  2. actually, ill be in auckland in devonport on the 12th if you want me to come over? not sure how far away that is from you? you have my number anyway
  3. it was almost exactly a year ago for me too! picked it up at last years trackday and installed that next weekend and never touched it again ha
  4. No it still has vanos, and its using an M50 ECU programmed buy gavin. I think its an M50 loom with OBD2 fuel rail and such. Kerry probably has a build thread on here somewhere explaining it all
  5. PM Kerry (Mosens) he should be able to help you with the wiring more so than i can as he built the loom and i just plugged it in. dont worry about the plugs next to those relays they dont go to anything. i dont think i ran o2 sensors.. are there any in the headers? As for identifying whats what, i dont remember, but all those plugs only connect to one thing, so by process of elimination you can sort it out I had a filter on the end of the crankcase breather hole. youll need to connect a pipe from here to the intake for cert iirc because of the whole emissions thing swaps need to meet these days. from the factory this goes to a hole that is on the intake for emissions. the hole is underneath the intake manifold sort of toward the back of the engine from memory. would have done this if id taken the car to get a cert I had the car running and driving and was happy to leave it in than state, so anything that isnt connected (other than the MAF and ECU etc) arent needed to make the car run the oil temp sensor is if you run an external gauge, as is the water temp. I used the factory radiator one, and didnt rn a oil temp. cant remember if i took anything off the starter motor, but all the wires will be there anyway Vanos isnt removed
  6. Might trade iPhone4, other Apple stuff, LCD TV, BMW bits or gobbies from your sister
  7. Anyone want a 20" iMac? is the second to latest generation (looks almost identical to the current one)? I have just finishing refurbishing it and is running OSX.5. 1GB Ram, Dual core 2Ghz, 300GB Hard drive, iSight camera, Intel Processor, built in microphone and speakers, WiFi, bluetooth etc. Will come with a wired Mac keyboard and Mac mouse, I can install extra RAM, bigger harddrive (subject to availability of parts) etc or upgrade to OSX.7 $999ono Have a fair few MacPros that will be built up when i get time too, watch this space

  9. wow sharp price! i would have taken it if i didnt already have an E30 plate! glws!
  10. supposedly the dual headlights are quite rare, they usually only have one on each side. would be a good project, but a little pricy for a canvas really imo
  11. yeah i saw that! its a relitively straight road too. I thought it was a cop commodore on the tracks at first!
  12. All dets here, would rather sell through here though! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=402414426 $1100
  13. Pays to check specs though. i melted the AC switch doing the same thing using the relay would be the better option overall. Thats actually designed to put out the current required. if i did it again, i would splice into just behind the cigarette lighter, and then for the switch use a relay. you might want to do it to the ON postition though, so you can sit with the stereo on in ACC without having the whole works lit up
  14. nah i had the same fine 18 months ago and i was actually guilty then and paid it straight away because i was. Promise i wasnt. i wouldnt waste my own time writing letters and posting here etc if i was guilty. it just really annoys me eh. so unfair. after all ive done to help the police through my old job and such too. gah
  15. As if you need to ask! I have a couple of MacPros in the lounge i could put to good use doing something like this
  16. i have bridgstone Re001 BY FAR the best iver ever driven on, though they arent cheap at 260 ish a corner for a reletively common 235 tyre
  17. yeah i guess. its just that its not fair them taking my licence for something that i didnt do. id rather delay paying the fine etc because the demerit points arent credited to your account untill you pay up. I cant loose it because it would severly limit me in my job. i learnt my lesson maybe 18 months ago and havent had a ticket since, probably done easily 30-40,000kms since then too
  18. true, but because i have had the same fine before (though that time i was guilty) it will mean that i might loose my licence. im not sure when the demerits scrub off
  19. yeah i have asked for the certificate of accuracy but i havent got it back yet. What qualification do the cops need to use the equipment or is it just part of thier standard training?
  20. So long story short, i was driving home and was clocked at 83km/h in a 50km/h area coming around a cornet. my car was laden with computer gear and had i been going that speed i would have been off the road I am 100% honest in saying i would have been doing 50, maybe 55 at a pinch, but definately not 83. the shear physics would not allow me to do so. i have been clocked at that speed range before and paid the ticket and thanked my stars i didnt get my licence taken off me. but this time its 100% bullshit. anyway, so i contested the ticket explaining the physics behind it etc etc and they wrote back saying that 83 is too high for a warning to be given and im still liable for the fine What can i do now? I refuse to pay the ticket because im not guilty, but what can i do? the legal fees in disputing it wouldnt make it worth while. i would pay 300 to a lawyer to get me off than pay these guys. I have great respect for the police for reasons i cant say on a public forum, but this is crap. if it was $80 id probably just pay up, but $300 isnt fair for something i didnt do. its not that i dont have the money, but thats not the point Anyone been in this stuation before? advice etc? cheers, andy
  21. yeah offered to buy it, but he just wants to run it into the ground. it looks mint on the outside, but the interior is shagged from what i saw. its a fair point he had though, its not ofter you can get the power, loadspace and price all at the right balance. they are a great car
  22. I test drove an e46, but they are quite small loadspace. Think a late corolla wagon. Was the deal breaker for me, they are beautiful to drive. Was a 320 iirc. Haven't had/driven an e39 but will have much bigger load space, and the bigger engine the better. Walk away from anything less than a 528, they are heavier than an e34 wagon and my 2.5 struggles let alone the 2L Hope it helps a bit
