  1. yeah man i spent a while with max and grease remover cleaning the surface, it's worth the time and effort tho... Stop your wingeing and just do it... =;-P
  2. I"ll take your car for a run Ashkan... I promise i will not break the speedlimit in it...
  3. The jeep shows where and why it's cheaper... It's not the greatest handling thing around. Lots of large slabs of cheap plastic same as the new holdens but holden have a better fit and finish and when you compare the new commies to something decent that really puts the jeep into perspective. Your paying for for the engine/performance not the complete package. Also they are rather low slung so might not have the clearance you want. Could look at something more left field like a Volvo XC70/90, Skoda Octavia Scout/Audi A4 Allroader, Dodge RAM SRT-10 (Be a RedNeck for a while), This should get you anywhere you need to go.
  4. I used a wax and grease remover from a nz company called Amazing Haste... it was fantastic!
  5. Sorry mister man, i did google GT42, GT42 Disc Brake, and GT42 Brake Rotor and only could get information on the Garrett turbo stuff... I think i was just looking at the photos and thought (i think like greg.) that you where going to be directing the pipe to that location - pointing that the inside face of the disc (where the pad makes contact with the disc on the engine side of the disc - hence inside face)
  6. A high carbon disc will help with disc wear, also pad brands will wear discs differently it can take some time to get a happy balance between pad wear and disc wear. I know one targa competition that tried 6 different combos before he found a happy balance. Your discs have a larger than normal center venting area compared to most factory setups, but cooling the inner face will still cause issues, you do really need to get the air flow into the center of the disc to push the air through those large vents that you have. I know a few guys that use 2 - 4 smaller dia pipes putting air more uniformly around the center of the disc vs the single large duct putting air into a single area. I would becareful of over cooling the brakes also, especially on the road. It might be worth looking at making some blanking plates for the front intakes for the road, it's more of an issue if your running race/rally pads on the road. A lot of the hill climb guys in the uk run no cooling for the shorter runs to make sure they get the brakes up to temp for the run, they found they where getting issues with over cooling with the ducting on events under 5km.
  7. Do you guys run stone shields? If so try something like this to help get the air to the center of the hub so it disperses through the vents better: I figured you would have the people that could knock something like that up for you. Cooling just the one face of the disc isn't the best idea. Ultra-ratty looking...
  8. I was watching UFC at the time you posted that...
  9. Jack:I argee with James, going fast on a race track is one thing - going fast on a proper road is another. I'd have a look at doing some bent sprints and hillclimbs, under powered cars that handle very well will very often beat higher horse powered cars. have a look at going and doing this event at the end of feb: and other such events - you car is more than acceptable for clubsport events. You don't just have to do the E30 series because you have an E30...under powered car force you to learn how to enter and exit corner properly to carry corner speed, much in the same way how driving on gravel forces you to learn how to use the brakes and throttle properly.
  10. yeah i think, it's in my thread.]] http://www.shop3m.com/3m-high-temperature-...-425-M0W7G3TRKR this is what i'm using.
  11. i've used some 3M alloy foil tape down the trans tunnel and where the exhaust goes and it cut down the in-car temps massively. I would HIGHLY recommend it.
  12. There is no likes buttons so:
