errr ... they are all made in germany and (apart from 323i and 325i made in south africa) and exported to other conutries where the countries BMW agency fits them with local options (bodykits, alloy wheels, tail lights etc etc). The only country who has different options is the states. Usually they have dumbed down versions to what we get apart from the 330i ZHP.

heh ... I drive the overtaking lane on the motorway, leave just my park lights on and I strangely find people get outta the way ?!? .. never happened in any of the other vehicles including my old e36 ... weird.

heh rang my insurance company last year to insure the car, and they asked if it was and 'm sport' I said ... wtf is an 'm sport' .. she said I have that model listed .. I said, you mean an M3 , she said no we have that too but an 'm sport' model .. I said err its a 330i .. thats it .. and there is no such thing as an 'm sport' I said you can get a 330i with a ///M badge on it that they did in japan to make the japs feel special or you can buy a model with the mtech kit on it but there is no 'm sport' model ... Insurance companies will try it on with anything :|

hehe .. yeah to be honest I had a similar view .. until I learn't a bunch more about them. Now, If I had the garage space I would kill to do a e30 325 lightweight road legal racecar. I think for us newer bimmer / 'older' guys the stigma attached with the e30 _at first glance_ is some 17yr old with a baseball cap on sideways running around on 'bling' malaysian chrome wheels bashing the hell outta a 12 inch sub up and down queen street. Thus creating a picture of younger people who own e30's. Its wrong and I'm guilty of it many of a time. (I'm still young and im even showing my age :| ) The thing is (like any older vehicle) they have a certain charm, and get better and better with age. You have great things like being able to alot of work on the cars yourself, putting the older style 80's lower size motorsport wheels on them and they look fantastic! (for mine to look good I had to go 19 inch ) On the Saturday run I was quite proud of the representation in our convey, its great rolling through a little town and the looks on people faces when 15 odd bimmers rock on through.!
