I run V1 .. its saved myself and a few of the boys on the runs many many times. But yeah best option is to not speed ... especially in popular areas. I have more fun in the twistes anyways than going flat out.

There are several places that offer supercharging kits for BMW. With supercharging, all the money is tied up in the ECU flash as buying the parts and doing the construction yourself is not that difficult. I looked into this option for my 330i. I decided not to go ahead for the reason that I have a automatic gearbox and would only be able to pull 360bhp tops outta my setup before I would have to go manual 6 speed gear box setup. The total project cost to do this was sitting on the side of 25k NZ to do it properly. For me and what I have already spent on the car; not worth it for my daily driver. From all my research of the past year(s) there are only few outfits I trust in the US and Europe from my readings on many forums, end user experiences / write ups. Here is the list. http://www.activeautowerke.com/ http://www.technikpower.com/ http://www.esstuning.com/ BMW FI Community forums http://www.bmwpsi.com/forum/ Superchargers give you a different type of power than say a turbo. Superchargers are limited by power vs engine revs. This mean that the more you rev the engine the more power you get .. So to have your peak power you will have be prepare to rev the engine out more than say a turbo setup. The great thing is you have a more even torque curve and you dont suffer from compressor spool up time as you do with a turbo setup. The feels more natural to drive. hope this helps Josh

You got connectivity to the laptop yet ? First thing no point assing around with it until you get wide band opened up. Then look for leaks. Then mechanical.

Your running 19's ... quite similar to mine. Its a big sqeeze to get em on ... the problem is if you get em on legal limit the can make the car look a bit high. I have sweet f all clearence on my rear guards and tires but I have had quite a bit of flaring alround. What ends up making my car look low is the fact the wheels are close to the guards and the wheel line follows the arch of the guard. Infact I have quite a bit of travel, and suprisingly enough the m3 front still has a lot of clearence to park / speed bumps. At the end of the day its up to you what you do, but I would raise it a little personally. You enjoy your car a lot more getting a good set of coil overs in. And you can really use that power you have under the bonnet.

I think more of the case is that warrent standard(s) need to be fair. Everytime I roll my e46 through the warrent station they pick on something .. Its actually funny watching them over test the e46 to find any fault with it. Where as I have taken older cars through with more issues than you can shake a stick at .. and they have passed through without a problem.

sorry im not sure if your already running this or not. But I would look into the exaust side of things first. Equal length extractors, shrick cam and a nice flowing exaust, lightened flywheel .. fairly inexpensive mods. Then moving into springs and valves would be the next thing. From here you can start lightening / treating your engine internals etc etc.. but this sort of thing wont leave you much change from 10k + A big thing overlooked by most people is the weight in the car. Can be the best performance gains from saving weight here and there. Also your rotating mass, such as wheels, drive shafts ... again .. its more on the hardcore side of modding.

it will likely come with 19inch rims and be pushing over 400BHP (around the 420 mark it seems) ... they have kept this figure close to their chest. The guys were allowed to photograph everything except the speedo (the test driver covered this). I know they are wanting to show audi up with this.... and they will.

One of the crew in the states managed to catch up with what seems like a test driver for the new e92 M3 Before every cries its not real / it could be anything, several of the cali cats have seen it in real life and have confirmed. few dodgy pics shakey cam footage http://s29.photobucket.com/albums/c277/blu...current=187.flv http://s29.photobucket.com/albums/c277/blu...current=186.flv also ... to confirm it (compare number plates)

yea, Auckland quite often does the 98% humidity around the spring months. I leave mine on 100% of the time, don't notice it ... Infact I had a little chuckle at the end of the day on the Taupo track day, I had left it on by mistake all day racing.

What offset are these ? -
Hey and welcome to the site If your buying, Stay away from the singapore import models, there are a million reasons, but basically the cars have a hard time in the 98% humidity and hot running conditions. Get jap import. They cost these days about the same to service as any other vehicle. Sounds like a sweet car, but pay the extra money and get it checked out by BMW ... not the AA or hometune (etc etc) as they will give you the realistics of that particular vehicle. The rest on a BMW is just common sense stuff Cools..
