Hi Carl Welcome to Bimmersport and to NZ. Nice looking E30 you had there! the E30 scene here is still pretty decent although many of the good ones have been turned into race series cars and many have fallen into the hands of young g-units with very bad taste. There are still a large amount of nice examples around, most of which are owned by members of this site. The tricky thing these days is finding a 'good' one for sale. Enjoy the website Ollie

I must take a photo of my winsdscreen fitting tool, made from a coat hanger. when removing basically do what dave said, use no tools because you may chip the edge and it will crack, make sure you do it while the rubber is warm and soft, not cold and hard.

Car: 1996 E36 318 Manual, M44 engine we just got the car last week and i thought nothing of the gearbox being tough to click over to reverse, until this morning when it decided to not click at all and just go right over instead making 1st gear hard to find. this afternoon is was back to normal and then ths evening it played up again. any suggestions as to what the problem might be?

Check Spark Plugs and Petrol Filter. Petrol filter is below the fuse box on left side of engine bay. i'd replace it anyway, chances are no-one has for a long time and they are only $20 or something, just make sure you put it in the right way round. also listen to the fuel pump, see if it cuts out intermittently or is extremely noisy. if none of this solves your problem i'd say it is a fuel relay or ignition wiring problem, to test you need to jump a wire from the positive side of the battery to the positive side of the coil and see if this fixes it. Good luck

the back seat bottoms are different also. sedan ones have rounded corners to allow passengers to get in and out of the back set and the coupe ones have square corners to but up against the side of the car.
