Oh well that explains it then. It must just be because the tyres a a lot more grippy up front than the crap ones I used to have ha. They look the same size. I'll check them out when I get q chance. Thanks guys!

Hi guys i brought some new tyres for the wagon as the rear two were toast. So i have the ones on the front moved to the back to chew them up, and the rims with the new tyres put on the front. So now the rims that were on the back are on the front and viseversa. My question, could you buy 17" ACS type 1s in non staggered arrangement? reason i ask is about a month or two ago the rear end kicked out on my in a corner not under power or anything though it was raining, and also the front steering seems heavier than my 525i, and i dont remember it being that heavy when i dailied it. I saw Ian540i's signature and saw his are staggered, and thought i wonder if thats the reason??? They are 17" authentic rims, but i have no idea what the offset or width is, they are rwd though, and brought new from BMW NZ back when they stocked these. cheers

There are other ways to do it, but i wouldnt mind a 2012 Dodge Ram to pull the door down.....

German like every other beemer match? good to hear you got it sorted. Can't believe this guy lives in my old house lol
-
Yep haha sorry. You don't need them you already have a 540i these should be infinitely better than the standard fare in mine however! Thanks for your help mate. Don't know of anyone more local though?

Pulled trigger on 540i brakes for the wagon, thought I might as well get some braided lines while I'm at it. Who sells a kit for this? Trade me doesn't come up with anything, not that I'd buy from there, but no one is advertising :s surely you can get them? What do the open class guys use? Also is brake fluid brake fluid? Or are there differences? Recommendations for heavy street/light track use? Does the fact the car has abs cause problems? It's a weekend car that gets used spiritedly and doing an engine upgrade soon all going to plan. I'm just learning from my past mistakes and doing that last when the car is ready for it Thanks, Andy

Don't go to a dealer, you'd think they know their sh*t but they don't. They valued a 318i mtech2 manual SE E30 I had at $500 lol. I listed on trade me at 3500 and was sold within the hour for that price, I could have got more in hindsight. Just goes to show

I had 205s an they had enough grip for an m52b28 for street use. If you want 235s, flaring the rear guards will be your only option
-
Profile relates to sidewall height, and has next to no impact on tyre width among the same tyre brand. It's the 205-235 that makes the diffence in width. I had 205/55s that only JUST fit. When i brought new tyres, I was told that 235s wouldn't fit after they went through a series of calculations to try. There just isnt the room in a standard e30 well. Like I sai D, I haven't experience with this, but this is what a techy I trust showed and told me

yeah its a disputed topic. my front end was quite stiff, so i think the rear opposite corner spring compressed rather than the front attacking wheel as i never got gaurd rub when turning into driveways etc. i wouldnt get that size again though, but its possible to use those if you have to
-
205/55 is an option too. i had those on hartge rims and no rubbing, lowered on H&R and bilsteins comes down to how stiff your suspension is going to be to a certain extent in regard to rubbing

I saw a car very similar to that, if not that exact one when i was in thailand! thats wearing a thai numberplate ha who knows
-
i wish "@zenetti" worked here haha
-
have you got my PM seth?
-
would these fit an edirty4? stud pattern and offset should be fine, just worried about the hubcentric ring thing...
-
nah i appreciate the cars for what they are, not that the e28 was to my style. just didn't expect him to still be going after he got called out so many times with his last project(s). this car is pretty nice though, as long as it isn't touched anymore. classics should be kept that way imo.
