own

    Bam's new LP640

yeah actually that style is now old ... its all about "Time Attack" rims ... NZ is 5 years behind.
  9. unfortunitly link wont support vanos control .. you'll need a SM4 Autronic or Motec m8 ECU. Or a TSI piggy back and retain vanos control on the original ECU.
  10. crusty wheels -> any reason for jager

  13. I took a drive recently from AKL to wellington and back (all between 24hours) I noticed the difference when 95 started to head into the lines vs the 98. the car was a bit more sluggish mainly in the mid range area. But was all good once I got 98 back through the tank / lines. (took a couple of fills) It does only make the slightest of difference. Maybe the difference you feel between a cold and hot day. On the higher compression motors you defantinly notice it. (EG M3) I guess, its for the driver to decide weather the difference in their car is worth the money or not. 95 is fine for most people.
  14. getting there .. trying to sort out nav computer and harness intime before jochen gaps it ..
  15. You can retrofit the nav to your e46 (ebay the parts)... however only one more month and jochen has gone from the country.
  16. PM me what you want for that steering wheel. thanks
  17. Basically its a solid weekend and a bit job .. you also need to have the car suspened on the chassis remove the diff / trailing arms / half shafts etc etc.. then remove the subframe ... press out old bushes ... press in new ones .. re-install and done. If you haven't done it before I would get someone to atleast give you a hand on a couple of points (removing the diff etc etc) Chris on this site recently did this on his e30. You'll need good solid axel stands too hook on the chassis and a decent jack. + a couple of sets of sockets. You'll also be draining the brake fluid so youll need a brake bleed kit. it might take a professional with all the gear and hoist a lot less time however.
  18. It seems to have something to do with the either the time mobil lets their petrol sit and / or the water table in the tanks. This may not be the same for every mobil but the ones in AKL I have tried just seem to be inconsistant where as BP I have never had a problem. Around the older car side of things... you probably wont notice the difference as much as fuel injection technology has changed over time. "Atomisation" of the fuel is a lot better in newer cars as the injectors will break up other fuel a lot better. Pinking is caused by a lot of things. * worn spark plugs / HT leads * h2o in the fuel * ambient air temprature too high * worn injectors * high humidity * low octane ratings (NZ's bad fuel) (NZ rates fuel in RON not PON like the U.S ) * blocked air filter * buggered AFM * abnormal lower compression you get the picture.... here is an explanation I posted last time http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....st=0#entry77464
  19. 98 BP ... mobil have issues with there tanks and have found the car will generally pink with mobil in it. Never had an issue with BP Ultimate. Octane booster doesn't do anything BTW you really need to have "off" fuel for it to make an difference .. Here is an interesting video for you all.. also for interest http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=73e_1192001762

dear doug .... pic a weekend ... am looking to test out new coilovers on the e46 ... you friend josh
  21. "MrBlonde" (the cars owner) has since pulled that to bits.. he was selling most of it off a we while back. There are some good stage 1 kits that Active Autowerks does for around the 6k mark.
