I got 25, I guess the reading of US car magazines has come in useful for something.

You sound like a real hero. That all sounds so much better than simply unscrewing the numberplate, unscrewing the Japanese number plate holder, redrilling the number plate and reattaching..... Cheers Grant

I hate people that just try too hard to be something that they are not, and fail to see that people see straight through them. The above comment isn't aimed at anyone person in particular, so if you think it is aimed at you, don't go getting your titties in a tangle, and bitch about it. People that try too hard really is something that annoys me. Cheers Grant

I'm pretty sure it will have an M52 motor, not an M50.

Hi Your 540i is an E34, and your 323i is an E21 (I think it is too old to be an E30). The E designation refers to the series, and body shape. There is a separate M (or S) code to identify your engine. For example, my old E30 had an M20 engine. My new E36 has an M52 engine. Normal cars have a M designation for their engine. Proper motorsport cars have the S designated engine. I would imagine your 323i would have an M20 engine, and your 540i will have a M60 engine. Yes, lots of us here are in the BMW CC. Visit www.bmwclub.org.nz. They (we) run a fair few events, catering to most people's interests. Cheers Grant

Hi Good luck with the site. Just a word of warning though, unless you have permission from BMW to use the Roundel, you may want to remove it off the site. Cheers Grant

Yes...just drill new holes in your number plate to match the holes in your car that held the Jap number plate holder, it is easy, and solves the problem.Cheers Grant

If you have sports suspension, it makes a massive difference. My Racing Dynamics one was awesome, and it greatly reduced understeer. However with the standard suspension, I hardly noticed any improvement, it was only when I changed to the Bilstein/ H&R's did it prove its worth. I'm glad it has gone to a good home. Cheers Grant

Even though I was one of the judges, I can't remember the final order, but my best guess is:5 Gerry's M Coupe 4 David's E46 330i 3 The black M Roadster 2 Doug's E36 M3 Convertable 1 Your E30 M3. These were the top 5, buy the order may have been slightly different. Cheers Grant

Hi Your best bet is to joing the BMW Car Club (www.bmwclub.org.nz), and then come along to the driver training day at Taupo in early April. Not only will you get some driver training, you will also get the chance to do some laps on the Taupo racetrack in your car. Otherwise Pukekohe has open testing days reasonably regularly, but it would be wise to do at least one driver training day before you attend one of these. Cheers Grant

That sucks, what a waste. I hope the owner was insured, and I'm glad they lived to tell the tale. Cheers Grant
