    E36 M3 EVO

I wish I had space at my house .. otherwise I would say yes ...
  3. Without going into the artform that is turbo dynamics... Short awnser yes ... what I am saying here is that they have built this engine to fill a gap in the market .. it is what it is ... my big hack off with it .. is it could be sooo much more with A) high flowing turbo(s) and m3 eater. However limitations on the block would restrict much past about 550hp as its alloy.
  4. to show how small the turbos really are ... gus's beer behind the whole thing
  5. ahh I think it may take a year or so for regular 5 owners get on the site.. It happened to me with the 46 when I first joined.
  6. Thats what BMW want most people to think .... WOW we made a turbo .. its really a special car etc etc The thing thats just annouyed me .. is the car was built as a stop gap between the 330 and fore coming m3 ... which isnt progress. Yes I know they have done this for years, but if your going to launch a new product atleast do more than two tiny snails / low the compression and have 'revolutionary' variable boost controller(s) ... why Im calling it a marketing tool more than it living up to BMW's engineering potential. That all said and done .. it does what its designed to do well, fill a market gap with a semi -luxary coupe.
  7. the evening was cool... but it was quite interesting when Gus, Pam, myself and brendon turned up in jeans and t-shirts ... Most people were turning their nose up at us ... and the sales staff wouldnt go near us ... hahaha ahh well ... I was asking for it Was a fun evening anyways, thanks to pam for the invite... the 335i engine I found is a pretty piss poor attempt by BMW on turbo technology. I understand that the 335i is just a stop gap between the 330i e90 and the soon to be '07 M3 .. but thats all it really is ... a marketing tool. The car is lovely though ..
  8. no sh*t ... its in an e46 :/ looks like someone opened the valve to a para rubber pool.
  9. please say you kept the stock CSL's ... makes for a nice change with the CH's tho... if things couldnt of been repaired on mine I was going for these (painted minus the chorme with polished lip) I saw them on an 05 m3 the other day while in checking up on the 46 and I can tell you they look amazing ..
  10. jochen your a legend! oh I have a person who wants to meet you... hes got as 735 that hes 'building' and want advice on what to do with his head unit ... he also wants to put tv in the head rests for the kids. I told him its best to talk to you to see if its possible off the factory system. Will be in touch...
  11. had: 1994 e36 320i current: 2001 e46 330i 1986 e30 m325i (tech1)
  12. hehe is that a challenge ?? What I was saying is that a fully forged m50 can handle 600rwhp before you start getting into the hardcore stuff like coating and other heat treatment ... we certainly wont be running this HP in street form. 400rwhp should be fine with the wheel and suspension / break setup we have planned.
  13. hey ya, The m20 was going to require some pretty skillful work to get the head strong enough to handle the FI power.. (welded water channels and a lot of work / money to get the head flowing enough for the power ... stared to turn into more a pain in the ass than what was worth it ... The m50 will handle 600rwhp with just forging / head bolts and minimal head work alone. (double valve springs) Being 24 valve it flows a lot better. So we will be going m50 for this. Also as stated before .. we are forging the engine ... most likely using arp bolts, s52 crank, o-ringing, 8.5:1 Custom JE forged pistons etc etc ... the list goes on ... yes we have thought about it .. and talked to some very knowledgeable people in the race industry. International forums have been invaluble on this so far... its help us realise how and what we are aiming for engine wise.
  14. would be keen ... PM me if you like with details
  15. looks bloody nice congrats man ... you really should build and sell them at that qaulity
  16. Nice yeah talking with conrod and andy last night .. it just seems to be a bit more of a ready made engine. We will forge the crank, forge the rods and do custom forge pistons, bolts .. possible o-ringing etc etc .. the m50 head seems to be better for handling FI.
  17. might going m50 at this point will let yall know
  18. tauranga ? .. maybe doug will head along is it at all possible to take some photos ?
  19. When we get back from the taupo trip we will get into it ... hoping for end of summer .. we will see .. goal is to see if we can roll along the lines of this guy (600 hp m20) http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5...amp;q=e30+turbo Listen to that and tell me that a raped FI m20 doesnt sound the best thing ever I fell in love update: have been talking with ernst at baverian .. him and his swiss friend who worked on the m3 touring cars back in the day are going to be looking into the engine plan. Goal is a tits m20 turbo, they are a solid proven engine that is realitivly cheap to build to race engine strength... but remember nothing is 100% in this project as we are trying things that haven't been done around these parts for some time ... so things are subject to change including engine. we have thought about the following e46 CSL s54 engine turboed s52 Evo m3 turboed m50 turboed m20 turboed
