  1. From having chats with a few professionals when I was looking at e34s (which use the same setup more or less) you will need to convert a full non-Electronic rear end... $$$$$$
  2. does your car have a towbar and wiring? i found deleting that solved the problem on my E30, no idea why lol just did. I think its because the brake lights are wired seperately left and right, and the high stop is parallelled off one side. Must be a short in the trailer harness. if you dont have one, dont know where to start :S
  3. just use VHT carpet paint from repcos. i used two cans to do mine, you only have to take out the front seats and the center console. far cheaper and easier than fitting new carpet. im not even sure E30s were available with black carpet? take seats out brush all carpet so it faces the same way spray everywhere on the carpet about 30mm away or so leave to dry brush carpet other way repeat and then if you want really good coverage, brush 90 degrees and then 180 degrees to that so all four directions are covered. mine wasnt even starting to show wear after 2 years of DD use

  5. I have this, its quite a cool toy! but make sure you have a laptop with a COM (serial) port on it or you wont do much. you can get a serial to USB converter at DSE or jaycar etc though
  6. i cant remember where i watched/read it, but you could buy an '11 Mazzer Gran Tourismo in the UK and ship it to NZ yourself and save 100,000 over buying a new one here... i wonder if that extends to most marques? ill try reference this now

  11. copy and pasted this list huh? ill help set you straight. not ment to come across as arrogant, but take what you read on the american forums with a grain of salt, half the sh*t doesnt apply in this side of the world and/or there are cheaper ways to do sh*t. Also, i worry about whether you should be attempting this conversion if you think S50 stuff will work better than stock.. especially ECUs and such 1/ any M30/S38/S88 E28 mounts will work 3/ good luck finding E21/E30iX bits. better off going for VAG stuff. 4/ again, see 1/. Use VAG stuff and your e30 master will work fine 5/ what shell are you using, and what gearbox are you using, and what engine did the gearbox come off? 6/ whatever e30 you have stock stuff works fine 7/ cheaper to custom it if you cant get away with an E30 one 10/ you will need to custom modify M50 headers. remember our cars are RHD and M50s are a lot wider than M40s and M20s...... 11/ your existing M5x stuff will work fine, thought you have to lengthen your top hose, or buy a new one 12/ ?????????? why would you need this when you say you are after an M50 one in 16/?\ 16/ i could be wrong on this last point, but im pretty sure its the silver 413 that you do want, its the others you dont. in anycase the red ones you hear about arent in NZ. i could be wrong on this last point, i was OBD2 and then converted to a tuned ecu 17/ Rubbish hope this helps.....
  12. have never been pulled for mine, and have been pulled over/breathchecks/whatnot countless times. I have the ones with the ferns on all the cars ive had, and been using them for 18 months at least i hear that the fine is around the 200 mark... id rather take the gamble and wait till i get stopped twice before i regret the fact i didnt get legit ones

  16. gearbox choice is pretty marginal really. if you are going to boost the engine then go for something stronger. but BMW didnt cut it that fine with thier gearboxes. Youll be fine with a 220. John aka E30ftw had this gearbox iirc and had no issues, and i ran a 240 found on the back of an M40....

  18. for you e36? theres a bumper trim piece you need to replace. any UK/SA import or NZ new will have the right part. back should be the same (edit: ...between the jap imports and rest of world cars so wont need to be replaced), may be a silver bracket to remove though
  19. must be from a touring as sedans are different. any e34 touring will be the same must be mint with NO cracks or spidering etc let me know what you have. cheers, andy
