  1. Seriously... Do a facebook search...I managed to do that for a guy who ripped off 15 of us in a group buy on an aussie car forum. Managed to find out his friends, messaged one for a contact number, got a number for him and his wife. Gave his wife a call and then out of pure luck, he sent out a refund and a letter of applogie to everyone... well everyone except me... Go facebook.
  2. sounds like a club dyno day there...
  3. Are they king springs? I haven't here a single good thing about them...
  4. the touch up guy i think is his name... we have used him to fix mom's audi wheels. www.touchupguys.co.nz If in doubt call a major car dealer and ask them who they use.
  5. Pugs are cars that require proper maintanence, if you neglete them they will punish you... You do the regular preventive mainatanence and they will take anything you can throw at them...
  6. 500 @ $28 = 5.6 cents per ml 300 @ $15 = 5 cents per ml Was that as staff prices or joe public prices?
  7. Is the caliper size increasing or just the disc and pad size? If you increase the caliper size you will also probably want to have a look at increasing the master cylinder size or you will get a soft brake pedal. You might also unset the brake balance by increasing the front brake calipers size. The increase in mass would cause an increase in unsprung weight and heavier steering, you might just want to look at upgrading the pads and fluid your using first. You want to try and avoid adding unsprung weight to the car, well any weight if you can (yes adding weight to improve car balance is done). I'm not to sure with the BMW but i know in most cars the factory setup isn't too bad, and it can be substancially improved with a decent set of pads. When you brakes are over heating whats happening to the pedal? Are you still getting a firm pedal (pad fade) or is your pedal going to the floor (over heated brake fuild)? Alot of people upgrade to a mintex 1144 for fast road use and 1155 for race/fast road in heavy cars... Feredo, EBC, and Endless are also well respected brands. Mintex if i remember correctly (which i probably don't) are around 130 - 150 for a front set when you supply the backing plate. If you go to somewhere like racebrakes you can get special paint put onto the disc to indicate how hot the discs are getting (do you need to upgrade these?), from what i remember it's 3 different strips that burn off at different temps indicating the range of temps the disc is getting to.
  8. When i was looking around to replace the brake fuild in the 205, a friend suggested i go to Turbo Vehicles Ltd in penrose. For a 500ml bottle of either brake fuild it was $28... Concidering i was getting through a friend at trade price of $32 and Trade Parts sell it for $48 i thought i would let you guys know about it.
  9. Just wondering if it was someone from here in a very dirty looking new shape M5? If so it was great fun watching you come into the first corner with the rear end stepping out in 3rd...
  10. i had the 306 dyno'd there. He's a very very nice guy. I'm going to take the 205 there once it's fixed
  11. Wow he's dropped his prices... last time i talked to him it was $800 for a full map. Then as he saves the maps he charges $90 per hour on a return visit to remap the car to suit any new mod's.

    Victoria Fires

I'm 99% certain they had the Fire Service and Civil Defence going through the streets and advising people that they should be leaving their properties. It should have also been broadcast over the local radio stations. This disabled are generally assisted in times like this, it's should part of the civil defence program. No it's not their fault the fire was started but if they choose to ignore the advice of profesional services - which happens a hell of a lot more than you would care to think during hurricane warnings. Things like earthquakes, floods, tornados are all flash occurances and are had to prepare for.

    Victoria Fires

this is going to sound really bad, but alot of the people that have died - it was their own fault... The knew the fires where coming and had choosen to stay and not evacuate like most people. then they realise just how much crap they are in and flee... It's the same with the people staying when hurracanes in the states come through... The people starting fires are just dumb. Some times it's as simple as a cig thrown out the window... I think you would be unpleasantly shocked at how many cig butts are being thrown out windows, dropped on the ground in parks (was at the lantern festival in albert park auck, and someone had dropped a butt that was smoldering a dry leaf it was sitting on), etc.. a few of the big fires in california have started that way...
  15. Haha yah i think a few people saw me walking on the fruitless hunt for missing body trim... Incidently i've done alot more work to the car... and subsuqently broken the damm thing... grrrr Found the hydrolic handbrake is causing the rear brakes to have residual pressure after it's been released and causing the brakes to over heat, which has caused the pads to crumble. Greg think there is (as it was described to me) a footlocker in the m/c for the handbrake that is ment for drum brakes and is designed to hold some pressure in the lines to help with the drum brakes not compressing in. or something... Did a full fluid flush of the brakes and now the m/c we think is dead as i've lost the pedal and all braking is happening now in the last 1/3'd of pedal travel - but i can feel it now! haha Mounted the battery, fitted the co-drivers seat and harness. Went to replace the engine oil to see if that was causing the pressure problem, ended up shearing off the nut that was tack welded to the sump plug (square bit sump plug) and had to use the oil temp sensor to drain the engine oil. Then took the car for a test drive to see if we had fixed the oil pressure problem and lost the front drivers side wheel trim... I swear the car is having a hissy fit about the new painted trim and wants it to be the old gray color... Now i can't make the hillclimb on the 22nd i was aiming for as the first event... really not happy... Car is currently at Greg Kent's getting looked at. On the upside, Greg's got a 6bar oil pump spring for me, and we will know if the sump is trapdoored and baffled, and if there is a windage tray also fitted.
  16. Just wondering if anyone has a terratrip 202 plus that they arn't using anymore and would either like to donate to a worthy cause (me) or sell... The car's already wired up for the unit and the remote foot pedal, but the unit itself was sold off.. So i just need the unit... Any help would be great... Heath
  17. Nope never did find it... Even parked up on the roadside and walked up to the second corner of that section that the M3 had it's whoopee on... so oh well... i know where anouther one is that i can grab so ya... I'll be revit nutting it to the car once it's all painted... Opps forgot the smiley face at the end of that statement... it's all good mister man. =;-) Mark Herbert built the car for himself to compete in the 2002 Targa, it was used in that event and then was stored in the corner of his workshop until i went hunting for a rollcage for my 306 in mid-november... If its the same one that i'm thinking of that would have been Peter Whyte from dunners... there is anouther 205 that does the targa also - David Walker, thats just a standard 1.9 8v'er - he usually leads the targa tour now... I would love to see some of the pics..
  18. Shhh i'm on a BMW forum with a pug... there is a certain amount of pleasing the natives that needs to be done... There might be more than 160 under there but need to dyno to comfirm... Re: tyres - one M3 owner refered to them as cheating tyres... It's got koni adjustable coilovers on the front and spax adjustable dampners on the back - not ideal but it will do for now. Creaver: not to sure thinking about making a trip to the dumping station on constalation road on the shore to see if they will weigh it/tell me the weight with a full tank on saturday... but i'm thinking around the 900kg mark
  19. My GF has a 2004 307 that we have done a bit of work on and ya a few rattles and creaks =;-) Just got to say if it wasn't for Peugeot you wouldn't have motorsport and thus no M series...
  20. rjac001 what ya think i can get away with postin this pic as it's mostly a BMW in frame? Might want to close your eyes from here on... hmmm link to pics: http://s42.photobucket.com/albums/e346/DRTDVL/205%20MI16/ Cam: Ya unspung weight is a killer! the 309 suspension is a good upgrade for the 205. Mines just got the standard 205 brakes and beam/arms at the moment. I am running the mi16 engine (1.9 alloy block) with a 1.6 gearbox... But those BMWs still walked away from me in the fast group on the drive... the only one that didn't was Spottswoode but he had lost some gears...
